    Crazy how quick and responsive this is. I'd love to see the process of importing into max and integrating with a scene along with seeing things imported from MAX into Embergen

    For those struggling to make the point force really attract to a small area, go to the simulation node > force and uncheck Solid Ground.

    this is one of the best embergen tutorials out there, you just didnt walk us through but explained what the things you touched actually do. i genuinly understand embergen a bit better now!

    I imported another object, show emitter is turned off, yet It still is visible, any ideas on how can I fix that?

    sure! embergen is definitely a good stand alone tool to work between different softwares. The good thing is you can play realtime and then export in VDB to work with any renderers.

    Did you know "Final Fluid" by cebas?, its like EmberGen for 3dsMax

      Sure, I know it exists, but it's only for Max. Embergen is for everything so it took priority. Would love to play around with final fluid too at some point

    I remember when I've commented the older videos about simulations with tyFlow, and always you were attention with everyone.
    I also remember when I was happy to see a video about destruction and you replied talking something "I knew that you would like it" hahah

      lights don't export. You need to recreate the lighting in your 3D software

    I would like to see a simulation in EmberGen that you axport in VDB, and you put that VDB inside TyFlow.

    Jangafx refuse to make 3ds max plug-in with ember gen. I don’t get why. Extra income for them. I wish someone can create one for them.

      They’re focused on finishing embergen 1.0 (which releases next week). They have lots of stuff on their to-do list for the future.

      Yes but only for pre-rendered cinematics. VDBs at this level of detail will not playback in real-time inside of an actual UE game.

      Right now the only way is to export the sim as a VDB and import into max. This can then be rendered with Vray volume grid

      Embergen is a standalone software, but you can export your embergen simulations as VDB and import into any 3D software

    Hi, maybe someone can help me, my point light doesn’t reflect on the smoke in any way, not at all, I put the point light on and it just shines on the floor and that’s it... there’s no effect like in the video with smoke, why? I can’t understand..

      Were you able to figure this out because I am having the same problem. I see no light on the smoke only place it appears is on the floor.

      You probably need to connect the light to the sim node

    Can the colors be exported to unreal engine ? I know vdb can be imported but when i’m making things like this i cant export lights or colors from ebmer to the ue5 there is only smoke density and i dont know how to help it 😢

      Currently no, colored smoke will not transfer over however the fire color will using the flames channel inside the VDB and you can change those colors in UE

      Currently the only way to bring embergen sims into Max is by exporting them into VDB and importing. Then you can use vray volume grid to render it out.

    Great vid as usual, would love to see more and also how to import as a VDB (pro's/con's compared to Phoenix etc) into a larger scene in Max and Vray. Maybe if more people understood this then there would be a higher demand for more tutorials like this...
    I assume it won't interact with TyFlow yet?

      Yep, those videos are coming. You'd have to export your tyflow sim as alembic or fbx and import into embergen. I knew the comparisons between Phoenix / Embergen were inevitable since most of my audience are 3Ds Max users, but I see embergen as more of an alternative tool that can be used by the entire CG community, not just the Max crowd, rather than a Phoenix competitor. Phoenix is amazing because it lives inside of Max already + can do liquids.

      @@RedefineFX i never found clear way of doing some nice looping fog/mist simulation :( i know unreal engine supports VDB now but it still not perfect.
      i do 3D environment/landscape and my scenes miss some good quality animated fog (VFX in general)
