This was the one of your absolute best videos of all time Packy!!!!!! That power buffed Envy hit nasty hard!! Would love to see more of these ball shine experiments.
Back in the day, my proshop guy used Armor all with teflon on our spare balls. They were so smooth, you could spin them in a ball cup haha. Even spare balls use to hook a bit on the old wood lanes we bowled one.
Hey Packy and Matt! I just thought of a bowling challenge. It's like "horse" but you can call it "house". Packy and the challenger (Brent) take turns leaving various single pin leaves, like a 10 pin, and the next person has to try and leave the same pin.
Back in the short oil era, the inly way to keep it from hooking at the arrows was a Blue Dot SLATHERED in Turtle wax & 10 minutes in the Lustre King. Fun video! 🎳
Hey, if it’s worth doing, it’s worth overdoing! I’d like to see them shine the bejeebers out of both a Black Pearl and Purple Urethane and test the difference between the two of them 😬
Helpful hint Get the ball holder with the rollers if you want to buffer polish. This way you dont have to turn the ball it should turn as yhe buffer spins
Great tip! Here's another suggestion. Will start with a 1000 grit rubdown and then a 2000 grit pad for the same amount of surfacing time. When ready to polish the ball, wet wipe it down to remove the dust and then with the Maguires. Let it dry to a dull finish. THEN start the power polisher on it and buff to a mirror shine. I'm going to try this on my old 16 lb. Fury bowling ball that I gave up on due to excessive hooking. Should be good or at least a lot better. Might even resurrect the old girl for the conditions on which I usually bowl.
Funny timing, I picked up a used Rhino this weekend and it was kinda grungy so I cleaned it with a Simple Green/alcohol/water mixture poured onto a magic eraser. Then I took my adjustable speed orbital buffer, set it mid speed, and used some Chemical Guys VSS polish (contains no oils, wax, silicone). The ball looks and feels pretty decent!
Used to do this on a ball spinner back in the 90s when everything was short oil. Try a 3M auto paint polishing product called Finesse It. Mirror finish on bowling balls.
Now this is something I’ve learn about (1:52) At least the ball was resurfaced to remove oil, dirt, and a bit trouble reaction of the ball using a meguiars ultimate compound gotta try this Way the Go Packy
"As the saying goes, 'more messengers... more money'. " - LMAO "When you think you've had enough Maguire's, just put more on. Gotta give it that spit-shine." - ❤😂🤣😂🤣
Shiniest ball of allll time is my old white dot. Sanded it to the best paper of the day, then polished 8 directions on a spinner with finesse. Ended with an oil rag
When using the spinner the direction of cut spin, rotate 90, spin rotate… Make the Final Cut with or against the track can change reaction too - if you’re into that level of detail. Back I. The day before Abralon we went to wood working and metal shops for paper Used car polish and wax. Wax really slicked it up. Turtle wax for the spare ball baby
So.. I hear you have two envy tours.. nobody needs TWO envy tours.. I have a mailing address and I'm subscribed? Just food for thought. Also, even though this was a light-hearted video, I still feel like I learned some things about polishing a ball that I didn't know before. It's something I'll have to do more research into. Thanks for all the fun videos.
i would be interested in seeing the difference between the car polish and the bowling polish with them applied the same way to see if the differences you were seeing between them was more the polish or the application
Hey Packy, Meguiars Midwest Rep here! Im very much into the bowling scene. Loved the video, I have a Meguiars product I could send you that would probably make a good video 😂
I have my own car detailing business and literally just yesterday used car polish compound on my bowling ball. I made it super shiny like you did and then this video popped up on my suggested 😂 lol I guess great minds do think alike!
