Prefab Sprout is the good stuff. Paddy McAloon and Thomas Dolby started to talk after Swoon and Thomas wound up producing for Sprout during the Steve McQueen (called "Two wheels -good" in the US) period. Try "Moving the River" by P Sprout.
That was great, I really like Prefab Sprout and have done since they first came on the scene, they are a great little band, or were. I have a Paddy MacAloon album and it is a real nice piece of music, even has a guy I know playing on it, Thomas Dolby. I met him when I was working on renovating his seedy little apartment with gold and platinum and silver albums adorning the narrow hallway. He soon took them to a safe place, nice guy.
All of their albums are worth checking out. But in particular, Steve McQueen is brilliant. Paddy McAloon is a stellar songwriter and I've always thought that he would've been a great broadway songwriter since a bunch of his songs could be in musicals. Other of their albums to listen to: From Langley Park to Memphis, Jordan: The Comeback, Andromeda Heights, The Gunman and Other Stories, and I Trawl the Megahertz.
'Bonny' is beautiful, a true work of art.
Thanks for watching!
nearly 40 years old and Steve McQueen still gets a regular listen.
