What would be a good nerf? Some possibilities, remove the bonus damage to light, add the light attribute, and / or longer targeting period for steady targeting
@@timgarnett1427 something like… Basic attack speed reduction to make it more in line with other spellcasters. Emp strength reduction vs Shields. Something like a snipe range nerf. All small adjustments.
Next patch: ghosts now have stim increasing their auto attack damage from 10 (+10 vs light) to 20 (+ 20 vs light), increasing Their movement speed from 3,94 to 6,19
Best zergs in the world stay with early to mid game units into late game because 1 unit hard counters all late game units, seems balanced
They counter not only all lategame units, they counter every unit Zerg has.

And it'd be balanced so easily. Just give the emp to the raven and be done with it. Ghost is still strong that way and the raven gets promoted out of a niche
They don't counter all Zerg lategame units, you silly. They're only good against units that have:
-The bio tag
-The light tag
-Have shields
-Have energy
Other than those, they're just ok!

I don't understand why zergs make zerglings and roaches in the late game when you could just spend all your money on brood lords or ultralisks and lose the game even quicker. Way more time efficient

The problem with some sc2 machups rn is just like Lowko said in game 2, if your opponent has to make a mistake for u to get the win, so the game isn't balanced at all. Just like the disruptor, u only get value if your opponent messes up.
It would be one thing if Terran had ghosts but didn't also have the resilient MMM to path directly into them. Just doesn't seem like any tension in the transition, like the other races have
That and even if Ghosts weren't OP, they clearly discourage a lot of build variety in both the Terran whose optimal path is Ghost, and for the opponent who has their choice of units severely affected by the mere existience of Ghosts.
To me, that alone suggests they're very unhealthy for the game.
@@bricelory9534 I think that's it: they work great with what Terran already has, to the point the switch is trivial, while invalidating all other late game units.

A friend told me that I should read the first view pages of book 1 after finishing the trilogy, because apparently the foreshadowing is amazing.
im excited to read the stormlight archives after MB. im only on book 2 of mistborn, halfway done. but idk if i feel like finishing it. is it good? yeah. is it a work of art? nope. it feels somewhat young adult, kinda predictable. if i read it when i was 16 i probably wouldve thought it was the best book ever written lol. does it get better? i wanna finish before reading SA
@@kurt7937 If you finish book 2 and find it predictable, then you'd be one in a million. The final ~100 pages of book 2 is filled with so many twists, surprises, and tropes being subverted, it's wild and yet amazing.
But if you finish book 2 and are not a fan, then prob not worth continuing.

I think they need to buff ghosts and give protoss one more nerf.

@@hivetech4903 I think we just don't have any extremely good Protoss players. There's nobody that can compete with the top zergs or terrans.
MaxPax is probably the closest, but he's likely a year or two away from truly being the greatest of all time. That, and no offline events...
It's honestly kinda painful watching Raynor try everything he can, and just lose.
It just feels extremely lopsided. And even though I love Serral games, it's because Serral is good enough to still consistently win after multiple faction killing nerfs. That's completely different than how this series felt.
Serral can't even win any more lol. Clem killed him so easy. Blizzard will nerf zerg more though just to punish Serral more, LOL.
@@zaphrian the EWC was a massive disappointment, but at least we can say it was probably because it's really cold in Finland, and it was probably at least 10-15C warmer.
Watching the main stream, they even mention it's unsafe to go outside for more than 3 minutes. Finland doesn't get that warm, ever.

but you can't deny if the races were balanced, reynor would probably win most of the time in these games
well, even if the race that has the best offense, and infinite harassment tools (and the best defense) does no damage, they should also win versus the race whos sole goal is to minimize losses and maximize drones as a means of victory. IMO.

Ghosts might need a nerf, but it also looks like the baneling nerf stings alot aswell, maybe buff it to the middle of what it was and is now? They seem weak without fungal

well serral went to military and got washed so he could save zerg balance. now they can stop nerfing zerg because of serral. high iq serral.
I think we can start experimenting with making the ghost a light unit.

Making it not able to snipe massive troops (Ultras and BL).
There are already other counters to those units. It would be nice if a terran had to choose what to make as well, and not just have one unit to kill them all.
maybe reduce ghost damage on armored like ultralisk? or have snipes on longer cd ? feels frustrating to see reynor unleashing everything just to get ghosted :D .. already know who win from the title. you should probably cast another one along with reynor himself :D
The elephant in the room as far as balance is the Ghost. EMP is powerful against any Protoss composition because it removes shields and ghosts single-handedly counter every zerg late-game army too. I think the easiest solution would be to move EMP from the ghost to the Raven, but what do I know?

Ye come on just say it, Zerg lategame is bad, Terran lategame is too easy and the balancing is off point. We all know it. Part of it is that you can play a lategame terran with 5 workers apparently.

Zerg needs a late game upgrade for the roach/ravager line
Upgrade for ultra. Like make it take 2-3 snipes to kill one. Then they'd have a frontline to engage into ghost armies. Like make current upgraded ultra's the baseline ultra stat and with upgrades, it tanks 2-3 snipes before going down.
Iron roaches : remove the bio tag and gives them +1 armor.
@@josephbirrenkott7993 snipe is a spell, and spells ignore armor. that would just make it obscenely strong versus 3/3 marines. theyd do 1 damage.
@@kurt7937 If it's a spell, it can be balanced as a spell - without some change that affects marine dmg output. Changing viper abduct range doesn't affect zergling dps; changing snipe doesn't...

