- In this video I repair the tensioning mechanism on a scroll saw which I had borrowed from a friend.
In the video I show parting off using a homemade spring parting tool, and I mention that I have this video on building this parting tool.

Clever solution to a tricky problem, well done. 👍
Thanks you.
Great minds think alike 😊. I had the same scrollsaw and encountered the same issue about 10y ago. Also used 6mm normal thread and swap bottom to top. My new bottom piece didn't look as good and for my handle I just welded a piece of flat bar to the top 😂 very crude... Im not that good in steel work, just wanted to get the tool working. Well worked very well till I sold it when immigrated 5y on. Love your videos, I'm a woodturner but this is a channel I really like and learn from
Thank you for you kind comments. It doesn't matter what it looks like as long as the repair fixes the issue and you can use the tool again.
Nice innovative repair and some magic luck never fails to entertain us. Enjoyed very much, cheers! (Better like new!)
Thanks for your comments.
nice job!
Thank you.
Did you put something at the bottom to stop the threaded triangle unwinding to far and falling off?
No I did not do that. Ill need to tell Dick not to unwind it too much.
Резьбовые шпильки такой длины обычно довольно слабые, там и металл плохой и резьба изготовлена методом накатки. Я вместо испорченной резьбы приваривал болт из автомагазина с подходящей резьбой. Там обычно довольно крепкая сталь.
Thanks for the advice.
