Graces is FASCINATING because it's pretty much universally considered to be the one of the best combat systems...and worst stories. So it's a question of what's most important to you: The combat or the story? It's combat for me and Pascal and Sophie are so awesome that I can look past the story and just love their hijinx. But for others...OOF.
I’m honestly looking forward to seeing where this all goes, I feel the next logical step would be to round out the ps3 line of games before bringing back another branch. Give us Xillia 1 and 2 and if those still do well as they originally did then introduce people to games pre-symphonia. That’s my take on it
Indeed! I too am excited to see this project taking fruit if the latter remasters are on similar quality on Graces F Remastered since TOSE do seem competent and hopefully if pulls through especially with the rumoured Xillia leak The main thing appealing to me, is obviously making Tales a lot more accessible and the likelihood that newer fans who got into it thanks to Arise’s success can hop on in, among the library being almost on par with Final Fantasy, Ys, Atelier and Dragon Quest Just mostly at the time a lot were JP exclusive, and some still are, so hopefully the Barriers do slowly break down from that, so everyone can play Also “Marie” it’s pronounced
Played Vesperia and loved it. Tried Symphonia, struggled to get into it, you can definitely feel its age. I hope we get remasters of Xillia 1 & 2 along with Abyss
Man i just love graces f...the combat is fast and technical, the mystic arte is flashy and quick..and each character play different and fun..the story is text book anime shonen but really told well especially with the added story in ps3 ver..and the battle music is just chef kiss.. I hope after graces f they remastered abyss and add to all console and pc..
high unlikely for a spin off to get one, I like Radiant even though the plot is kinda weak and feels like a mobile game at times, understandable since it's harder to work around characters with established lore in their respective universe
Excited to try Graces after completing Berseria for the first time. I’ve also never finished Abyss but I would love to see a remaster for modern gen consoles
The Tales Of Series is my all time favorite gaming series . ive played 11 main titles and while i like some more than others i really do love all 11. And this Remaster Project is awesome. I hope they bring all games ..from Xillia 2 going back...to modern consoles. I will buy and rebuy everyone of them lol
I am excited, as well! For Tales of Graces f Remastered, I decided to go for the physical Xbox version to show my support for physical JRPG's on the platform. I did the same with Tales of Symphonia Remastered but am still disappointed that they didn't include the sequel, Dawn of the New World when they did do that for a lower initial price back on the PlayStation 3. As for the next game in the franchise to be remastered? Tales of the Abyss would be nice since it never released in Europe until it came to 3DS so there are a lot of people who never played it (including me) and it's said to be a great game. But another one I'd really want to see is Tales of Zestiria. I think it's a wonderful game and it's a PlayStation-exclusive to my knowledge. So having it on Xbox and Switch/Switch 2/PC would certainly bring it to a much wider audience.
I was also really hoping for Abyss or Xillia. Graces is alright but not really near some of my favourites in the franchise; absolutely hope it sells well though!
Tales of phantasia is so good. I played it on gba and found out it's on snes. It seems like the perfect time to remake or even remaster. I would be happy with a port.
The thing about Tales of Destiny is there is a ps2 remake that blows the original out of the water which was japan exclusive for the longest time it has a English translation but im still hoping we get that one as well along with Tales of Destiny 2
I hope that one of these games gets a remake treatment. I think Tales of Abyss is a good candidate for that, but even just a remaster would be much appreciated. I've been wishing for Xenosaga to be shown some love for years. I know the Xenoblade series is pretty popular and well loved but I personally just want to party with space Jesus and friends again, Xenosaga 3 was so censored, it would be nice to get a version without all the bs.
Been playing the Tales games since way back when Destiny was released on Psx, this is awesome news, i hope for a TOP hd remake, Eternia, destiny DC, Destiny 2 and Rebirth hd ports and remasters of Abyss and Legendia.
I'm happy with Graces cuz it has the most phenomenal combat in JRPGs outside of MAYBE kingdom hearts. That being said, I'm craving Xillia and Abyss as well
I would pay $30 per game just for the iso file with attached emulator with turbo mode ans some minor toggleable memory edits for encounter rates, currency/exp multipliers and visual glitches. Odds are it would run better than their regular ports, be cheaper to make and easier to preserve than the pc version when we make the architecture leap one day.
