Tyrone Coates! One of the worlds best singers ... Range stability and strength ... It's a little sad when you see someone as talented as him never get the exposure... When you see all the stupid shows on TV ... At least he is the real thing ... I can speak from experience as I have won some of the biggest singing contests in the USA and toured after that for 14 years with some of the biggest acts on the world stage... Tyrone rocks and clearly could sing softly and go in any direction he wished
I love your music. This is my favourite song - Tyrone has an amazing voice. I've actually spent time training with Tyrone in karate but only found out about his music career after moving away. Wish I'd have known before! Great musician and amazing Sensei!
well - i played keys on the flash in japan track - i might have done this one as well....but i had a lot of other work on at that time - so this might have been someone else ?!? Alan got me involved after the GonnaStepOnYou session which i played keys on as well - the bombers were a new project for him after the party boys had done their run....then started going south. From what i saw at least - it was Alan that pretty much did most of the work all the tracks (P.Boys & Bombers) - even the Step On You track was a drum machine - which alan programmed:) The Flash in Japan track - Alan also did the dots (i.e.wrote up a chart) - for me to play the lines - which took about half hr to do all keyboard parts. The drums were also that same drum machine (StepOnYou) but Alan flew over ol mate from london (John Coglan) to play drums on top of it - which the result is more John than the drum machine - though that drum machine is still faint in the background:) So technically speaking - for both those bands - he was the main driver, producer, orchestrator....per se - so in all fairness - both bands should have been called Alan Lancaster & the Party Boys/Bombers - as far as Christie/Brewster and the rest - their egos were a lot more than Alan's - hence why i think Alan walked away from it all:) He was the only one with the most down to earth personality - very friendly - always rolled up a doob - have a good chat - really nice guy - the rest were a bit up themselves in the partyboys - and given the success of Brewster/Christie/Borich/Swan/Harvey - collectively they would have only sold about 2-3 million records in their careers - and of course Alan has sold 100 million...no one really knows - including him - lol The Bombers crew were nice enough - did one gig with them - they didnt have any ego issues - & brewster seemed to come back to earth at this stage - from what i observed at least:) The funny thing about that one (and only gig) i did with the bombers - playing on the side of the stage (hidden) - the support band was my original 1st band i started 8 years prior....then had it hijacked by the guitarist...causing me to walk away from it - lol....and now im playing with the main act - Karma at play here:) That night - I also introduced Alan to another bass player friend i had from my days doing buddhism - Bob Daisley (Ozzy Osborne) My old band were watching all this - smoke coming out of their ears - hahahahaha......oh well - such is life! So yeah - let the truth be known - im not here to drum up publicity for my latest tell all book or whatnot - if anything - i think Alan deserved a lot more credit than the rest gave him - hence why he had to walk away - (my thoughts). I don't have a band nor did i ever go down that path post those years - i just wanted a regular salary job - wholesome wife that didnt take drugs or fucked around.....2 and a half divorces later - im still searching:(
Great band every Tuesday night at the Crows Nest Hotel with the crowds getting bigger each week as word got out about this awesome band bought the CD as soon as it was released.
Class live band round Sydney back in the day, what 1990/91. All those great venues that aren't around any more, and then supporting big touring acts. Alan Lancaster struck gold with Party Boys and then these guys.
I agree very very underated! Tyrone gave up in disgust I think, after the band started to lose ground - he moved to the states to pursue his Martial arts business and doesn't apparently perform or sing at all. Peter Heckeberg also lives in the US now but comes back to Oz yearly and sometimes does some gigs while he's here. My husband Steve Crofts was the guitarist in the Bombers - but now unfortunately suffers from Huntingtons' Disease and hasn't been able to play for a few years now.
Great band, very underated! What ever happened to the lead singer Tyrone? Great set of pipes. Caught this band a few times at the Bourke and Collecter in Parramatta in the early 90's, awesome live act.......
Tyrone what a voice. I saw them live supporting Alice Cooper and was blown away. I bought the album next day. Does Tyrone have any other recordings than this album?

Great band listen to them all the time here in England 🏴 Rip to Alan he will be sadly missed 🥲
Great guys and even better musicians! Had the pleaure of seeing them so many times, powerful and brilliant!

What a line-up! Absolutely top class voice incl. Sax!! ..and all the other guys: Alan, J. Brewster, P. Heckenberg, Steve Crofts, Organ (unknown)

The Bombers crew were nice enough - did one gig with them - they didnt have any ego issues - & brewster seemed to come back to earth at this stage - from what i observed at least:)
The funny thing about that one (and only gig) i did with the bombers - playing on the side of the stage (hidden) - the support band was my original 1st band i started 8 years prior....then had it hijacked by the guitarist...causing me to walk away from it - lol....and now im playing with the main act - Karma at play here:)
