I think this song astounded everyone. She sings it a lot as it is one of her mother's favourites. I'm so glad that even though she is from small town Canada, she has kept her Moroccan heritage from where she was born. Thanks to her parents for that, since they moved to Canada with a 1 yr old and kept that culture alive at home.
Was a first time for me and wow! Incredible song and performance.
An Algerian song by Cheb Mami an algerian singer featuring this song with sting
@@dodoartemis4344 Algerian / Moroccan song, it’s the same. But the song is from Sting and it’s about her talents. She’s Moroccan 🇲🇦
@@chaima5064 I know she's maroccan and we are proud of her just because she represents Arabs, but there's a big difference between Algerians and Moroccans
@@dodoartemis4344 there's no big difference between us, we share the same genes, only borders and governments separate us
She won first place with this song. I’m so proud of her🥲❤️
What a performance!
As I am an Arab, here is the translation of the Arabic part she sang:
هذي المده طويله (this is a long time)
وين نحوس على غزالي ( where do I search for my love)
So what she sang is Arabic but in Moroccan or Algerian dialect .
Beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing that. Appreciate it !🙏🏽
its not accurate but alright
Moroccan dialect*
@@jisso3073 Babe its an algerian song soo its algerian dielect ! Its cheb mami
I'm Moroccan and this is an Algerian song by chab mami
Faouzia's version of the Sting and Cheb Mami song is about 40 seconds shorter than the original. She has chosen to leave some of the verses out, maybe to make it her "own" or there was a time limit, per song, in this competition? Born in Morocco but moved to Canada with her parents when she was very young, uses the Arabic singing technique of maqam to voice those amazing melodies.
The song uses the word "gazelle (غزال or ghzalti)" in Arabic as a term of endearment for the woman he dreams and yearns for.
she is amazing, incredibly beautiful and talented, a flower in full bloom. so proud 🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦
💯
I wont lie every time i watch this performance i have tears in my eyes
Beautiful performance.
I cried when I heard her voice, she sang desert Rose 🌹 so beautifully ❣️
She’s just out of this world 🌎🔥
100%
At her concert in late 2022, she had techincal problems when they got to this song on the setlist.
She told her keyboardist, she could go ahead anyway. So she sang it to the small audience, without a microphone or in-ear monitors, just the keyboard accompaniment.
It was lovely, but her singing has improved so much in the year and a half since. Really nice performamce here.
Backstage, Adam Lambert wondered where does she breath, its so packed. And she sang ALL the notes. Nice compliment from an amazing singer who guested on this night.
Wow! Thank you for sharing that story. Really enjoying her music and performances.
I love this performance.
Incredible performance.
Lol we be watching everyone's reaction to this masterpiece by faouzia
Simply mesmerising and out of this world… winner and voted No. 1 of this episode. Can’t wait to see her next performance this Friday.
Incredible performance!
It's arabic first then english... In fact It's a cover on her way to a duo song with Sting and a french Algérien singer Cheb Mami 😊. With in instrument called Oud and her morroccan background did it with quater tone and oriental Spice and Flavour... Her Mother like this song and she did it for her. That's the Big heart of Queen Faouzia. Stay safe
Thank you so much for sharing that info!
the girl in the crowd crying into her hands is me
Faouzia permeates the world with her voice like a desert rose with its aroma captivates and hypnotizes.
Faouzia is an angel from another world ❤
I love Faouzia ❤❤❤ kisses from Italy 😘😘😘
Amazing artist. Greetings from Belgium.
"Desert Rose" is a song co-authored by British musician Sting and Algerian songwriter Cheb Rabah (Rabah Zarradine), featuring Algerian raï singer Cheb Mami, from Sting's sixth solo studio album, Brand New Day (1999)
Beautiful song. Thanks for this info!
My most favorite Sting-song. I love how she sings it. ❤
That was amazing! I thought the version from the Abu Dhabi Cultural Center was killer. This version is over the top!
This was the first time i heard it, but wow! Definitely will listen to some previous renditions.
algerian/English song and moroccan vocals OMG a pure master piece 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Beautiful !
