I remember my first trip to Africa, I had only been there a few days and was on an overcrowded bus from Zimbabwe to Zambia and the bus stopped at a fueling station late at night. I knew little about Africa and even less about African music but when I heard the sweet musical tones that was probably Oliver and his band on the small speakers at the station I was hooked. My life was never the same again. I was lucky to see him perform twice in Melbourne many years later.

First he is from Zimbabwe, he was on a tour...
He songs in shona dialect called korekore
He is in essence saying being ungrateful is a form of witchcraft.... Thats the theme of the song... Song on 8 min
      Song on 15 mins
      He is saying
Everything in life you have to ask from the owner....
You cannot just take whats not yours...
He gives examples in the song
      He also says
There is noone who is inferior to another.. So jus ask from the owner even though he might look inferior to you.... Thats what he is singing....

The music was awesome! I also don't quite understand what should be wrong with the interviewer, for he did a fine job in my opinion. He wasn't bored, not at all. He might actually have been pretty immersed in the music, you know, well concentrated and calm. He just chose to play down himself in order to give more space to the musician, which I believe is the right approach. I really enjoyed this show - subscribed. Have a nice day. :)

Indeed talent is silent and humble but distinct and undeniable. It is amazing how Oliver Mutukudzi is a powerhouse of musical talent but does not seem to fully realise it. Maybe talent is also blind. Listen to his lyrics and rhythm and you will surely get a quenching of the yearnings of an inquisitive musical soul. Hands up TUKU.

Damn that was sick, great singing. Oliver emphasizes not only the attack of each note but the release of some of the notes he sings which creates a good effect in my mind. I would have preferred a steel string guitar. But damn, the instruments are pocket.. and everything he talks about is some wise shit.

We have a daughter who has cerebral palsy and is non-verbal... she loves Tuku so much... we were planning to either invite Tuku to our home or take her to his concert that did not happen due to his illness and eventual passing... May your soul rest in peace Tuku; looking forward to seeing and meeting in the next life.
