    You should try mixing it with a coffee grinder or a small blender. The colours comes out just perfect. No specs.

    I use a small ceramic mortar and pestal to make sure the pigment is as smooth as possible b4 adding acrylic

    Good idea for us diy at home gals who don't want to spend a fortune on products meant for full time nails techs.
    Now I have the colors of the rainbow at my disposal when I increase my acrylic skill!

    If you use a mortar and pestle. You could mix better and you will not have those little specks.

    From what i'm seeing the mixers reccomend using a 1 to 2 ratio 1 scoop of colour to 2 scoops of acrylic powder .

    Great try Anastasia👍As a lot of other girls has said, you can get rid of the specs if you grind it together in a mortar and pestel. But it will of course not be the best colored acrylic anyway😉😊 This was something I played with in the beginning of my nail adventure😁 I also used highly pigmented eyeshadow😁🙈 Tfs sweetie 💖

    Great video!
    I'm not a pro by a long shot, self taught baby beginner.
    I tried this, too. I used far less color powder. I was very happy with the results. Mixed with white acrylic gave an opaque result, clear gave a more translucent "jelly" result. I used a bit of white acrylic and mostly clear for my final mixture.
    I used a pumice to grind my chalk, I had some bits of color powder that were larger than dust, they "bloom" with application into a marble look, happy accident for me. Next time, I'll try the efile for (hopefully) a more even color result.
    I absolutely love the suggestion to use different brushes for clear and white, colors and a lesser loved one for experiments. They are expensive, after all. Well worth the money for quality tools for quality results.
    Tysmfs 💕💅

    For chalk I hear you need to add white acrylic, not clear for it to be darker

  • @kelleywood4498
    @kelleywood4498 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I would think that adding chalk to the acrylic would interfere with the integrity of the nail. Make it less solid and more likely to crumble. Same as adding nail polish or gel polish to monomer liquid to create a tint also breaks down the chemistry of the monomer. Cool ideas in theory and fun to play with, but I don’t think I would use any of these ideas on an actual client. Would you?

    • @MaicenMaica
      @MaicenMaica 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Coloured acrylic should always be capped with clear anyways as they usually dont have any strengt in them (unless they are core powders). So I dont think it should matter tbh.

    • @kelleywood4498
      @kelleywood4498 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MaicenMaica there are always some people who will attempt to do exactly that.

      Colored acrylic isn’t meant for strength and integrity anyway. Sounds like you watched Nail Career Education’s video on this.

    • @kelleywood4498
      @kelleywood4498 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HeyitsBri_ and afterward, I spoke with Jim McConnell just to make sure I wasn’t too far out in left field. But yeah. Too many impurities in chalk and it can result in service breakdown. Not to mention that you never really know what else is in the chalk and the possibility of a reaction is there.

    *Don't use Your Nail drill for this, so many Creators & Followers have Ruined their drills. *There's air holes for the Motor in The Hand Piece & the Dust Will go on it and ruin it. Be careful
    There's other tools like files,callus remover,or mortal & pastel.
