You should wrangle Bill Doran's help for setting up your new workshop when you move. He's great at the whole storage thing from the look of his workshop (Not quite on the level of Adam Savage, but he's... well... Adam Savage lol).
My cosplay station is a corner in the garage that is ever growing . Mostly just a workbench , and some fold out Tables. Lots and lots of totes for storage .

The funny thing is, IKEA used to be like that in Germany. Back in the day it was all complicated structures that didn't fit and missing parts in every set. It was almost a running gag. These days the stuff almost builds itself and I haven't seen a missing part in years xD

We moved into a house last fall so I finally have a craft room. It's a tiny 8 by 8 box but it works so much better than working in my bedroom used to. I got a ton of cube shelves for storage and a discount kitchen counter top that fits perfectly against the one wall and just looks so lovely.
I'm about to graduate and I am so excited to dive into cosplay this summer! Currently I work mainly on the floor but I hope to get a large desk for my room soon to work on 😆So excited to get your new book as well!
My workspace right now is about half to a quarter of my glass dining room table, the hard part is not the size but my dad and brother around so I usually pull impromptu all-nighters(kinda sorta all the time) just to have peace and quiet:)
I just moved from the northwest to AZ and my new work room is amazing! It has my computer and my husbands, I'm setting up my workbench and we have real storage now! Tile wood floors so everything so much cleaner.

I currently work in the living room. We have a large dinning room table that doesn't get used so that's my work space. My crafts are kind of overflowing the area, though, even with several plastic towers of drawers. I need to go through and organize sometime soon. Then my costumes (finished) are in my closet and a spare bedroom closet, as well as overflow of fabric boxes and other costume pieces. I dream of a large room all dedicated to crafting!
I work in my bed room on a folding table & on the floor in my boyfriends basement. He likes to tinker too so we will sometimes just sit together & make stuff. His mom hates it but he keeps the space clean so she cant really say much.

I dream of a craft room someday! For now i just had to downsized, because I moved from an entire apartment alone, to a shared apartment with only a small bedroom for myself. I have all of my creative stuff in the basement, stored practically so it's easy to take upstairs when needed. I haven't used it jet, since I just got here recently, but the floor in my bedroom and the shared dining table are gonna be my future workplace. Depending on the project, how risky it is for damage is gonna decide if it's my bedroom or dining room lol. Probably sewing are gonna be on the dining tabel, and cutting and paint in my bedroom...

I’ve got a big flat desk in my room that I use for pretty much everything. Still a bit cramped though, since it is my bedroom 😅

Most of my cosplay work is done at the dining table on a sheet of brown paper with an old bed sheet on the floor. Some times I push the boat out and jury rig a big table in the lounge with a half sheet of 12mm MDF on an Ikea LACK. This is great for things like fabric patterns or similar which isn't messy but needs a lot of space. I also recently cleaned up the shed so I have somewhere to do some of the more messy work now. Hoping to start kitting it out with some more big tools like a belt sander, band saw and drill press soon.
My cosplay workspace is my bedroom,, it's already really small so with my furniture I only have about 5 by 3 ft of space to actually work with rip
For the small bit of cosplay i do, I work in my bedroom! I'm hoping to move to my sister's old room and I'll have a fresh start for the room placing and such. This tour helped me figure out how to organize the stuff I hope to have :)

I'm still working in my bedroom. I'm hoping to have my own cosplay room in the next year or so. But I have a 3, three-tier organizers and one huge one and I keep my sewing supplies and costumes on a stand up closest. Once I get rid of my of the old sewing machine (aka get my dad to take it back) ill have another space for a box to hold all the wigs I don't use regularly/for current cosplays.

I work in my tiny bedroom. Which also stores most of my Cosplays and my tools . I bought a giant closet like yours to store my cosplay in. Also from Ikea and was such a pain to build

Had to get that out of my system. Your Nee Nurse (I'm not sure how to spell her name) reminds me of my Tomas I had growing up. he also had to have his place at my desk and would jump on top of this old wardrobe my mom got from my grand parents.
I'm sure we all would love to have Adam Savages work space. As he had a work shop, Ikea furnished museum and storage space all in one.
I'm currently using the dinning room of our apartment. I have a few soft boxes for storage of all my craft tools/supplies/fabrics/patterns. Also we really don't use it for a dinning room so I have the space.
i mainly work in my back patio! me and my dad share a space since we're both big hobbyists...
though both of our hobbies are pretty different we use the same tools.

About the Ikea closet, it kinda looks like one of the side panel is flipped upside down, because the drawers all looked slanted...?! (or maybe one side of the drawer slide could be moved a hole spacing up?)

oh man, this is almost like how my setup would be if i had some organizational skills LMAO. i have the same habits for storing foam and things like that - ie., stuffed behind things because there isn't enough room - but almost everything kind of.. ends up in my closet? i don't use it for anything but storage, and kind of as a result of that and it being out of the way, the entire bottom half is just wall to wall boxes of mostly cosplay stuff, organized by project and by useage (so a box of adhesives, a box of makeup, a box dedicated to a finished costume, several boxes of tools, etc etc), and what doesn't fit in boxes get smushed BETWEEN the boxes (like bags of batting and foam sheets).
when it comes to working on things, i have a foldaway table i bring out when i really get started on a costume that becomes my 'everything' table. i have a bunch of blueprints drawn up for a desk i want to get made some day, probably when i too have a better house to work out of, and i'm really super proud of the design. for now, though, i'm... going to dig through ikea to find that cabinet because holy hell it'd make my life so much easier. thank you so much for showing us everything! it's really nice to know that our weird workspaces don't make us less of a cosplayer or 'worse,' somehow, when pros are in the same boat. that really means a lot to me.

I have to admit i've been shopping for a desk at Ikea not long ago. So i recognized a few pieces lol. You got yourself an industrial-sized box of glue sticks, no wonder you're not going that fast through it!

I do all my cosplay in my bedroom but don't want to put myself in danger or my pup!
Thanks for asking! I forgot to mention this. Now that I have a dedicated space I don't let my kitties in the room when I use anything with fumes. I put the air filter on my desk where I'm working, put on the fan, and wear a respirator too!

lol! I had to jump cut because I have allergies and had to do a BIG NASTY COUGH. I have plans for that helmet but I'm not sure when a video will come out for it!
