I don't think they're replacing them. A mini Thomas already existed so maybe they're just adding on to that existing line.
I even also agree with you cuz there is a set which has the new mini aeg Thomas I think it is crystal caves.

It’s not replacing the push along line. According to a 2024 checklist, the Minis line is simply becoming a sub-range of Push Along.

I don’t know why they’re making the push along toys even more squished then before, they look like if you put a Thomas minis engine on a push along chassis and make them a bit more chunkier

Really interesting things are really cool, even some of the logo prototypes of the Royal engine.
Seriously? Look, I may not be a big fan of the reboot, but I always complemented the merchandise for being accurate to the series.
But now, not only are they taking away the front couplings, which limits your ability to play with the models, but there’s squashing their proportions down even further than they already were
It's almost as if the toys were designed first and the characters were designed with the toys in mind.
At this point they look like minis on a push along chassis

The mini versions are sub part in the range, whereas Push Along is yet to manufacture Annie and Clarabel in a three pack, Terence, tankers, and Skiff (although its odd that Beresford doesn't have any merch, despite not doing much in AEG)

@harrisonallen651 If I were running the MINIS line, I'd release new models of characters that haven't been featured in that line yet, like Donald, Douglas, Oliver, Toad, Mavis, and Daisy.
