saw a snippet of this on instagram and came here to watch the full video. I love that you let him speak mostly and didn't talk over him. excellent, informative video. I learned a lot. he's a cool dude. you don't hear a lot of people online or doctors especially talking the way that he does about surgery. it's very refreshing!

Also as a photographer/video maker, lens distortion and angles makes a big difference to how people look in photos. I'm also in front of camera everyday and honestly you have to say to yourself, f it, carry on, there is no point getting upset about how I look, try to be in a good mood or not tired seems to make the biggest difference to how I perceive myself. I can work on my overall fitness (I test bikes for work) and manage that out come but apart from that there is no point in getting upset about every angle and how I look. It takes really a lot of work to have every angle ideal. In the grand scheme of things that time is poorly spent and will change nothing, apart from irritating yourself.
Also I keep telling people to stop making their lives about photos and how they look in them. Unless you are getting paid proper money for your photos, don't worry about it just chill, its ok. Im in pictures only because I ride the bike or talk about it. I certainly don't get paid for me in the picture, it's about the bike.

This was so good! I agree with EVERYTHING in this. Truly the responsibility lies within the hands of the doctors and them deciding who is actually fit to be operated on.. in all aspects. They have a moral and ethic responsibility to their patients. And then the responsibility of us to not lie to each other about what we’ve had/not had done AND to do the proper research for the greatest possible outcome. Love it! Thank you for sharing this!

I hope you gain whatever tools you need to love yourself.
A tidbit I learned in one of my psychology classes...... 85-90% of humans, wouldn't recognize themselves when faced with a clone.
Our perception of our apparence is wildly different from the reality of what we look like.
I truly believe that beauty comes from within. When you're a good person and you're happy in life, those qualities shine through and make you attractive. Confidence is attractive.
Don't be so hard on yourself. Just be a decent human and your beauty will be evident. 😍

Listen Reaper, talk to me when insurance pays for and most importantly women can have a drug like viagra. We go through some serious shit in life. We get periods that cause all sorts of problems,we are labeled emotionally crazy,a bitch,we hurt. Physically and mentally from this. Then guess what, when we don't get our periods it's because we are either pregnant and growing a watermelon that we have to put through a hole the size of your nostril. Or we are not getting our periods because bam right after that we have menopause and that is worse than anything. However nobody funds a pill like viagra for us. You guys even have a flipping procedure that will fix your poor little penis if it's a little crooked and looks like a carrot. We got nothing. No insurance is giving out labiaplasties

It was encouraging to hear Dr. Rahban speak about his belief that plastic surgeons should not suggest additional procedures to their patients beyond what they come in asking for. I believe this approach to medicine exemplifies everything that a physician should strive to be. As a plastic surgeon, the primary goal should be to practice beneficence by removing harm and promoting good. Patients often present to plastic surgeons feeling vulnerable and exposed, as they have an insecurity that bothers them so much that they are willing to go through drastic measures to change it. Plastic surgery is a difficult field dealing with patients in a compromised psychological state, and any suggestion of additional procedures beyond what the patient wants can further exacerbate a patient's vulnerability. Therefore, plastic surgeons must prioritize their patients' autonomy by only providing information about the issues that bother them instead of bringing up other potential areas of “improvement” and risking the additional psychological consequences that may ensue. It is concerning to hear that suggesting extra procedures to patients may be standard practice for some plastic surgeons. Such behavior is not only unethical but also puts patients in danger by increasing the risk of complications that come with the addition of extra procedures. These practices are unacceptable and completely contradict the oath that physicians take to “do no harm.” In all, the ethical considerations surrounding plastic surgery require physicians to be sensitive to the psychological state of their patients, prioritize patient autonomy, and always act in the best interests of their patients. A physician who practices beneficence takes the time to get to know their patients by performing thorough consultations before agreeing to perform any procedures, and if necessary, does not agree to operate on a patient if it is unsafe. These are qualities that not only plastic surgeons but all physicians should strive to exemplify.

@@Pandawatcher1704 pretty sure she talked about all of that. And if she didn't ask it directly it was touched on by what he spoke about. He spoke about the changing beauty standards throughout the years. What they didn't so was sit there and blame men for everything. He also spoke about body dysmorphoa and how he talks people out of thinking about their bodies in negative ways when he has a consult with them. I think you were wanting those specific questions and then for those questions to be answered from a critical feminist perspective.

However I do love that it helped so many women who otherwise were despondent about their bodies love their bodies. I actually think they look good… I don’t think it looks good when women get so much plastic surgery to fake enhance and distort their bodies.

I had to have my nose done 10 times because of doctors like you guys because no doctor did what I wanted. They all did what they thought was the best thing for me so I had to have it done 10 times until I met the right doctor that actually listen to me so he did the notes that I really dreamed off and then the case closed but you guys want to act like you know everything.

Laura if you had 10 nose jobs you're incredibly mentally ill. You have face that already exists, they cannot create bone and shape where there is none. You sound like a nightmare patient with deep mental illness and the exact type of crazy who shouldn't go under the knife. Talk about a nightmare of fucking projection. It's not their fucking fault you hate your face 🤷‍♀️

but who is "men"? ofc men find younger women attractive. the same way as if you saw a hot 23 year old life guard or firefigher or fitness instructor youd be attracted to him in a different way than your husband of 20 years. men understand that women desire the younger looks but also understand women value success. it seems as if women need to realize the same thing for themselves and not be so dependent on some man saving them. because be honest. if youve got success, youve got money, if youve got money youve got access to good looks. be realistic and stop being 1 way sexist when in reality women look good for and compete with WOMEN almost entirely.

Can’t we slightly attribute the level of “fox eye arch” that Bella & Gigi Hadid achieved to their Middle Eastern culture? That is to say that not every girl will have the same result

Exactly what I thought. Men cannot place a value on a woman - looks or otherwise - unless she accepts it, then it is her problem and not theirs.