Definitely, Tales is my favorite JRPG series of all time. I want a Tales of Phantasia reboot, is the only one in the series hard to get to, because is the oldest and roughest.
I am personally very excited for the Remaster project. I have never played Graces and my favorite game is Abyss. I will only buy the older games Remasters though. And I finally understand what it is I dislike about Xillias design and onwards. The characters look soulless. Abyss and Graces have very expressive characters and animations despite the initial limitations of the PS2 and the Wii. Xillia and onward just look so stiff compared to that. Anyway, I am excited to get my hands on Graces next week. I have never played this game. I just hope I have fun with it.
For anyone on the fence about Graces Combat, try knocking up the difficulty till the games feels more challenging. Also swap which character you main every now and them, they are all fun to play. Also playing on harder difficulties give you way more SP which is a nice reward for uping the challenging. Also characters can eventually a skill the enables a FREE mystic art at level 1,2 or 3, for hitting a combo of 25, 50 or 75. This feels really cool, especially with HUBERT. If anyone has any questions on playing harder difficulties im happy to give some tips that will make things abit easier to manage.
Could you manifest a proper "Tales of" Musou game. I want like 190 playable characters and like 5 alternate costumes for each. Locations from all over the Tales franchise...if that's not asking too much.
Definitely hope they get to the 2d ones too. Especially Japan only titles (even though Rebirth's proper fan translation just came out lol). Can never hurt for those not wanting to emulate. But Destiny 2 and Innocence R and... Whatever version of Phantasia they please would be great
Graces F is one of my favourites, will eventually buy it again but a bit unfortunate timing with FFVII:Rebirth coming out a week later lol. Oh man Eternal Sonata, I hope they do that. I will buy every single remaster they do!
Xillia and Abyss are probably the next two games to get a remaster. But i really hope they do a Collection of the 2D games too! I really wanna replay Phantasia and Eternia. And i never played Destiny 1-2 or even Rebirth.
So I know I’m probably alone on this but I REALLY want a remaster of Destiny, the PSX version (although a translated port of the PS2 version would be stellar) I’d love to see Namco team up with the fan translators who did Rebirth and the PS2 Destiny games (like what Falcom did with the Crossbell Trails games) I also really want an Eternia port and even Legendia
ToA iz the game I would love to play - I was too young to enjoy it when it was released, and too broke when the DS port was released Older now and more economically secure so I'm super excited for it Would love to do Tales of Destiny Director's Cut too - I heard it's the magnum opus for the Tales' 2D fighting gameplay
I wanted a port of the PS3 version of eternal sonata for a very long time. Even tho it's not a tales game it was tales adjacent in a way to me. Love these games.
I'm a giant Tales Of fan (hell look at my pfp) and I want to be optimistic about the Remastered project but I'm not getting my hopes up yet they can talk all they want but actions speak louder than words
Bandai are not gonna bundle the og dot hack series due to poor sales of the dot hack gu trilogy. There also not going to remaster the xenosaga series either sadly.
Can't give up hope, especially with the Baten Kaitos remasters. If that can happen I have some hope for Xenosaga (don't know as much on the dot hack side of things)
there is some hope for Xenosaga due to the success of the Xenoblade Trilogy. There is a much higher brand awareness for the Xeno series and with Kos-mos even being featured as a blade in XC2 there is notable awareness of Xenosaga in particular.
I am happy but worried. Simply put: I think Tales is EXPONENTIALLY better in 2D...but all the GOOD 2D games never got US releases! So most of the Western fanbase hasn't had a chance to experience them and discuss if they're better or worse. So I'm HOPING we can get a few but I DEEPLY fear Namco Bandai deciding to ruin them by making them 3D like they did with Hearts R (which is also objectively better written in the DS version as well...not that it ever got a real translation anyway). So I really sincerely hope that the Remastered Project can finally introduce the rest of the world to the wonders of 2D Tales and maybe if they're received well enough they can trying going back to 2D for a bit! To those curious about my reasoning: I got into Tales with Eternia which was sold to me as "An RPG with a 4-player co-op 2D fighting game for a battle system"...and it WAS! Kinda. The problem was that game has a really small cast and mages suck to play as. So it's great 2-player, but not 4-player. It even had an item called Combo Command which lets you equip ALL of your Artes BUT you have to do fighting game inputs to perform them! So I was hoping maybe the next game in the series would be like Eternia but with a better roster and instead we got...Symphonia, which I did NOT like because movement is tied to what enemy you're locked on to and it has no air game. Destiny Director's Cut on PS2 is my dream Tales game. Playing the fan patch. One of the best games ever made. To go further, restricting movement to a 2D plane like the pre-Berseria games allows for more moves equipped because you can do directional inputs. However, in 3D you're constantly futzing around with the targetting and crowd control is wonky. In 2D Manual, you don't have to worry about your lock-on and bunching enemies together to hit multiple at once is VERY viable, though at the same time this also puts your own party in more danger. I mean look: Tales was BORN in 2D. It started on SNES. So much of the mechanics were designed with 2D in mind and moving it to 3D has been either kinda wonky or frustratingly generic. Oh and as much as I bash it, Hearts R is indeed one of my favorite 3D battle systems (what with them bringing back Combo Command out of NOWHERE) right up there with Graces.