1st I guess CONGRATS are in order for your engagement. Next how about trying to use the car polish on the bowling shops polishing machine and see if it comes out the same or different and then see what the ball reaction is on the lanes for the 2. The 2 being polished on the bowling shop machine using actual reactive bowling ball polish and using that same car polish you used on the buffer at home. I would think that the car polish should come out the same on the car buffer and the bowling ball buffing machine, only buffing the ball on the ball polisher I think would be easier and less messy than using your car buffer at home yes, no, maybe, sometimes, always, never? You and your family have a good, safe and blessed rest of yer day and week. Question: What do you think that car polish would do to say a TNT Infused, !Q Ruby Tour or other balls that are similar to those that come out of the box shiny? Would adding even more shine give them more shape down the lane and into the pocket or ruin their shape going down the lane to the pocket? That may be something for say your next videos you put out.
I destroyed a hammer 4D back in the day with a ball spinner, turtle wax, and a big poofy bath towel. Took about 15 minutes and it was a discoball. Most beautiful spareball I had until I resurfaced it!
I am an old, slow, low rev player (77 is old) - I have been using car polish with a ball spinner for years to get further down lane. I have tried actual bowling ball polish but like the car polish result better. Its hard to get a strong down and in motion when you get old and slow.
The other night I was throwing my VERY shiny Zen Pearl on a Mark Roth pattern. MAN! .. talk about carry! .. Absolutely straight until it hit friction and it was storing so much energy, it was crazy. And yeah, talk about messengers .. holy cow! .. when that ball hit friction, it just took off like a nitro funny car.
@@TheHouseBowling - I don't normally get to play on sport patterns so bowling on a fresh Roth pattern for 4hrs (by myself) was a real treat. I had 9 of my balls at the center that night and I tested out all of them. I found it interesting that I had the best success with my Radical Katana Assault ball. Bowled 3 or 4 200+ games with it, which is very good for me (I am about a 182 average in USBC league), especially on a sport pattern. I expected one of my duller balls to be better. The dull balls worked "ok", but the Katana worked the best once I found the right marks and matching up the throw. As long as I hit my marks, boom! .. strike every time. Was a LOT of fun and a great learning experience !!
I took my Envy Tour and had to polish it to get it down the lane. I have since upped my speed and needed it to read better so surfaced it with 1500. I think it's in a good spot for me but thought about going to 1000.
I would be curious to see if there is any performance difference with the car compound/polish vs the bowling ball compound/polish using the same process on the same spinner.
VISE Bowling Ball Slip Agent will make balls mirror finished in a ball spinner. I step sand paper up like 500, 1000, 2000, 5000 then use a 5500 polish then the slip agent. Mirror finish on my spare ball.
Creating the difference has a polish that by hand is 6000 I want to say and by spinner is 6500 grit. And this reminds me of what my dad said that he saw a track code red critical mass and they used 3mp polish and it was beautiful. Track needs the critical mass series the normal and the red with low rev high diff.
You need some 3m finesse it polish that they used in the short oil days where the old school urethane balls had mirror shine and 3m finesse it polish and they would go long and hocky stick like a reactive before reactive balls came out.
Thats actually a compound not a straight polish. That particular compound has abrasives in it. The abrasives will cut the ball and alter the 2000 surface.
Congrats on the engagement Packy!!!
@@Mayosloppyshamala proposal? 👍❤️
Love the DIY, Let's try content. These experiments and challenges look fun as hell!
Congrats on the engagement

