I’m just happy that horror movies from the 1970s were well represented in the top 25. Carrie, The Omen, Suspiria, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Jaws, Halloween, Alien and The Exorcist. The 1970s was the best decade of horror ever. A lot of underrated horror movies in that decade as well. Like Magic from 1978 starring Anthony Hopkins and 1977’s Martin by George Romero.

Agreed. Hereditary should have been in the top 10. It's actually pretty sad that no modern horror film will ever crack the top 10 of any list no matter how good it is because the classics will never lose their position... and rightfully so, but at the same time I'd take Hereditary over a film like Jaws any day of the week. The dread and sheer helplessness that Hereditary makes you feel is crazy. The atmosphere of that film is amazing.

"Amityville Horror" has been on most lists that I encounter, for as long as I can remember. "When A Stranger Calls", with Carol Kane, is one that I believe should be on all lists, just because of the impact its climax had on society. I very much agree with the movies selected, but the order is way inaccurate!!!! Im thankful they included alot of amazing influential older horror, but there are films they didnt include for some reasons we will never know why. Its extremely hard to come up with a list of 100 let alone rank them in a list. Rankings are always dependent on what criteria of judging you are using & what ppl are deciding. Just in the past 4 yrs we have had at least 20 amazing films so putting a list of top 100 is a huge task. Alot of great independent films got left out. But its still a pretty good list, just need to change up the order very badly.

That top 10 is highly debatable. Personally my top 10:
    10. The Descent
    9. The Hills Have Eyes Remake (Yes I know it's not OG)
    8. Terrifier 2
    7. Halloween (original one)
    6. The Conjuring
    5. Invasion Of The Body Snatches (Don Sutherland version)
    4. Alien (Aliens as well but I feel that's more action than horror)
    3. The Thing (80's remake)
    2. The Exorcist
    1. The Shining
