[Sprite Animation] Death Egg Robot Battle & KNUCKLES

- The giant robot suits are broken out a little earlier than usual.
This day marks exactly two years since "part 1" of this series. Originally it was cancelled, but a lot of people enjoyed it so I made a part 2! I started working on this in January (not consistently!) and here this is, almost 11 months later.
In actuality, this is actually the 4th part, with the previous part actually being the 2nd. Part 1 and 4 have never been finished or released, and since this series isn't meant to make sense anymore it has little connection with the unseen parts.
You probably noticed the white lines in the background while watching this video. Unfortunately, that seems to be a major visual bug present in Adobe Flash CS6 and there is little I can do about. I wanted to do accurate BG parallax effects as seen in the original game.

I love this stuff,,, Im disabled and literally just sit around all day watching wrestling youtube videos,, playing old video games, rom hacks, Id kill to be able to make this kinda stuff. Would be insane to have like a whole hour long movie story using the Genesis Sonic games and sprites!
If you like that stuff you should watch sonic oddshow or sonic 3 retold!
There is actually a Russian Sonic fan film for almost 2 hours made entirely of Genesis sprites. It's called Dr.Eg.D.S. (С.Тай.Д.Эг.)

I know what you're probably thinking, 'Ugh, another guy came and watched the video with the annoying white lines in it.' but I'm here to watch it, and say no. The white lines aren't a big deal at all. In fact, in many areas, it actually improves on it by giving it kind of a retro, CRT kind of vibe. When watching in a lower resolution like 480p, it builds even further on that effect and I'd miss it if it wasn't there. My advice would be to re-upload the video with only a lower resolution available and perhaps speed up some movements a bit. But other than that, it's entertaining, clever and overall, one of the best Sonic sprite animations I've ever seen on TH-cam. (And I kid you not, I have seen a LOT of Sonic sprite animations on TH-cam.)
Well, I see what you mean about the lines and I appreciate the kindness, but you don't have to pretend to like them. Regarding the movements, I definitely see what you mean and I'm surprised my brother didn't catch that (he usually does). I'll admit that speed is something that I have trouble striking a good balance with. I'm not going to reupload this video though, just because I'm disappointed with it and just want to do something else. It can also be difficult to fix timings once the entire thing is already put together.
And wow, that last part means a lot, really. I did try really hard with this one, it was the most difficult animation that I have ever made. I'm curious as to why you enjoyed it as much as you did though.
Yeah, I fully understand that it's hard to stay consistent with movements in sprite animations like these, even though I haven't actually made any (yet). Also, I'm not pretending to like them (the lines). They genuinely help create a nice, retro aesthetic, which is always welcome with me. And why do I like it so much? It just has so much care and attention put into it, and the end result is fantastic. Also, the use of only the classic Sonic sound effects (and a few voice samples) is hilarious. Something about it makes it so much better than what it would've been if you carelessly slapped any old sound effect on top of everything. And you must have studied the Sonic sound tests very carefully. 😂 You know your videos are very underrated, so don't be surprised when I say this is one of the finest sprite animations on TH-cam.

Unrelated, but is there any news to the release date of 3C delta part 2? I understand that coding and making sprites and other parts of making a game are very long processes, but it would be nice to hear a rough estimate of it's release date. Progress videos would be nice too! Just saying.
You can also just ignore this if you want.
Its current state is complicated and I cannot guarantee future releases. Sorry.

The Metal Sonic sprites were made by a user named Mecha Knuckles.
