I like how the doorsteps on the trains drop and raise depending on whether you're at the station platform or not. On the other hand, how much drag does it make on the train if there's a lot of snow or dirt on them, especially on a wintery day?
Thank you for your comment. Yamagata Shinkansen and Akita Shinkansen vehicles have door steps that open and close according to the width of the platform. The reason is that some sections of the train run on conventional lines with narrow track widths. I can't explain in detail, but I believe that Shinkansen vehicles are equipped with snow protection because there are areas in Japan that get a lot of snow.

東北・上越・北陸新幹線より東海道新幹線の方が利用者が多いですよね?
利用者数は断然東海道の方が多いと思います。東京、名古屋、大阪の3大都市圏を結んでますからね!
