RIP Genius Dave.I still can't believe we have lost him.I met him only once after a stranglers gig they done in Glasgow's barrowlands.he took time out to speak to me and he was with his lovely wife Pam.to me he was gentleman and very humble.I just wanna say this is a massive loss to all in the strangler's family. A big thankyou Dave for your contribution to music.the music you gave us all will last forever my friend.never forgotten.😢💕
Seen both these bands live...stranglers many times. However, the one time when I saw the Stranglers minus Dave after his death it just wasn't the same.
Not much of a fan of Simple Minds, but I gotta say, Jim Kerr brings a bit of 60s New Year underground cool vocal style to this. And their drummer is excellent. RIP Dave Greenfield
Dave Greenfields keyboard sounds (no doubt careful samples of the original instruments) were so true to the original sounds that made that song such an identifiable signature of the Stranglers. His manual arpeggios that vacillated between major and minor in a very clever way often really provided a melodic dissonance to that music. It was very unique what he contributed to those songs in that way. In my mind the top keyboard player of all time. That video was pure magic.
The Baz and Jim show ( a mad combo that actually really, really works! ) That drummer has ENERGY good you mate! Dave Greenfield is the best keyboard player in the world....JJ keep rockin
Wow. Great energy. The Simple Mind band fits in superbly . Wonder if Hugh likes this too? Did this recording get released in uk or anything? This sounds fresh but how would I know.
The stranglers will never be the same with hugh gone and now jett they all had that raw talent and closeness.i wont go and see them anymore i cant stick warne just my opinion on a great band and my favorite band that were once great
Thr bass is hidden by the volume of that guitar. Wrong. But the keys come through and the Scotts blokes voice is not as much of a let down as they usually are so..
Jim Kerr looks like he not needed there.Nothing to contribute on this song ,too much energy 4 him. Excellent Drum and Bass combo. Best by far version of this song.
*I watched The Stranglers early this year at Manchester Academy they were disappointing I was expecting Hugh Cornwell but was told he was no longer in the band so I asked for a refund - rip off merchant robbing bastards*

Bring this show back to the 9:30 Club in DC, Jim! What an amazing double bill.

Anyone have any idea where Jim Kerr purchased that cool jacket
Was it the only song by the Stranglers Mind ?

"Industrial Disease". I expect that's what you are being reminded of ;-)
JJ & Mel Gaynor meshed tight AF.
Dave is Down In The Sewer playing music with his rats 🎹🐀🥀

Knock out !
Good value for money, aye
I'd like punk rock if it wasn't for the organ. bit too Doors really

The Jim Kerr of 1979 would have sounded better.
Jim Kerr doesn't fit here, sorry, but this is strong "in yer face" music, not to be sung in a laid back style. Let Baz do it properly.
some clown talking about the stranglers as a backing band.

Simple Minds singer didn't fit... wrong energy and interpretation... music solid though
Who the f*ck let Jim Kerr anywhere near this ?
Well who wouldn't want to sing with God!
*I watched The Stranglers early this year at Manchester Academy they were disappointing I was expecting Hugh Cornwell but was told he was no longer in the band so I asked for a refund - rip off merchant robbing bastards*
Don't you think Baz is the perfect replacement for Hugh ?
*Not really no!*
+Joe Soap Pity !
*He was okay*
How come all these conversations turn into insults ? :-/