Broodlings do a heck a lot of damage when then first land. look at a PF getting hit by 5 broods and it will be gone before you can say "broodlords"

I knew that hellbats are absolutely phenomenal against zerg but nobody but oli seems to use them.
I thought about roach-corruptor as a lategame composition vs terran, but then I remembered about tanks. Maybe burrowed roaches? They have high HP, regenerate fast and quite cheap compared to ling-bane.

Now, i dont play SC2, but i love watching Lowko casting and commentating them.... To me it sounds completely bonkers that terran has one unit that basically counters all late game. What is their counter and is it a viable play or are their hard counter unit so easy to kill by other terran units that they arent played...

How about snipe being a pointed skillshot? As in while it is a targeted spell, projectile can be blocked by other units?
Whats the DPS difference between a banshee and a brood lord? With fire rate and the broodling taken into account?
From which zerg upgrade do Brood Lords benefit when it comes to the attack? Is it the melee or flyer attack upgrade?
The impact benefits from flyer attack, but the broodlings themselves use melee attack
as someone that only watches SC2 and doenst play himself anymore: is there any zerg lategame unit that is truly stong at this point? lurker is okay until enough ghosts are out (which usually are anyway) and vipers are a spellcaster only, not like an actual fighting unit. vipers would be a ghost-like unit if it had proper range damage both air to air and air to ground.

Zerg got nerfed soo hard over the years, they get endgame around minute ~10 & nearly always loose to "never changed" ghosts & the constantly evolving terran army -.- how is that fair?

Ghosts are way to op against pretty much any late game zerg unit. Ultra, lurker, broodlord, casters, You name it. All I can think of is going with fungal + bane and that could get busted up quickly by mech. 🤷 I dunno

Since when broodlords got no dps? They got nurfed or something? They move slow and there is a reason for that. You leave your ground forces for a couple of sec with them and you're done. The main problem with broods is that people push them in front of an army of invisible man, who would die almost instantly if not for that snipes of theirs.

Everywhere I look, the casting of Starcraft II has become Terran TV. I stopped playing during brood wars because the game was so unbalanced. Now, a lot later, I have checked maybe 50 recent games and it seems to be really unbalanced still and it has almost been 25 years since I stopped playing.
Broodwar, however, is heralded as the most balanced RTS game with asymmetrical balance..

ghosts are just men with guns who can cast the spell non magic missile, thats really it
they can 1 shot every unit in the game, they can turn invisible, they can erase all energy from every enemy spellcaster, they can remove shields from Archons, they can get picked up in medivacs/healed by medivacs, they can A-move with the marines.
almost forgot, they can launch nuclear missiles too

you want ghosts to be repaired instead? cause first of all, make that make sense, second of all, it doesnt really make that much of a difference. And i cant take anyone seriously when they consider tactical nukes a plus, "oh no, tactical nukes exist" said no one(except solar) in a million years, you are either low league, or the noggin in that little headspace o' yours, just isnt spinning those gears.

Why is Reynor so horrible at getting upgrades? Game 2, going over 30 mins when he had a massive bank, and mediocre upgrades at best. Sloppy Zerg play, as usual.
Its just not fun to watch this matchup anymore, hope we get a balance patch soon.
Reynor was a bit sloppy in g1. Both in defence and in the offensive play.

The one thing I can fault zerg for not considering is defensive muta's. Specifically to hunt/deny medivac drops. Not an every game strat, but you make a few and you can get terran to overract defensively plus just defend terran midgame more easily.
Sincerely, the guy who suggested nydus for mobility/flanking rather than just to deep dive enemy base... and then zerg started doing it within a month or two.
*note: gotta give some credit to lowko for this one - as he always suggests a phoenix or two from protoss in similar situations

Corruptors are better at defending, Muta are unruly and easily kited, so once you have them you have to stay on top of them.
@@enochianwolf You completely miss the point and illustrate your limited iq with this reply. The point isn't "X saw my comment and started using it in pro" although that's actually happened via non-ranked match in another game.
The point is to illustrate that the commenter (me) has had a good idea (or more) in the past that wasn't being utilized and independently came up with it. And that the pro's then started using it. Meaning said new proposal should likewise prove valuable.
Or put in simpler terms... hey, you liked the last car you bought from us so, you wanna buy your next car from us?
@@SD-jf7nb Yes, but you build mutas earlier in most cases. And... mutas are generally used for agro. So you build enough they THINK you're going for worker harass, but instead are medivac hunting unless you see an egregious opening in their base defense.
This makes zerg midgame defense more cost efficient which boosts variety of options.

Terran has to be nerved
No need to nerf the Ghost.
- Nerf medivac healing by 20% (if that's too harsh increase the unit HP by the same amount so that they can't just heal through 3 stacked fungals) this would keep the unit strength with the medivac even, but Terran couldn't just face tank everything, they'd have to pick up and heal the units in a safe location
- Make the mules specific to the CC from which they're being called. Then Terran would have to position their CC's better, fly more of them over to a new location, or move the mules, using some of their time. Being able to camp, trading better by design and then land a CC, drop 10 mules, outmine an opponent who's up 3 bases and not have the mules count towards supply, thus being able to defend with a gigantic army just doesn't make sense. It's ok that their units trade better by default, but one would expect that the opponent will have a chance to get more minerals, but thanks to the mules, it's almost impossible.
-make maps with more neutral bases for more opportunities to get ahead when you have map control
Now of course I can be wrong, but let me tell you that I'm certainly unbiased, cause I've never even played the game 😂 but I've been watching for a long time and that's just what it seems like to me.
The problem of balancing any game is always that 99.99% players aren't pros so it is possible that Terran just has a higher skill ceiling and when reached other races just don't stand a chance even if their players reach their ceiling. That's always a problem to balance because any change you make because of 2-3 amazing players will make the rest of the community seethe.
Tldr: nerf mules
