Totally agree with every single word and the worst thing about that vertical short form videos is they're very addictive and time consuming .

Totally agree with you. After spending time scrolling we end up with regrets all the time. I still miss how instagram was just for posting photos and TH-cam just for original videos...nothing more, nothing less. After introduction of reels and shorts and other new features, apps became complicated and don't have the same feeling as before.

I literally deleted Instagram to avoid the mindless void of Reels and now I’ve fallen into the void of Shorts. You’re right, the content is literally the same: Videos of other peoples’ content, glimpses of interviews, shows, movies and stand up comedy shows.
I did find a few contents creators I like and love to watch but yeah, most of it is recycled content (garbage).

Totally agree with what you said regarding shorts and reels. I only watch those shorts which are uploaded by the youtubers I am subscribed to ( the creators that usually make long format videos).

Not only are most vertical short videos carbon copies, they're mostly very cringey but get very high views. Many creators are getting discouraged that long videos are no longer getting the exposure they deserve, thus moving on to becoming a short video creator.
But you, Keo, is a whole different breed. You don't chase clout & keep up with these high quality videos. I appreciate it a lot!

The amount of intentionality in this video is incredible. The suggestive breaks to do what you need to do and mindful walks and socialization makes this video so meaningful. Such quality content over a short video and a small topic like a beautifully written essay.

Well, I feel the same about reels and shorts coz they literally are the same just copying pasting and no quality, no efforts, no credits. And the worst thing is u can't knw who was actually the owner.

Instagram and TH-cam had been my escape after a whole day of interacting with some toxic people and being stressed at work (I suffered from anxiety during these times). But after I resigned and moved back home, I tried interacting more with my neighbors and I noticed that I seldom use these apps except watching videos with quality content. Even as an introvert, after doing this, I noticed that my mental health improved a lot for the better.
Thank you so much Keo, your channel is one of my few go-to channels ever since and you never disappoints. Keep doing amazing videos!

Well I learned it the hard way lol, the last like a week I was using my phone like crazy, playing games, scrolling through TH-cam shorts for like 1 hour (which I realized after looking at the "time watched" feature) and 2 days back I literally started getting an eye twitch and I kid you not it's so damn irritating, thankfully that led me to not at all use the phone and today I used it to watch like 20mins worth of content! Thanks Keo for reminding us that!

Wait, you can leave your room during quarantine in Japan?? When I quarantined in Australia we were very literally confined to our room for two weeks! Leaving your room seems to kind of defeat the purpose of quarantining haha
yes, japan allows ppl to leave your quarantine place to get necessities like food or run errands, as long as they don't take public transport.
I'm quite surprised by this as well, since I recently saw Tokyo Lens quarantine in Japan. Unless he's finished his 7 day quarantine and is staying in hotels while waiting for his more permanent accommodation .
technically I dont have to quarantine at all but the school wanted me to

I deleted Instagram over a year ago and I have so much time on my hands doing more productive things, even just reading. I've noticed that I don't go on my phone as often. I sometimes even forget to take my phone with me because I'm not glued to it as much anymore.
TH-cam and BeReal is the only social media I still use and I try to never go on YT Shorts. BeReal is literally just 2 seconds during the day and I can still see what my friends are up to, so I really like that.

Haven't realized that even if TH-cam short or reels are "short videos" it is really consuming my time, I might reflect on myself and do other things other than watching those short videos.
short videos turns into long sessions
I've been struggling with depression since i got jobless in 2021. That have lead to make me think that I have nothing I'm good at. So social media has been consuming my time ⏲️ for almost all day. At least your videos make me realize that I'm not alone in this journey 🥲🔥❤️ and I can get better
