There's a lot of work to move those engines, plus a lot of work making sure they're serviceable. Some of them could be blown, some could have shot transmissions, and if you break them for parts that's even more time and labour. Barry was lucky he had a contact able to take them all at once. Both got a fair deal.

Pawn stars and American pickers and storage whores have all shared items before because all 3 shows are STAGED and at one point all were produced by A&E
Hot wheels racing car, look still in the package, easy $1300 bill right there. Look a rock that got kicked in the unit, that’s gotta be-worth $500 bill
I know right? These vids they always find a locker that is just 99% junk and then for some reason there is some insanely valuable item that fits no-where into the theme of the locker just waiting in there for them
This show is mostly ridiculous but that dude with the sports and art unit cashed out HUGE. I’d save all the sports signed memorabilia and wait till it increases even more
Before anyone starts criticizing everything let me tell you something I work for a liquidation store so sometimes he comes across really rare things and my boss was trying to buy that cookie set of the Wizard of Oz. He didn’t win it someone did and it was north of $7000. So before you guys start going at me, hear some of these prices are not out of that rage
For everyone who keeps saying everything is overpriced... The money amounts they are saying needs to get them a profit as well, and antique/thrift stores like their own are notorious for being overpriced. That's why they have such unique items subject to a few people who will pay anything to get that item.
The way they throw out the worth of something loosy goosey cracks me up! “let’s just call it..(insert amount)”, “yeah, that’ll be (insert amount here)”...wow everyone in the world would be millionaires with their collections taking that approach!
Storage wars in a nutshell: this grabage bin is a find! I mean just look at that rotting bag of tomatoes! And those bananas too? easy couple grand just right there!
I have a serious question to ask and a serious answer would be much appreciated. I got introduced to these "Storage Wars" videos last night and till last night I did not know a thing about buying storage units in auction and I still don't know much about it. My question is that is this real ? I mean buying of a storage container for a couple of hundred bucks that could contain items worth thousands of dollars ? I'd much appreciate if somebody could educate me about it.
I'm not an expert by far but what i can say after watching many episodes is: 1) this show is very scripted, a lot of things happen because the producers want to happen. The ones that have "rare" items are probably given to them to make the show interesting. The chances in reality to find a storage with a "treasure" are probably much lower 2) the values that they give to most of the items are estimates, and they overprice it a lot. For example, the guy saying that the vista pc costs $300, nobody would pay that amount on a old, used, standard office pc. 3) most of these people have big thrift stores, where they sell a lot this things for a low price, that's how they make profit. A normal person alone probably couldn't sell most of these things fast enough to make a profit. In conclusion, you could try to make the same thing, but the margins are much different from what the show presents. Again, this is my conclusion based in the many episodes that i watched.
the concept is real. when people don't pay their rent on their storage locker, the storage facility becomes the owner of it, and they auction it off to regain what was not paid in rent.
When the show went for super annoying and got Renee, they really got that one on the money. He's unwatchable most of the time, but his girlfriend is very watchable.
Nah ricks experts are more accurate than those just looking at it then suddenly give a price not even looking at carefully and not giving the background story
2:00 "I hate losing money. But I love it when Brandi's wrong". What kind of relationship is that? You love it and you feel happy when you see your life partner fail? That's a masochism relationship right there. Seriously, Jarrod needs to get his head check.
40 motors with lots of parts and transmission for 10 grand. For sure that is a steal. 1 motor should be sell at least 500 dollars, with lots parts should be at least 5k more. At least it should be 25k

Nobody is going to pay $300 for a computer that's about ten years old. It's worth absolutely nothing.
Yea some vista-era AMD phenom prebuilt with a cheap monitor.. not even worth $300 5 years ago.
Worth 30 dollar
Windows Vista, atleast 300!!! LOL
Seriously though! Worth about 20 bucks at this point
Y'all be surprised at just how much some vintage computer cases go for
40 motors for 10 grand is a steal. Would’ve taken that in a heartbeat
i think a motor averages about 3 grand? do some basic math and ya got a fat W

It probably only cost 400 when it was brand new at the time this show was filmed it was at best 100 in value.
Very ugly bent cabinet worth 250 dollars makes sense
The amount of hi end stuff left by ppl in lockers is unbelievable
Too bad its staged...things inside the lockers are put in there on purpose.

Unbelievably, she is his wife.
None of this stuff is worth anything until someone else buys it. Until then, it’s junk.
I'm glad Brandi broke up with Jarod. They definitely had no chemistry.