The best bowling channel on TH-cam! Keep up the great work Packy!!!

I've actually done this and loved the way my ball read the lanes
I love how shiny the bowling balls are
Fun video Packy. Meguiar's is a top tier car polish. Cool shirt as well. Congratulations on your engagement.
I polish mine with a 3”pad on mini buffer works great. That full size is a little excessive 😂 great shine though
The double cross is so slept on. Glad to see a resurrection
Back in the short oil era, the inly way to keep it from hooking at the arrows was a Blue Dot SLATHERED in Turtle wax & 10 minutes in the Lustre King. Fun video! 🎳
Lmao! Pad was WAY TOO HUGE. 🤣🤣🤣 a little detail spray, 3” pad, and a few pea sized amounts of polish woulda done the trick.
I’m no professional with the power tools as you can tell 😂
Hey, if it’s worth doing, it’s worth overdoing! I’d like to see them shine the bejeebers out of both a Black Pearl and Purple Urethane and test the difference between the two of them 😬
Go Big or Go Home! None of this "just a tad will do" 😅

I don’t know, seemed like just enough over to be entertaining.

Used exact same stuff on my idol pearl. Works good in my oppinion .
Thanks for the experiment Edward Norton!

Definitely WON'T be asking you to detail my truck😮😮 What a mess.
I've used Nu Finish car polish for 30 tears and it rocks!
I don't always bowl with shiny equipment, but when ya do reach for micguires car wash. Packy you got me going. 😂😂
Yo!! Imagine using the car polish and power buffer on the ball spinner??? 👀 👀 👀
Congrats on the engagement big pack
Used to do this on a ball spinner back in the 90s when everything was short oil. Try a 3M auto paint polishing product called Finesse It. Mirror finish on bowling balls.
Used to use Finesse It on boats. Hit my Combat Zone Tracer with it years ago and that ball was goated
@@joshmoore5686 I shined up an AMF Sumo with it. Hated that ball out of the box but shined up it was massive!
Just buy a versatile bowling ball meant for those lanes
That was an absolutely cool video.. Love the humor and all the effort behind the video.... Great job

Way the Go Packy
6:25 packy gonna lose his brunswick sponsorship
Use the power buffer on the ball while its spinning on the ball spinner
Simo is the type of guy to probably try this with a Phase II and see some insane results. New bowling meta confirmed. 😆
Finally ! You’re welcome packy for the car polish idea ! Messengers incoming !!!!
Polished up a Eternity Pi to 4000 & then polish. Definitely works great with the right conditions/pattern. Pretty snappy off the spot as expected.

Should use the power buffer with the bowling spinner with each of the polishes.
Storm polish on a non storm ball wow. Make the right decision and get CTD polish...shine it up to P5500D

Repping the Turbo Tubs!
You already know!!
What about car polish in a spinner instead of the power buffer? Congrats Pack!
Totally random here but Packy you should rock a Mohawk for the coming PBA season. Make it the beginning of your PBA takeover!
We needed a surface scan of that shiny ball
i would be interested in seeing the difference between the car polish and the bowling polish with them applied the same way to see if the differences you were seeing between them was more the polish or the application
Build a spinner based around that car polisher, leave the speed adjustment easy to use, kind of like a homemade billiards ball cleaner.
This video Packy........M O N E Y!!!
Should have rocked some Turtle Wax. Korean pro shops use that method.
Try this: polish one side, sand the other, half and half it.
"we're gonna do it the right way"
>uses reacta gloss
🤣
Although, with a metal bowl and some wood, you could turn it into a DIY home ball spinner!

that mcguire polish is almost certainly not usbc approved. probably worth mentioning.
I'd be curious what a ceramic coated ball would do...
Ooo so shiny!
You should do a challenge where you put oil on the ball instead of the lane

There are different grits of polish so you could get it even shinier. Also, spin the ball on the spinner while hitting it with the hand polisher.
I destroyed a hammer 4D back in the day with a ball spinner, turtle wax, and a big poofy bath towel. Took about 15 minutes and it was a discoball. Most beautiful spareball I had until I resurfaced it!

PACKYY THE GOAT
Number 1 reason for shiny balls: Shelf Appeal
Next time you should try a 1K grit sandpaper to shine it.
Next up, grit up your ball track and shine up the rest....throw without missing the track lol.
Cool video talk tech bowling ball packy

Shiny balls hit the pocket hard when you give them the pocket, its a matter of using them at the right time!!

I was disappointed! No ball on the spinner while using the buffer!!!!!!! While using the Meguiars polish!!!! Ultimate shine!
Vicious messengers😁
you could even sand it with newspaper which is about 10000 grit and then polish it with turtle wax. pure marble

I made a big mistake trying to use something close to that to knock the blug down on my bowling ball and had a huge indent on my ball. 😂😂
The shirt,,, PH 😂
Thats one shiny ball
Have you guys tried a half n' half yet?
hahaha I do love a little bit of cream in my tea!

Hey this is just so cool no worse than someone else on you tube video selling turtle wax bowling bowling ball polish 😂😂😂
Ooh shiny
I think I might use a urethane or a old reactive and use car polish or use my creating the difference polish
You need some 3m finesse it polish that they used in the short oil days where the old school urethane balls had mirror shine and 3m finesse it polish and they would go long and hocky stick like a reactive before reactive balls came out.
run the ball on a spinner and hit it with the polisher at the same time, but use actual ball polish too
Should have put it on a ball spinner and used the polisher on it!
I love shiny balls, so much easier to clean, where I bowl it's filthy in the back and ball returns.
Thats actually a compound not a straight polish. That particular compound has abrasives in it. The abrasives will cut the ball and alter the 2000 surface.
Surprised you didn't polish on ball spinner with car polish, instead of trying to even the polish with the buffer. Still interesting.
Something interesting about using a handful of solid color bowling balls so we can't see the rotation used. 🤷
Do a video creating the dullest bowling ball of all time
We need to!!
CTD has polish for bowling balls and they worked with Turtle Wax the car wax company to get it made
Or just use Maguiars in the pro shop😂😂😂
Packy using Storm Reacta Gloss?
