  • The second episode of the Thinking Tackle podcast, Simon Pitt met with Damian Clarke. A big fish angler and MD of Korda Developments Ltd. Damian has a place within the Carp Fishing Hall Of Fame and has a history of breaking records dating back from the early 90’s when he caught ‘The Snake Pit Common’ at a then, record breaking weight of 45lb 12oz and has since continued to both target and successfully capture some of worlds largest carp becoming the first British angler to catch three 80lb+ carp from three different lakes!
    Saussaie Common: 88lb
    The Scared Mirror 93lb.8oz
    Erics Common 85lb.12oz
    .
If you own an item of Korda tackle, it’s likely to have come across Damo’s desk first in the development process. His extreme eye for detail and devotion to carp fishing has made him one of the most influential names in the industry, not just for revolutionary products but for ensuring Korda remains a respected influencer throughout carp fishing as a whole.

Legend. His Snake Pit common capture was the most inspirational in my opinion.

I'm really glad you're doing this. It's especially nice for those of us living across the Atlantic that don't have the opportunity to meet these guys at fishing shows and expos. The fishing history and motivational factors behind the individual is particularly interesting.

Loved hearing the stories about Savay lake. Lived and fished around that part of the Colne valley for nearly 30 years, before moving away and who can forget the horse and barge pub? Lol.

Guys, first off great insight to what you all do at Korda, you mention that it's possible to get on savay with a day only ticket?and that it's not a closed shop.
was this tongue in cheek? I cannot for the life of me find any information for this at all anywhere far short of getting in my car and driving for 3 hours and waiting by the gate (which I am prepared to do!) any info would be much appreciated.

The man behind the camera is useless. They are talking about each carp for awhile knowing we all want to see a picture at the end and every time he wasn’t ready with the picture. What are you doing behind there???
