- POLPERRO CORNWALL is a village between Looe and Fowey that everyone should visit on their Cornwall holiday. Regarded as the most beautiful village in Cornwall it's very popular with holidaymakers and day trips and rightly so. Come with me as head through the village to the beach.
Polperro is a captivating fishing village nestled on Cornwall's south coast, renowned for its well-preserved charm and rich history. This delightful village boasts narrow streets, a picturesque harbour, and stunning coastal scenery. Here's why you should consider Polperro for your next Cornwall holiday:
Wander the narrow, winding streets lined with traditional Cornish cottages. The car-free environment allows you to truly immerse yourself in the village's timeless atmosphere. Many of the cottages house craft shops, galleries, and cafes, adding to the village's charm.
The heart of the village revolves around the picturesque Polperro Harbour. Take a leisurely stroll along the harbour front, admire the colorful fishing boats moored in the water, and breathe in the fresh sea air. You might even spot some seabirds diving for fish or playful seals basking on the rocks.
Delve into Polperro's fascinating past at the Polperro Heritage Museum of Fishing and Smuggling. The museum explores the village's fishing industry and its involvement in smuggling activities over the centuries. Interactive exhibits and historical artifacts bring the stories to life.
While Polperro Harbour Beach is small and secluded, it offers a charming spot to relax and soak up the sunshine. The sheltered cove is perfect for paddling or rock pooling, especially for families with young children.
While Polperro itself might be compact, the surrounding area offers a wealth of things to see and do:
Polperro Harbour: As mentioned before, explore this charming harbour and soak up the traditional fishing village atmosphere. Enjoy fresh seafood at the harborside restaurants or watch local fishermen bring in their daily catch. Consider taking a boat trip around the bay for stunning coastal views.
Polperro Model Village & Land of Legend: Experience Polperro in miniature at the Polperro Model Village & Land of Legend. This whimsical attraction features intricate models of Polperro's buildings and Cornish landmarks, alongside a captivating model railway.
South West Coast Path Walk: Lace up your walking shoes and embark on a scenic coastal walk. The South West Coast Path offers breathtaking views of the coastline, with opportunities to spot wildlife and hidden coves. Explore sections in either direction, heading towards Looe or towards Lantic Bay.
Ebenezer Gallery:Browse the works of talented local artists at the Ebenezer Gallery. This charming gallery showcases a variety of paintings, sculptures, and crafts, offering a glimpse into the artistic spirit of Cornwall.
Visit a nearby town: Explore the charming towns of Looe or Fowey, both located a short drive away. Looe boasts a picturesque harbor, while Fowey offers a vibrant town center with independent shops and restaurants.
There's no place more beautiful to visit on your holiday than Polperro Cornwall. It's a lovely little village and a popular travel and tourist destination

I love these videos. We visited different places in Cornwall every year, as a family, but after my dad died in 1976 we stopped. Been down a few times since then, and want to start going back every year now, so these videos give me a reason to start again! Thanks!
Hello , your videos are absolutely brilliant.! Thank you!!!
Thanks so much ❤️❤️
No talking...this is what i like... thanks
Thank you!
More to come - definitely worth subscribing ❤️
Another day, another stunning Cornish fishing village LOL! Thanks so much for sharing! :)
Cornwall has too many of them
We should move them and spread these places round all the other counties 🤣
Just watched Looe again and now Polperro. Really enjoyed. I went in the summer of 1989 with my father and these brought back so many nice memories. Thank you.
Thanks so much!
Wonderful! Makes one forget the rest of the world!

@@blueboy7589 what annoys me about the car park is that you can’t pay by app or card

Great place to visit
Viewing these lovely Cornwall coastal villages is very relaxing. Thanks for your great efforts and sharing Cornwall around the world.
Our pleasure!
I love Polperro. Cute little place with lovely buildings and plenty of history.
Lovely seafront too.
Love it there, went once after beast from the east and I'm not joking it was only me n hubby there, it was his 50th and we were staying in looe 😊
Oh wow! that sounds mad!
I notice you steer clear of the caves haha.
Few years ago when in Cornwall it was said to me....oh dont bother with Polperro, its tiny, nothing there...... so this video was an eye opener. Thanks, another great video.
Thanks so much - and yeh the caves were not in the plans this time ha ha
absolutely beautiful thank you for sharing x
Thank you! 😊
Looks so cosy and charming. Greetings from South Africa.
Such a beautiful village! I’ve never visited Polperro and thought it very similar to Port Isaac with the warren of narrow streets. Loved the colours of the rocks on the beach, was it slate? And what could be seen out to see? Looked like a colourful oil-rig haha
Lovely place isnt it! Very cute village
Going there tomorrow
Have a great time!
What a gorgeous little village, the coloured rocks were amazing, what was that coloured structure at the end if the harbour you never mentioned it?
The rig was for water repairs on a pipe
@@GimbalWalkTV probably why u never mentioned it cheers 👍
@michw3755 am I missing something ? It's mentioned in the video hahaha
I can tell you really like Polperro. It is a beautiful place. I know it’s not a competition but I think Polperro beats Mousehole for beauty, much as I love Mousehole ☺
I can't decide between them!
Loving the Cornwall series and can’t wait to go back in October. You’ve probably already mentioned it but what’s the song at the end?
Yes Cornwall is fantastic but now my husband is nearly 70 he refuses to drive the long distances,do unless we go on train will never see it again apart from your lovely videos!❤
Another wonderful video of a beautiful Cornish town, slowly being strangled by over -tourism, holiday lets and second homers. I bet hardly anyone local lives there. Nobody about 😞🤷. The video does it proud though. 👍👍
Agreed - it’s sad to walk through these places when nobody is there anymore
It's a fantastic and beautiful town (like most of Cornwall), but I'd have a question for you: Even if you'd have the money to buy a house there... What would you do ? It's a very small ghost town for 8 or 9 months of the year. Except for the bar where you got the beer, the other shops were closed !!! And in 30 minutes you showed the whole town.
If you go to the supermarket (probably far way) you can NOT go with your car (full of groceries) to your own home (so you have to walk several blocks with a lot of bags from the parking to your home which, I guess, it's not nice in winter (with rain or even snow). WHEN did you film this video ? It's great because it's a sunny day but... What can you do when the weather is "terrible non-stop" (probably 4 or 5 months) ?
Thanks for the great video.
11:46 I like no sign posted as well.
Nice video. Thank you. Sadly, seems that a few place could do with a bit of TLA and a coat of paint though.
THE HOUSE'S AT THE TOP OF THE HILL IS THERE A ROAD UP THERE, OR DO THEY HAVE TO ACCESS BY STEPS GOING UP,
Not sure!
Car park is cash only - worth repeating (coins only I think - can anyone confirm?). 2024 it is £7 for 3 hours and £12 for 6 I think.
Understand that people feel numbers are down because of this.
However, it is a private car park, so up to the owner what they charge. Don’t know if the council has had any negotiation with them?
A great place.
A great video thank you.
Yes it's definitely cash only
Causes real issues as I never carry cash!
@@davidhughes7637 £12 for motorcycles I think.
Definitely nice, but better than Fowey? No.
The good thing is - we can visit both!
