The quickest summary of Orange Cassidy is that my young son liked his gimmick at the beginning of this 5 week run and now he asks me to skip his matches. Tony is truly a mark.

Nah, Big Bill Morrisey was roasting Pockets, it’s just that the match (like Big Bill) was forgettable.
No. This match was dog shit. The guy who doesn't care and doesn't try beat a legend. Everyone in the building interfered in it so no one felt left out. It was overbooked shit.

A lot of people on Social Media (including me) wanted Jeff Jarrett to win! I was really surprised.
The second i heard about this match ... and especially after he stated his belief that jj wouldnt do the job for oc.
@@klawstecno2083 It's wasted opportunity too because Jeff winning could've setup a longer term story for OC. Have him work his way back to a rematch or move onto something else since he is over with the crowd.
@@mattypaul87 in my opinion, OC should lost the title, Jarrett get a major heat with the fanbase, he beats every Indie Darling and young talent (to get even more heat,maybe beat Hook and destroy his FTW title) and them the next Challenger,the fan favorite,a young babyface, gets a match with Jeff at Double or Nothing and win the title, getting a giant pop and becoming a star.
And by the way, who should be this babyface? Takeshita! The guy is good,the crowd loves him,Jim and Brian like him, he would go super over for beating Double J and becoming International Champion.
After that, Takeshita can work representing AEW all over the world,maybe work a program with International Talents, and Jeff can get a match with Hook,so he can elevate him after what he did with the FTW Title, putting another babyface over.
I am so used to Double J beating all the young guys in TNA that I actually thought he would win.

Jim has to realize that Jeff at this point is probably happy just to be shown on TV and collect a good, solid paycheck. And Brian called out the situation previously on how willing Jeff would be to accept said paycheck in putting over any of Tony's pet projects.
I only wonder if Jarrett held out for six-figures like he did with Chyna.

Imagine the outrage from the indie superfans if Tony had booked Jeff Jarrett to beat OC, lol.
There's nothing that those people hate more than an "old school" type of wrestler getting one up on people like Orange Cassidy, Omega or the Young Bucks.
I'm not an indie superfan but I would be annoyed if Jeff won the belt

Back when I first got started watching AEW this stuff did disappoint me a lot, nowadays it just amuses me because I know there's no hope for change as long as Tony has the pen.
The first AEW show ended with Jericho pinning Omega clean, dingus.
@@KruelAidMan Jericho is one of the farthest things from an old school style wrestler on that roster and that's saying a lot knowing who else is in there.
The reality is within the AEW Wrestling Bubble, OC is considered an upper midcard/borderline main event wrestler. Again, I’m saying within the AEW Bubble and with their fans. That’s why he’s featured as much as he is.
With that in mind, it's completely obnoxious that these goofs have the audacity to complain about whom any other promotion decides to push or not.
I mean. It is not just within the AEW Bubble.
He fought Will Osprey from NJPW in the last forbidden door and latter Katsuyori Shibata. So I am thinking that NJPW also see him as an upper midcard.

I honestly thought that Tony would send OC over to Japan, probably DDT, when he won the All Atlantic Title. I guess OC didn't want to move?
Regardless, a stint in Japan might be helpful to
1. makes the audience miss OC because how can I miss you if you don't leave? I like OC for what he is but I think even his fans are starting to get sick of him appearing every week.
2. Have him work at higher workrate level and develop his movesets and maybe even characters. Whether good or bad
OC is getting stale. Hopefully Tony can give him a break from TV soon

I'm fully expecting OC to be the one to dethrone MJF for the World Title one day (and then retire the useless "International" vanity title). Yes, MJF gets to beat Danielson after a 60+ min. Iron Man Match (a match Danielson himself chose), and will probably beat the returning and red-hot Adam Cole along the way, only to go down to the Orange Punch. Can't wait.
Jarrett is def in the top five best workers in the company. It’s astonishing how good he still is for his age.

Hilarious to look back at the beginning and how much they loved her at first and how that’s changed so much since. Largely how everything AEW went from the optimism they started with to finally accepting what it actually became. Makes for an entertaining omnibus to listen to.

As usual, Jim's right. JJ is the only in ring veteran, that if he had a belt could do more good defending that belt than any of the Chumps (MJF excluded) currently holding a belt. The overall in ring performers are still woefully inadequate for a supposed Major Wrestling promotion.

vs.
Impact Wrestling: IMPACT!;
[2] AEW: Rampage
vs.
Major League Wrestling/MLW: Fusion;
[3] Ring of Honor: ROH TV
vs.
United Wrestling Network/UWN: Championship Wrestling.
At this point, Scott D'Amore (ImpactWrestling), Court Bauer (MLW) & Dave Marquez (UWN) are better bookers than Tony Khan at AEW & ROH. The only difference is the Tony Khan and his dad Shahid are billionaires. Well Impact Wrestling and Anthem Sports Entertainment owner Leonard Asper, is one as well but you all get my gist (lol).
AEW owner Tony Khan just maybe a slightly better booker than NWA owner William "Billy" Corgan.
Orange Cassidy is basically 1997 Goldberg.
Pockets was funny the first few months of AEW...then 3 years later nothing has changed about the character. Jim is right about how he's never going to get any more over than he already currently is. If they want to put some kind of joke belt like a 24/7 championship on Pockets, that makes sense. But is the International title above the TNT/TBS television title (whatever it's called) or is beneath it? AEW the land where nothing makes sense or dollars for that matter
I'm watching this match and my son who is 20 walks in the room and says is that Jeff Jarrett he looks better than most of the people on the AEW roster he should win this match 🤷♂️

Brian Last and a lot of marks will hold a run they didn't like over 20 years ago, against Jarrett for the rest of his life.
Even when I feel the same way about Super Cena or Reign of Terror Triple H, at least I can admit the rest of the world has moved on.
Jarrett and a lot of the fans have moved on. Those who don't and keep trying to black ball him from wrestling, are really just his biggest fans and supporters nowadays even if they don't want to be.

The thing that frustrates me the most about Pockets is that I actually love the idea of the gimmick. If it had a backstory, had been booked properly, and explained why he does the things he does, it could actually be a great gimmick. Instead, they just put him out there every week and have him doing shit for no apparent reason, which makes the entire thing completely stupid.
We don't always get to see Jim disagree with brian but when we do it becomes highly educational.

The Elite and their friends, minus Adam Cole, are kinda Hulk Hogans in that it doesn't work for em if they're not going over. I hope MJF goes full rogue, and insidiously so, and is the HBK to said Hogans and copy Summerslam 2005. I mean, MJF overselling the others' offence like they're all lighting him up with nukes would be awesome!
I liked this match. I went into it thinking Jarrett would win by cheating (as heels do), and it certainly seemed that way at several different spots. Jarrett proved he still has it in the ring (both physically and psychologically) and OC looked great and had the crowd behind him from the beginning. Best moments of the segment for me were OC meeting Shockmaster and Satnam picking up and whipping OC into the ring like a rag doll.
My favorite part was when OC and Shockmaster got up on a forklift and they did the grenade spot.
Brian gets it. Jarrett DOES NOT belong on TV! He's horrible.