1- Remastering the games is good but i gave doubts the project will be sucessfull. bamco has made a bad management of Tales over the years and despite Arise´s sales numbers i dont know if the graces F rerelease has a ton of players lining up to buy it. 2- Arise was counted has a sucess but i think the only reasons it sold as well was an actual marketing campain (mostly around next gen graphics) and a slow year for jrpgs. 3- Remastering graces makes some sence since it was said Arise took inspiration from it. 4- Making dlc for arise was one bad decision. It was ot great ad it took to long to come out. Bad way to use arise´s sucess. 5- Graces has the best combat in the series. Lets hope thet dont screw things on the technical side- like symnphonia. 6- Abyss is the game i most wanted rereleased. 7. remastering games is fine but we need new and good new tales of games. Hard to do both without big money but here we are.
Tales of symphonia was the first tales I played. I loved it but I absolutely love tales of Xillia 1 and 2!! But I do hope Bandai namco continues remastering a lot of their games specially the dot hack series’
One of my favorite JRPG series, I feel obliged to buy Xilia and Abyss because I emulated them. Otherwise I would fucking kill for Xenosaga and Eternal Sonata on Steam
I just want the PS2 versions of Tales of Destiny that never got localized, and well, a far better localization than the GBA port of Tales of Phantasia.
Graces combat can be hit or miss for majority of people, you can't play this game like other Tales games, if you wan to enjoys you need to study the game mechanic and character's playstyle which I highly doubt most people are willing to do. As much as I love this game I don't think this game gonna do well sell-wise.
I think whats gonna turn me off in this game is that its pretty similar to BERSERIA... I dont know but, I really hate berserias combat... its the most messy arte system... you just press a button then you already excuting an arte... and some artes has combo strings so you must be really good at timing... which as an OLD SCHOOL TALES gamer like me hate... I still want a dedicated attack button and arte button... Im still waiting for a ABYSS remaster, and XILLIA is still the game I wanted to play...
@@erickreyes7902 You can think of A-Artes like a regular attack from other games and B-Artes like the tradition Artes, I prefer it this way because it add more variety to the combat and you doesn't need to worry about TP either because this game use CC, you can go all-out in every fight without holding anything back. But yeah, I can understand why Graces is one of the most hated Tales games, old fans doesn't like it because it so different from tradition Tales while newcomers don't want to give it a chance because of the graphic and not to mention you will need to learning their unique mechanic as well. Only small group of weirdo enjoys Graces combat and I'm one of them lol.
@@erickreyes7902it really is nothing like berseria. the gameplay of berseria is dogshit. so honestly i don't know what you mean that it's supposedly similar to graces that lets you do smooth comboing relatively easy tbh. graces has "regular" artes. it is just that the standard attacks are also named artes. you don't have to be a pro combo master or whatever but i would at least recommend trying graces out as i had lots of fun with the battles back then. Other than that I agree on Abyss and Xillia. I want to replay them badly.
Destiny DC, is the best of the modern/no mp style games. but i really hope they do remaster eternia and abyss. however, to this day, my favorite Tales of story is still phantasia so i hope they could give us a remaster or even a remake(but hope they keep it side-scroller combat).
I've only played Tails of Hearts R. On Vita. And attempted to play the bad port of Tails of Symphonia on the wii? Ps3? I don't remeber but there was a bug and I was soft locked unable to progress both times I attempted to play... both inside 2 hours of the game, in different spots. 😅 so I really would like to try again with the series because i liked hearts.
