I am thinking the Guardian may not be legal according to FAA strobe flash rate rules. There is a minimum of 40 cycles per minute, and a maximum of 100 cycles per minute for a single light. Up to 180 cycles for multiple lights that overlap (meaning more than one visible that are not in sync and make it appear as a faster flash rate). The guardian with its scanning effect may be too fast to be legal. Just FYI. I would personally use it, but the minimum of 40 cycles would be more ideal to conserve energy and not have to charge as often. I am only pointing this out as most people like to state they are meeting the minimum visibility rules but neglect the flash rate rules. There are good reasons for these limits. They increase/ensure visibility. The faster the rate, no matter the brightness, the less visible it becomes as it becomes closer to a simple point source and doesnt attract the eye. Same goes for too slow. Too slow may give an onlooker too much time to look away before seeing it. Among a few other reasons, but those are the most important.
Thank you for your post. Your points are spot on about the flash timing. I was see the same thing while I was comparing them. I haven’t been using the GA for the reasons you point out. They seem impressive up close however, at a distance it doesn’t produce the flash or strobe as well as others. Once again, thank you for your explanation.
Hello, I use the Alctitude strobes, they are very powerful. They can be seen at more than 10 miles and last more than 8 hours on each charge. They have a wireless connection and can have up to 30 strobes with simultaneous ignition and flashing synchronization. They also have the peculiarity that they are completely repairable and all their parts they are achieved. I consider it the best option at the moment, due to its capabilities, power and low price.
Hi Bob, thanks for this video. FYI, I'm REALLY happy with the NEW style Hunter Helmet Strobe that I recently got. Are you familiar with it? It's bright, omnidirectional, self contained, light weight, reasonably priced, has a long runtime, AND acts as a power bank for my GoPro too. Additionally, the TPU "skirt" (that is part of it) really helps to prevent line snags.
Well you got your spill down pat I think its time you take it on the road lol. They all seem pretty good but I think I like that smallest one the best fit right nice on top of my cage. I have a small firehouse on my helmet little dudes pretty damn bright. When it gets dark I put on my helmet turn on the strobe sit on my trike in the garage and pretend I'm flying. It's scary pretending your landing in the darK!!
I really like those. I have a Hunter Strobe mounted on my trike right now and use a Firehouse helmet strobe (not quite as bright) as a back up. Having the Symik as you said for red and green port and starboard strobes would be a nice addition for sure. Curious to they come with any mounting velcro or hardware?

Very nice. Do you have more information on these strobes and how I can get one?
I have a Guardian Angel and a Hunter strobe. Also , have a custom made one, which I wear on my helmet.
Those are good strobes. This new one is pretty sharp.

I’ve had two versions of the Hunter. Would be interested in checking it out. Thanks for the information!!

At 2:00 I show the Velcro and 3m mounting tape. I’m thinking of using magnets to put them in the wing tips.
@@Ohio-PPG-Trike-Adventures Got it, yes I might try these out. I can't wait to see how they look in your wing

Do you think it’s brighter than the guardian?
It really is very bright. It is more of a strobe than the Guardian that flashes.
Bob I love my hunter strobe because it's so bright and multi directional. How bright is the Symik compared to the hunter?
Symik really bright. Not as directional as Hunter.
