I'd 3d Print a case in glow in the dark pla or heat sensitive color change. I just downloaded the file to print, next gonna get the OMVS JAMMA kit, it's only $120 DAYYYUUM. Cheaper than I thought
Good video. You said that before you put the console together you tested the mv1c board with your minigun supergun. I have that setup. Though all I get for video is scrambled black & white picture. Is your minigun's video out a mini DIN 8-pin? What do you have it converting to? composite, s-video, component? Thanks
Hi amazing work and video, I been desparatly trying to found the board for my MVS, would you haven to know where to buy one? I litteraly tried everything I could to found one. Regards
I think this is the only place that is currently selling the boards: retrogamerstuff.com/products/omvs-components-kit Cases are available from LaserBear: www.laserbear.net/products/omvs-shell
@@dubesinhower I’m still disappointed that a portable desoldering gun doesn’t stand up to the rigors that something portable and corded would be expected to encounter/withstand. I mean, it really should be able to take a few drops with little more than damaged tips!
Man sorry about your desoldering gun 😕 I recently purchased the same one but I haven't used it yet. Is there a certain tip you'd recommend for typical caps and things such as the heatsink you removed?
I was thinking about buying a consolized MVS from Ebay. Are there any risks involved, such as wear on MB and/or leaking batteries and caps along with trace rotting? I mean, these things are 30 years old after all. Is this a good investment, prices are around 290 usd with shipping and all, Id just like to avoid "ram failure" error messages and what not.
You sodered the audio connection the wrong way. when you look at the board and the jamma connector is at the bottom the black audio wire should be on the right and the red on the left. you should test you sound, you probably have left and right switched.
Hi there, I also have a brand new mv1c and I think I had an issue with it which I don’t know where could it come from or there’s no issue, the thing is that when audio is playing there’s no bass, at all, tried different scart cables and still sounds the same, my result is the same, would love to know if I can share my video to any of you and maybe hear from you guys. Thanks in advance
I hate how thee oringinal cover isn't reused, people are gonna regret butchering these in 30 years time as everything is in pieces and probably lost somewhere. At this point if anyone want a daily driver they should just get a mister to be honest, absolutely zero reason to do mods like these other than to have some personal fun in the process... which probably last for a few hours.
I disagree. I have a MiSTer and am also very enthusiastic about it. I'm particularly taken with the Minimig Core. But the fact is that there is nothing better than being able to play your original modules. Besides, you can undo everything shown here if you want to.
Super clean install. The results are great!
Nice work! Looks really good.
Thanks for watching!
Great video as always! Missed only the power on test!
Yes, it’s a long story lol. I hope to make a follow up video about the NeoBiosMasta
Niceeee. I love the video. Very interesting. I want make this thing!
Awesome tutorial 👌
You got a new sub
Thanks for subscribing, glad you enjoyed the video!
You need to desolder 2 legs of the original bios to disable it before trying to use the bios masta.
Yep found that out after

I use a Retro Access NESRGB SCART cable with my Minigun
Hi. Good video, just a question, did you deactivate the original bios before installing the Neo bios masta?
I had to and I didn’t, going to follow up

Wasn't there a second video?
R.i.p to that desoldering iron ..I felt bad seeing bad seeing that because I was thinking of getting on this week ...need more info on what happen 😬
It fell off of my standing desk. Little disappointing that it broke but thankfully replacement shells are available for $20!

Yea I agree, seems like an obvious flaw.

The tip that’s included works well with cap legs, but you may want a larger tip for the heat sink

Where can I find the swith that turns on/off the power? I shorted my by accident and I need to replace it.
Digikey, they sold it

Don’t you have to disable the onboard ROM to install the Neo BIOS Mastah?
Yes, I thought the newer NBM’s didn’t need that, but they just don’t need the wires soldered to them. I’m going to try it out soon
@@dubesinhower Cool. Glad it’s not something more troublesome. :) Good luck!
Am a little confuse will you be able to use the supergun In the top slot after this mod ?
This mod replaces the super gun altogether
@@dubesinhower 🤦🏽♂️ I finally understand..so now u can interface with the mv1C differently 😅
Yep! In a way, the open MVS is a supergun designed specifically for the MV1C

Where is good place to buy an omvs kit?
Kits were available from taitoc.org/, but unfortunately pre-orders are on hold.
@@dubesinhower it’s too bad.
You know that you MUST remove some components on BACK UP AREA, right?
Sucks they stopped preorders
Yea :/ the case is a real pain in the ass to print
@@dubesinhower yeah I’d imagine it is.
Is anyone still selling this kit?
I sell kits
@@Sopaco23 Thanks. I have one now and have it installed. Works great.

Orthros is badass... not this one :)
Interesting, never heard of it. Neat that it uses the mv1b and not the c
@@dubesinhower Yes MV1B with NEOMASTA for unibios and mod for stereo... eveything is ok :)
