So when I was researching what case I wanted I found out neojamma (his contact info should be in the other 2 vids of this 3 part mvs build) had developed a supergun kit specifically for this lions3 case, I sent him a message and ended up buying his kit along with this little battery holder and a few other bits and pieces along with his kit. Its a pcb he designed and you have to solder the legs on. You can see me install it in an earlier video.
@@ROX99 i have not seen those other than a recent reddit post. I would assume its a drop in replacement without the bridging and extra steps in this video but have not installed one so cant say for sure
I did the same bios mod to my MVS with a chip i got off of aliexpress. Didn't know you needed to solder those two top left pins together to the cap. Had to remove it as it became corrupted and installed a neobiosmasta i got off someone on Etsy. I thought it was just a bad chip or using a 161 in 1. Now I'm thinking it went bad because of those pins not being soldered.
@LameGaming yes. I used it for a few days while I was building and testing my OMVS build. Then my games wouldn't boot up properly and was getting ram errors or something like that. I had a neobiosmasta or direct solder chip at the time and went with direct solder since I wanted the challenge. I removed the chip and did the NBM. No issues so far. Now I kind of want to try the chip method again lol.
@@disciple_316 wow thats crazy it even worked. I assumed the bios was pulling power from those 2 legs connected to the cap, I should of took a reading but didnt think about it when it was apart. So did the chip you install have the 4 extra pins? Did you hang them off to the left? I see a sop 40 unibios on ali now but its labeled for the mv1b, as far as I know this is the only solder in method besides soldering leads for a remote dip40 socket which I thought about doing. Has the unibios been reliable? I have a couple different clone versions but never felt confident enough in them to install one. I kind of have mixed feelings....the soldered bios should never give me a problem but if a new unibios version came out I would be screwed lol
@LameGaming same 4 extra leg chip and the pins did hang off the top. Looking at the listing again from when I bought it the picture does show those two top left pins soldered together but no mention of landing them to the cap. I pre soldered the pads and just pushed down on each pin one by one to install it. The uniobios has worked great so far. No issues. I honestly don't think there will be a new version anytime soon so your good. P.s. I went ahead and ordered another "patch" bios. Different seller though lol
Not 100% sure as I dont have a 1b but I did notice "patch bios" being sold for the mv1b and looks like it doesnt have those extra legs on the pic a.aliexpress.com/_mMcJhbO ( youll have to click on color and scroll over to the last one for the 1b)
Awesome job bro!! I needed that with my old Rush board. Speaking of which, you need to go on ahead and get come on over to the dark side 😂
Which dark side would that be? Cab owning? No room lol
thanks for detailed guide, I am going to attempt the mod in few days
Cool, let me know how it goes
Wanted to try this on my own, did you flash your own chip or did you buy one from somewhere? Was interested in picking one up.
@@lukethexjess2 preflashed on ali_______
Nice, i messed up a chip's legs bad. I came unprepared but i think i can get it next time.
What kind of battery slot is that I'm getting one but its plastic?

Is the process the same for mv1b?
