Very good explanation of rules! Subscribed to your channel. I tried to watch others how to play cubitos, but you gave the best understanding how the cards and even movement works - Thank you
Corrections: 1. The white player accidentally started with 8 light grey dice instead of 7! 2. At 58:31 Blue's entire run phase was skipped by accident :(
And JGG strikes again. A game I decided I wasn't really interesting in based on earlier coverage by other people, and then Jon makes a video and all of a sudden this looks really interesting.
I originally didn't pay this game much mind when I saw it on BGG but after watching your playthrough of it I'm changing my tune, I have a soft spot for deck/bag building type games like this and thought the implementation was well done. I like the possibility for massive replayability given the sheer number of abilities the different dice can have from game to game. Excellent work as always.

Great playthrough but I did notice that when you went to start the next round at 58:33 you actually skipped the blue player's turn who had gotten A LOT of dice that you had even pointed out at the top of that particular round.
Hey I don’t think the rules subtitles caught that but I believe every time you rolled a 1 (with a square around it) on the starting player die you treated it as receiving 1 temporary buying power instead of receiving 1 credit as it indicates. Hopefully you know this and don’t play it like this every time you play this game! Loved the full play through of this. I just got it for Christmas this year and I really enjoy it so far!
Huh, we definitely played it was taking 1 credit. I didn't see a spot in this video where I seemed to be saying otherwise, sorry if I made this confusing.
@@JonGetsGames no worries! Just wanted to make sure you weren’t playing it incorrectly. I did find at least one instance at 42:40 but no matter if you play it with taking the credit. Just wanted to make sure you weren’t cheating yourself out of getting a credit! Thanks for making such thorough and fun videos!
Hey Jon, thanks for doing this game! It looks really cool and like something I'd like. Sadly I dont have a lot of board gaming friends and there isn't a solo mode either lol. Ps reliever beaver :p
I wish there was more information on the cards, the mugglers does not explain what you have to do unless you look at the rulebook. I know they wanted to save space but it's more practical to just tell what it does on the card. And the el bantito card should have the actual pic of a credit, not some random blue square.
Dang, yeah I screwed up during setup and accidentally gave one player 8 light grey dice instead of 7. Thanks for pointing that out, I've added a note about this to the Klingon subtitles.
@@JonGetsGames That's ok, I'm more concerned about the games you show us, rather than the exact accuracy...just my ocd making me count the dice :))) Well done, anyways, might grab a copy of Cubitos as I like the mechanic of the game \m/
Mistake at 9:16, the rules are clear that when an ability refers to active dice, it does not matter if their faces and blanks or not, unless specified. So here the green die does not need to show the shield for you to roll it again, even if it’s blank, you can use that ability.
@@JonGetsGames ...and the die face does look like a beaver. Sometimes content creators make mistakes like this because they don't know the game well enough; in this case, ironically, it's because you knew it too well to confuse it with a card not in play. :)
Best tutorial/playthrough I’ve seen, very informative and easy to follow - thank you!!!

Great video, as usual!

Really appreciate your methodical and thorough approach, Jon.
The squared 1 on the start player dice will give 1 credit and not 1 buying power. And thanks for all the great videos!
Crap, you are right! I totally forgot about that while filming this.
Thanks for making that tutorial. I really needed an overview of the rules.
Excellent teaching of this game ... thanks you are definitely the best at playthroughs
Thank you Jon, I was really curious about this after hearing about it on Blue Peg, Pink Peg.
Thanks Jon, that was great. I saw the review on SU&SD but was curious how this would actually play out. Seems a really neat game.
Domo Arigato, Jon-sama!
Quacks of Quedlinburg is a tough act to follow... Thanks for another great play through!
I don't see the connection between the two games, what ties them together for you?

Yikes, that is a huge mistake! Thanks for mentioning it, I've added a note to the Klingon subtitles as well as the pinned corrections comment.

One Stop Co-op Shop has a solo play-through with some variants.😃
102:13 The Yellow player has 6 dice in the active area and 2 in the roll area which means they only rolled 8 dice.
Maybe this will be answered later in the video, but why not simply move a used die to the discard area rather than turn it to a blank side?
Unfortunately, it's been too long since I played this game to remember the rules enough to answer your question. Sorry about that!

This feels like somebody watched quodd heroes and then made their own game.
Saving this video for a new drinking game... drink every time Jon says "reliever beaver"
I said it SO MANY TIMES. In my defense that is one of the orange cards, apparently I have a subconscious soft spot for that one in particular :P