My favorite performance from her during this competition! Some of the others weren’t as polished as she usually sounds, but this one was incredible! Love her voice! 💜
Beautiful performance and reaction
Amazing performance. So good! Thanks for watching.
I just found out about this woman! I could listen to this song on repeat
Incredible artist! Been enjoying her music.
The Arabic part says ( This has been a long time and I have been searching for my deer( deer is his beloved 👸) ya lail ya lail means oh night oh night but it’s not for it’s meaning it’s a known yodel used used in Arabic music
Just an explanation for those who doesn’t know those parts ❤
Thanks so much for this!
The song uses the word "gazelle (غزال or ghzalti)" in Arabic as a term of endearment for the woman he dreams and yearns for.
فوزية المغربية،نحبك يا فنانة
Beautiful performance, thank you for this reaction 💥🫶👌🏼
Incredible performance. Thanks for watching.
Iam in love ❤
The arabic lyrics translation is :
It's been a long time هادي مدة طويلة
That I'm looking for my love وانا نحوس على غزالي
Thank you for sharing!
SHE'S QUEEEENN
What's interesting is that she has covered all 3 of these songs (that she has performed on Singer 2024) before - you'll find several versions of each of them on TH-cam - but this one I think she has the most practice with...although she took it up a notch. I'm wondering if she'll keep covering songs going forward in the competition or if she'll start singing her original music (if that's even allowed?). If not, she still has plenty of covers that she's very familiar with...but not too many will be more routine for her than this one because it's a fan favorite.
Will check some of those versions out. This was a first for me. Amazing.
Artists have sung some of their own songs in past seasons and I assume this remains the case. I believe the shows producers probably limit how many of an artist's own songs can be sung because it could be unfair for the more famous, more experienced contestants with long careers (especially the Chinese competitors) to sing a lot of their own well-known hits. I also tend to believe that the show's producers are interested in seeing how versatile contestants are and so they are encouraged or even required to perform cover songs in various genres and styles.
As an example, Russian pop singer Polina Gagarina competed in the 2019 season of Singer. I know she performed at least three of her own songs. Jessie J also performed at least 3 of her own songs during the 2018 season.
👍👍👍👍
i heard this song live and i was blown away with her vocals
Wow! That is amazing!
Great reaction man, Thanks for uploading it fast; her interpretation of the song is different than the original and I love it she made it her own, You can just close ur eyes and enjoy the voice and the Arabic runs, for the Arabic part here's a translation to help u :
It's been a long time هذه مدة طويلة
That I've been looking for my dear (literally deer haha) وأنا نحوس على غزالتي
but for it to be more accurate in English we can say : For a long time, I've been looking for my beloved...
What a beautiful song. Thanks for the translation. An amazing performance.
我是中国人,这首歌在中国唱哭了很多人😢
@Faouzia just leaves you speechless 😔
100%
This song belongs to Sting and Cheb Mami (Algerian singer). Desert rose

Saeed, Desert Rose is the woman in the song... the sweet perfume
Beautiful!
It's a duet between Sting and Shab Mami.
I absolutely loved your reaction thank you for appreciating her ❤
Thanks so much! She is an incredible artist!
Dont miss Live Sting (composer) and Cheb Mami
The translation basically says (It has been along time, andl I’ve been searching for my babe).
Thanks for letting me know! 🙏🏽
Where to look for my deer..
The translation of the arabic part is
(This is a long time that I am searching for my love)

Just wtf. Is she even ok. I would have cried and not finish the song hahaha
her name is actually pronounce "Fawzeyyah" not whatever you say it but yeah its an arabic name so its a bit hard to say it so,
yeah whatever i loved your reaction! 😊
Will see if i can find a pronunciation online. Thanks for letting me know
Yeah it sounds good, however, no one will ever come close to the airy ease and fluid musicality with which Cheb Mami sings it.
Must check it out some time
That’s nice. We’re focusing on Faouzia.
@@Rosannasfriend you do you.
It's not faojia, it's faouzia with a zee, please at least try to say her name right
I did say a Zee, but maybe its the language barrier. I did not know the correct pronounciation. From all the video's no one has ever corrected me so i did not know it was wrong. Apologied
