Of all the inventions that have elevated the strength of Armies and Navies around the world, perhaps the MOST revolutionary of them all is the birth of Naval Aviation. Shortly after the first airplanes flew, the United States Navy embarked on a mission not only focused on obtaining aircraft, but with the goal to land these planes aboard ships!
As history has progressed, the importance of Naval Aviation has grown. In fact, naval aviation has completely changed the way war is fought in the open oceans. No longer do we see ships firing cannonballs at each other. Now, naval warfare is dominated in the skies- often far away from the fleet of ships.
Join us, as we look at the early days of Naval Aviation, how it came to be, and stick around to see how it has progressed over time into modern day.