Symphonia is still the only game in the series I've heard is bad enough that people couldn't even play/finish it so I expect Graces will be better but always good to wait and see
Tales of the Abyss was ported to 3DS over a decade ago and the cartridge is like $100. I wouldn't call that not too long ago or very accessible.

That’s my take on it
Indeed! I too am excited to see this project taking fruit if the latter remasters are on similar quality on Graces F Remastered since TOSE do seem competent and hopefully if pulls through especially with the rumoured Xillia leak
The main thing appealing to me, is obviously making Tales a lot more accessible and the likelihood that newer fans who got into it thanks to Arise’s success can hop on in, among the library being almost on par with Final Fantasy, Ys, Atelier and Dragon Quest
Just mostly at the time a lot were JP exclusive, and some still are, so hopefully the Barriers do slowly break down from that, so everyone can play
Also “Marie” it’s pronounced
We're going to overcome all the barriers! I don't even care if that's more of a Trails thing
@ or a Fairy Tail thing :)
We need to show it some love
Tales of The World Radiant Mythology series (PSP) & Tales of The World (GB & GBA) need a remake or enhanced graphics
high unlikely for a spin off to get one, I like Radiant even though the plot is kinda weak and feels like a mobile game at times, understandable since it's harder to work around characters with established lore in their respective universe
Excited to try Graces after completing Berseria for the first time. I’ve also never finished Abyss but I would love to see a remaster for modern gen consoles
Abyss and Legendia are the ones I wanna see the most, but I love every single game in the series so I'm happy with anything lol.
I’m just hoping for Abyss and Xillia! I’ve never played them
The Tales Of Series is my all time favorite gaming series . ive played 11 main titles and while i like some more than others i really do love all 11.
Zestiria is available on PC at least already but yes it would be nice if games like Zestiria and Berseria could come to other consoles as well
I'm really so excited too, I love tales of series remastered so much more to playing it
I was also really hoping for Abyss or Xillia. Graces is alright but not really near some of my favourites in the franchise; absolutely hope it sells well though!
Tales of phantasia is so good. I played it on gba and found out it's on snes. It seems like the perfect time to remake or even remaster. I would be happy with a port.
They need to focus on firing the Arise director too.
Weeerrk 🪭
Agreed
The thing about Tales of Destiny is there is a ps2 remake that blows the original out of the water which was japan exclusive for the longest time it has a English translation but im still hoping we get that one as well along with Tales of Destiny 2
We can make it happen, or at least dream of it
I hope that one of these games gets a remake treatment.
I need a tales of phantasia with full manual mode instead of needing a accessory to use it whether that’s a remaster or a remake
The combat in this game is wow!
Been playing the Tales games since way back when Destiny was released on Psx, this is awesome news, i hope for a TOP hd remake, Eternia, destiny DC, Destiny 2 and Rebirth hd ports and remasters of Abyss and Legendia.
One day my dreams will come true and we'll get a legit remake of Symphonia. Most memorable game from my childhood.. beat it more than 10 times.
Tales of Phantasia? Our latest port was pretty horrendous on the GBA
Waiting on that TOX and Tales of the abyss remaster
i'm not kidding i would absolutely LOSE MY MIND if they brought back eternal sonata.
Here's hoping!
Graces is my 2nd favorite after Abyss, so I am excited for you to experience Graces.
I would love to play Innocence R and Hearts again
Those both seem like games that would be on the list, probably after the ones I mainly talked about in the video
Hearts R got that Vita version in Japanese voice acting but Innocence R on the Vita never left Japan.
If Hearts R gets the remaster treatment, it better have proper translation.
I need a remaster of xenosaga 1-3 and .Hack series. I totally would buy these series day one
i hope they include the 3 tales of the world radiant mythology on the psp. i love kanonno and want to understand her story in the 2 sequels
That would be nice, but my friend is already trying to use my powers to manifest Xenoblade musou, so we'll have to see if I can get both
@CommRio I'll take that too.
