    The security team did turn up- all 20 of them. They just stood around the edge of the room and ran in one-by-one to take shitty bumps.

      😂Yeah. I was wondering if this incident was reported right. Ace Steel bit Omega? The one thing that hasn't been reported is where. If it was on the ass it's hilarious. But tbh, it sounds like Ace is covering for Larry. He's the ringleader in all of this😂

    Cody saw the writing on the wall and left at the right time. It's no coincidence AEW is falling apart since he's been gone. It also doesn't help that Tony Khan has absolutely no control over his locker room. Punk is walking all over him, there's fights going on, people want out of their contracts, etc. He needs to stop being everyone's friend, start being a Boss, and get his house in order. This is embarrassing.

    • @R2CHaze
      @R2CHaze 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Cody didn't see nothing other than his stardom was going to drop when someone as big as CM Punk came in. Nobody was going to look at Cody the same, so why not leave? Also he had problems with the EVPs.

    • @segagenesis7708
      @segagenesis7708 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Correct. Cody knows how Punk is and knows how the Elite are. He could see it coming from a mile away. Add to that, Khan didn't feel that Cody was worth Punk money. Despite all of the work that Cody did backstage, being the only adult back there.

    • @maceomaceo11
      @maceomaceo11 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It's going to be hilarious when Papa Khan shows up to see what the Hell is going on. Shad is a full ass grown man of business, Punk will be quiet and listen and the EVP's will be expected to address as professional business men just exactly what it is that they are doing to make the company as profitable as possible.

    The most disappointing part of this whole thing has been the (subtle) ways many members of the wrestling media have been portraying the events that come off as more favourable for the elite - leaking out certain bits of info piecemeal without qualifying whose camp it is coming from (either from punk, the EVPs or an independent third party), some people tweeting out the memes and jokes in favour of the bucks and omega and even tweeting their show releasing today.
    The “wrestling media” is neither objective nor ethical, and it shows.

    This’s one of the reasons I love this show. They give the honest truth about the scenario and who’s involved. A rare thing to find in the wrestling business. I’d probably do the same thing if I was in punks shoes, and if three guys knocked down my dressing room door and got in my face when I clearly wanted to be left alone I’d get in their faces too. So would a lot of other people, to be honest.

      I love the show, but Jim sometimes goes whole hog into something I think is obviously a work., like in this case or what some wrestler says on Twitter. Sometimes I wonder if he leaves that alone to keep some of the kayfabe magic until it becomes more obvious. It's an interesting dynamic.

    • @LordJuzzie
      @LordJuzzie 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      @@davecomeau5719 Actually I find it the reverse there are plenty of wrestling fans who think abouslutly everything is a work. There are plenty of people who think that Montreal was a work. Very often its based on absolutly no evidence, or its based on the wrestling company deciding to take something that really happened and turn it into a work.
      This is not a work. They may attempt to turn it into one later, but its not.

    The issue is no one respects Tony Khan. From MJF to CM Punk to the Elite. None of these guys take the "boss" seriously. The wrestlers are too used to telling Tony what's going to happen instead of the other way around. Tony should strip the EVP titles, hire a booker and make it clear that what the booker says goes. And if anyone has a problem with that here is what you're owed and good luck in your future endeavors.

    I'm 100% behind Punk on this. Many AEW fans are saying fire him LOL its no wonder none of them nor the EVPS have a sense for business. Punk is by far the biggest draw in the company. Highest segments and google searched. Bucks arent even top 10 in the company for google searches. Segment wise, since Omega return all the the Elites segments lose 200k viewers. No joke they lose 20% of their audience when they're on tv. Idk if its because they dont like the style or just know they're winning so whats the point.
    Other thing is these are EVPs, why are you storming the locker room of an individual who is obviously HOT. Address it in the morning like pros, and have a sit down once everything has cooled down. You don't 3v1 a guy who just shit on you with no regard for 10 mins and expect a "good" outcome.
    Also for the company in general, Punk and a handful of others do all the PR for AEW. The Bucks do nothing. It is similar to when Cody was doing everything and again no Bucks anywhere. Kenny was doing video game stuff, so I will give him a pass. But if you're an EVP you gotta be at those comic cons and news stations doing PR to promote the company. These guys want to fuck around, buy shoes, and upload stuff on YT to draw the audience. That's the reason nobody searches them on google because they're not out there doing the work, and relying on word of mouth. Its why they were stagnant in ratings and house draws because 1 EVP was out there actually putting an effort into growing.
    Its pretty embarrassing when you look at Twitter or SM and everyone is pissed at Punk but doesn't see it for what it is. The Bucks rather than doing business and having a huge draw match with FTR, dropped the titles and then put different ones on themselves lol. And they didn't even get pinned while losing those belts. Can anyone see the issue here or they just blind? Think about why Cody left, connect dots, and it starts to make sense.

It was a messy situation, but Punk started all this. Business aside, Punk was terribly in the wrong for what he said in the media scrum and for striking first against The Elite, and also Steel for biting a man wtf. They tried Punk because they felt they could because of his UFC debacle years ago. What they failed to realize is that Punk is a legit martial arts practitioner, the UFC thing wasn't handled properly-he should not have been in there against the opponent he had anyway(Props for commiting regardless of the outcome, most other people wouldn't have), and they don't live in reality thinking that they could throw their weight around as if they're gods and they're not. They tried to punk him (pun intended) and it backfired.

    Everyone on the internet is tearing punk into shreds, but honestly everyone involved deserves some fault. But I feel like everyone’s love of omega and the bucks blinds them to this. They’re just as at fault in this situation than anyone imo.

    • @segagenesis7708
      @segagenesis7708 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      They have fault. But here's the issue and why Punk is getting ripped to shreds. When you are the Champion, highest paid and favorite of Tony Khan, why are you even bothering with this foolishness? Like, Adam Page made his comment to you face to face, but you make yours in a promo when you know he can't come out? Instead of just addressing him backstage and leaving it at that? And now you're running him down AGAIN, when you know he can't come out, when you should have been over it? This is Punk's reputation. It's always been his reputation. No matter how much you give him, he'll find something to get mad about, and harp on it. He practically challenged the EVPs to a fight in the scrum. Don't go back to your locker room and act surprised if someone comes looking for one. Now, 3 on 1 would be BS, but now Warner Execs are involved and the main event at Grand Slam is at risk. Which would cost AEW millions. All because you couldn't just be peace with winning. You just had to get your proverbial hit back ten fold.

    • @davyjones2032
      @davyjones2032 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Depends on where you go. The love of Punk blinds people maybe more. They were hijacking shows for years. If anything the fanbases are similar. Intitially bonded by mutual hate of WWE. I can see both viewpoints. The Elite and AEW have controlled wrestling media for some years now. People just ignored it because it was anti Vince and WWE. People don't necessarily care if something is biased as long as it's favorable to their opinions.
      So it's a group of people who are dorks who only do things there way with a niche audience vs a guy who goes scorched earth the moment he's upset. Bound to butt heads.

    I just saw a report that The Bucks went to Punk's locker room door and started bagging on it. Punk did not answer. The Bucks then proceeded to kick the door in. If this is true, it puts a different context on the whole confrontation. And if this is true, the Circue De Elite should be relieved of their EVP titles, their Trios titles and their titles as pretend professional wrestlers.
