I saw the singer in a concert for another small band in a music festival something like 4 months ago. To tell you the truth he sang so off pitch it could be painful but he had such a good vibe and charisma on scene that i still had a good time. I thought it was a great representation to how this band can make you feel, beyond the technique there are feelings and depth to them.
n g it’s Asian Kung-Fu Generation. Lead singer and rhythm guitarist is masafumi goto, drummer is ijichi kiyoshi, Yamada takahiro is the bassist and lead guitarist is kita kensuke :) listen to their other songs like re:re, kimi to iu hana, rewrite, soranin etc etc etc. Their music is a gem!
The nostalgic feeling in the chord progression is cuz they often have the same notes and only changes the necessary notes to make a different harmonic, idk what it was called, but anchor notes is called ostinato notes and the only change necessary notes is quite common when you first learn how to write choir music.
This band has been a huge influence on my life since 2014, and their new album reminds me of what I love about them. I don't understand Japanese, yet somehow their lyrics seem to always leave me in tears. Sadly I have no friends who listen to them, so I can only talk about them on Reddit lol

1000 π Wonder Future is great... until the chorus. Which is utter crap. The verses are fab- friggin’ love the intro... then the chorus and criiiiiinge. Over all I do like the song. It’s a damn shame the chorus kinda mars it. Imo.
That said- there are very, very few songs of their’s that are “automatic skips” when they come on. That’s rare for me- I’m picky as hell. But yeah- not all their songs are great but personally, I feel majority are. Each album has a song or two which... don’t work. Or aren’t my taste. Or flat out suck (lookin’ at you “Microphone”). Except Feedback File 2. Other then like... 3? 4? Songs- ugh. No. Sorry. This is majority of my “automatic skips”. But of course, just personal opinion. People who disagree and feel there is no such thing as a bad song- that’s cool too. Fans can like whatever and feel whatever imo. Idk. Shutting up now.
It took a few listens (I’m often hesitant on new songs due to the unfamiliarity) but god this song has grown on me so much- it makes me smile every time I listen to it. I absolutely love it now. The video cheers me up throughout the day. All the smiles! Yeah, this is a more mellow song but it’s nice to hear some slower songs from them. It still has elements of their usual rock in the chorus even with the slower tempo. Ok. I’m done rambling but aaaaaaaaah! So happy and very excited for the new album!