Maybe you know this already, but there was one released exclusive to Japan, it's not bad but it doesn't really check your list off :/
@TalesofCROWE yeah...that's why I said a proper one. lol
I would 100% a Tales Of Musou. ❤
And i never played Destiny 1-2 or even Rebirth.
tales of graces would have been my first pick to start with so im good with it
I need them to all be available on steam with co op remote play together PLEASE
So I know I’m probably alone on this but I REALLY want a remaster of Destiny, the PSX version (although a translated port of the PS2 version would be stellar) I’d love to see Namco team up with the fan translators who did Rebirth and the PS2 Destiny games (like what Falcom did with the Crossbell Trails games) I also really want an Eternia port and even Legendia
I know Falcom games have been unique in their willingness to use fan translations, but hopefully Bandai Namco can go the same route
In the case of the PS1 version of Destiny it was untranslated the games TEXT was still in English the voice acting however was NOT.
ToA iz the game I would love to play - I was too young to enjoy it when it was released, and too broke when the DS port was released
Older now and more economically secure so I'm super excited for it
Would love to do Tales of Destiny Director's Cut too - I heard it's the magnum opus for the Tales' 2D fighting gameplay
If I can get Tales of the Abyss Remastered, i will be the most happy man 😊
Would tales of Phantasia do well of it was remade in 3D
I wanted a port of the PS3 version of eternal sonata for a very long time. Even tho it's not a tales game it was tales adjacent in a way to me. Love these games.
I'd love to play Phantasia again! ❤
This is the only chance I'll get to get my friends into Abyss. Please Namco don't screw me😭
Well, I'd be intrigued by Legendia at least, was never released here and I keep forgetting it exists, unlike Rebirth, kinda weird.
Yes, bring back the very first Tales (Phantasia) AND Tales of Destiny ❤❤❤
for the next one I hope they remake xillia 1 and 2, and every other tales of game. such a great series
I'm a giant Tales Of fan (hell look at my pfp) and I want to be optimistic about the Remastered project but I'm not getting my hopes up yet they can talk all they want but actions speak louder than words
Honestly I would love to play Innocence, Tempest, Destiny 1 and 2 and Rebirth. But honestly we are overdue for a new mothership title!
I just wait for a fully translated psp remasters games
I find it funny that in june i went on a ps3 era tales buying spree on ebay days before graces remaster got announced
I can happily say i own too many tales games
Better too many than too few
I Dream of a tales of symphonia remake (reà remake with graphism like tales if arise) so beatiful for eyes
Hope we can get tales of destiny director's cut+TOD2 at some point
im looking forward to symphonia sequel remaster
Eternia is still my top tier
I hope there are phantasia and eternia remake for next gen console and pc
Tales of DS remasters would be super cool
Eternal Sanata is my favorite
radiant mythology series especially the third game that didnt go outside of Japan will be torture to wait for....
Once they have the project well underway it would be nice if they gave us an idea of a general priority of which games will be done next
for that even the 2nd game of that never left Japan only the first once did on the PSP but it sold really badly.
as long as they all come to PC
Destiny DC, Destiny 2 and Rebirth should have been priority, stuck on ps2 with no official english translation.
Yep Namco could contract the fan translation groups liek what Falcom did with Azure and Zero.
I can understand that desire, I'm not surprised they went with PS3 related titles first as it would be less work for them
would love to have tales of abyss remaster
or hopefully the Xillias they've been lost to the ps3 era and cant be play anymore :(
I just want the PS2 versions of Tales of Destiny that never got localized, and well, a far better localization than the GBA port of Tales of Phantasia.
If I had to choose the next Tales remastered I go with Tales of Legendia
I'm always ready to learn a new system for Tales, since I don't think I've played any Tales of games with similar gameplay consecutively before
@@erickreyes7902it really is nothing like berseria. the gameplay of berseria is dogshit. so honestly i don't know what you mean that it's supposedly similar to graces that lets you do smooth comboing relatively easy tbh. graces has "regular" artes. it is just that the standard attacks are also named artes.
you don't have to be a pro combo master or whatever but i would at least recommend trying graces out as i had lots of fun with the battles back then.
Other than that I agree on Abyss and Xillia. I want to replay them badly.
@erickreyes7902 Berseria is dog shit compared to Graces F's combat.
Tales of Destiny HD-2D remake!
Symphonia is still the only game in the series I've heard is bad enough that people couldn't even play/finish it so I expect Graces will be better but always good to wait and see
I would love a tales of Eternia remaster. I would play it gain but my PSP broke lol
I a want Tales of Eternia remake 😥
