Pretty sure you can't play this glorious mess without reading the tooltips, you're gonna explode as soon as you press your first button at the start of a run if you don't.
Yes. I do, in fact, read the tool tips. After the many times I got screwd by not reading stuff, I have become traumatized enough that, I'm physically incapable of not reading stuff on an rpg. If something has text, I'm reading it.
The other game he showed in the video for a few moments is called Elin. It's a sequel to Elona+. Both are amazing but Elin also has a crafting/building system on top. Basically if anyone like stuff like Zomboid, kenshi or rimworld, they might really like Elin too.
I read the tips and the tutorial the first time because: 1. If the developers believed it to be something important to spell out, I feel like listening to the people who made the game is a good start. And, 2. I don't like feeling like an idiot when something that would have made my game better was in the manual or tips to start with about 300 hours ago.
This Path Of Achra Review video is not good for reaction content, not because it's bad, because it's like trying to understand esoteric knowledge from a book that you dig up from a crypt of a dead lord. so people just mind blank after a while, or maybe that's the point. Edit: this doesn't mean Seth video are not good reaction content, I would even say the opposite, like his Elden Ring review, Earths Defense Force Review and Starfield Review, are pretty good react content. That I would like to see in the future
@@gloverwilliams If you Re-read my comment and try to understand it, You might notice that I'm not talking about the quality of the review, rather it's not good a good reaction "content", not all video is good reaction content but that doesn't mean they are bad video.
Heavily recommend watching Sseth's review of Synthetik, easily one of my favorite roguelikes and the sequel is even better. Can't beat accidentally shooting yourself in the face with a sniper rifle because ANGLES
Depends entirely on the game Paws. Usually I read them, but occasionally I run across a game that is very "push this button to win" and I don't really need to read them.
About reading tooltips in games... I am a part of a community of a certain game which is known for lacking reading skills. However I'm so paranoid I have to read. In this game I've figured out a couple of builds and just hit my head on the wall with them, sometimes on the run. But it's a lot of fun.
Regarding the 'shit' graphics. They're "simplistic" or "expedient" ;) So those games can concentrate on the depth because of the shit graphics .... the more you enhance graphics (3D, Physics etc.) the more bugs you WILL encounter in the game, so the less stuff happening on screen the better your troubleshooting works, because you don't have to take those things into the equation as well. Same goes for his reviews of i.e. Dwarf Fortress, Caves of Qud, Star Sector or Space Station 13. If you go so deep with mechanics etc. you have to cut short on the 'bling' ... especially if you're alone or in a small team.
Reading tooltips comes down to genre and complexity and familiriaty of effect for example I don’t nessacerily need to know that fire burns for 50th time.
A part of the game is *to guess* what are you seeing or doing. No need for rules or tooltips. If you die, you die, as long as you have fun (and in pvp no one knows what you do, not even yourself)
Path of Achra is literally "are ya winning, son?"
"I... Don't know"
Yeah, I have no idea if my build is working until I really start losing.
your voice isn't horrible, its very soothing
Agree 100%
It just makes me happy when she talks
Her voice is the best sound to listen to while working so I 1000% agree 👍
I absolutely agree with that, a very pleasant voice and infectious laugh as well, makes me smile.
I sometimes just start one of her videos to watch when I feel stressed.
Yes, i absolutely read tooltips, couldn't imagine playing a complex game without reading
Pretty sure you can't play this glorious mess without reading the tooltips, you're gonna explode as soon as you press your first button at the start of a run if you don't.
I read when im forced to
Otherwise i just bash through
Same.
If something has text, I feel myself compelled to read It. I can't play any RPG without reading every piece of text given to me.
Cute paws with scarf combo is killing me

leave it to sseth and the merchants guild to find these frankenstein monster kind of games. So much content and depth in a shitpost like review.
Paws your videos always make me happy.
Paws is distracting. Her hat is too cute.
Its the ear wiggle
Every time we manage to look away, then our peripheral vision drags our eyes to the ears where the hat traps them again

Thanks, I was going to look for the name tonight, saved me the trouble 🙏
Is there a reason why it's called like that one race in TERA?

Then you play the game and every word makes sense.
@@gloverwilliams tbh the interactions explained in the video make sense in the context of the video without needing to add up much.

Also, your scarf and hat are lovely. Very cute.
Just dropping this here...

I usually read tooltips, unless I get really tired of reading, then I try brute force, fail horribly, and get annoyed at myself for not reading.
Seth happens to love Vtubers, you got a chance Paws
Christmas Paws 😊
I have to read all tooltips on everything. Whole manual too preferably.

I read most of the first time playing
Brainlet friend: This game is too hard! It makes no sense!
Me: Read what the game tells you!
A kiddie pool you drown in? Isn't that just a well?

I need this after the videos I've seen today.
You good bro ?
@@Fal-ip2zf I am now. Paws made it better.
Did you have a morbid curiousity moment?
Have you seen Sseth's Path of Exile 1 video?
I haven't, but it just popped up on my recommended, so I added it to the watch list 👀

I read them obsessively
Love your videos ❤
Paws of Exile
05:00-05:30 a housecat enters the stream...

Wait, a vTuber that can read?
Paws your should make the Starting frame of this video your background
