The Brick Bank is tough because of the ground floor printed windows plus the sand green window frames can be expensive! I applaud your efforts!! I found parting out the modulars I didn’t have addictive and really educational as far as using Bricklink and finding unique (and cheaper) alternatives to some of those old rare parts! Good luck and thanks for commenting! I appreciate you! 🙂
(And i always move “minor sets” inside. So like Big Bang set is moved inside to one modular (actually this one) and in others it is the older vignettes where there is Easter-sets or the back to Asgard set.
I just spend 5 hours typing in numbers to order all the pieces for this set. That would have been a whole lot more expensive if I had not found this video. Many thanks, sir, you saved me about 1200 euro`s. btw, I did one thing a bit different. to avoid the color difference,(and save costs ofc) I did not buy the 1 by 8 sandgreens, I bought 100 1 by 4`s instead.
Awesome!! Glad I could help! 😃 I used 1x6 sand green bricks mainly because I found them on the Lego Pick-a-brick wall at my local store! The 1x4 bricks are a perfect solution!! Thank for watching and the great comment!
I have parted sets out myself. - and there is a big price difference between the “pet store”modular and this one. In terms of color. - so i switched the two - because buying the blue brick with the ripple in it is cheaper than the green one. ….. and you need less of those bricks to the pet-shop. - so that is a tip, switch colors between the two sets.
Recoloring is a good idea! I’m this case though I already had the Petshop and wanted to keep the same color of the original modular! Thanks for watching!
Very good video and I might do this at some point so it's good to know especially about those new part numbers for modernized pieces. Do you think normal sand green 1x2 pieces would look too bland?
🤔 Not necessarily. Tbh the profile bricks or bricks with groove make up very little of the building’s front façade. I appreciate you watching and commenting!!
Yeah the price of these original Modular’s is nutty. Especially since they really don’t have much going on in the way of interior details! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I was just saying if you swapped the grooved bricks for masonry bricks it would look much better (and cost less!!). I just pulled my old modified green grocer out of a box… I built it in Black & White with bricks from my childhood collection!… so it’s quite yellowed! I’m going to peroxide my bricks and rebuild my modified version! I saw someone replace the hinged cupola roof with a dome… looked really great! th-cam.com/users/JstarAtlanta
@@clipsiesbricks I pulled out my first modification of Green Grocer today... and since I had built it with mostly bricks from the 70s/80s I decided to peroxide them! So hopefully I'll rebuild on Sunday! So many ideas!
The short answer is more than I should have! Unfortunately I don’t have a good idea and all of the Bricklink orders have been purged from my account. That said I think you could easily do it for under $300. I also didn’t order much directly from Lego. That likely would have helped. I was much more efficient and economical with parting out Cafe Corner!
Great video man, up and coming channel for sure!
Thank you for the kind words! 😃
I did something similar with the petshop, and it's turned out almost similar. Rigjt now I'm trying to do the brick bank .

Also a great idea! I did this with my grocery store MOC I’m currently working on!

First time watching your content. The green grocer is on my Mount Rushmore of modulars
Thanks Mayo! It’s a great modular and has so much potential for modification and/or recoloring!
man very nice..!
Thanks! Appreciate you watching!
Awesome job man! It looks really good with the green masonry bricks and I think that's a very wise and reasonable alt to the slot brick in sand green.
Thanks BrooksBricks!! I’m happy with the way it turned out. Plus it adds a little bit of customization to my city modulars!

I knew I had the original, but I had modified mine, kind of (by adding one floor), but man $800? Dang, that is, wow.....

I wouldnt have spended about 300$ on getting the pieces need in the front 😅
Definitely wasn’t worth it to me!! I really like the look of the masonry profile bricks! Thanks for watching and commenting!

how much did you spent?
