Well done, thank you for uploading this video. What an excellent combination, the beautiful voice of Gordon MacRae and the expert dancing of Donald O'Connor. Thank you again.
This so very nice! The ringing, rich baritone of the estimable Gordon MacRae, off set by the so accomplished dancing of the fleet of foot Donald O`Connor with, for one, Vera Ellen - I believe I`m right in saying that some of the color footage is from "Call Me Madam". Great how the otherwise unrelated song somehow matches the footage so very well! Thanks for this - so very enjoyable!
Oh my !!! Now I know why we're here....to dance with Donald to the strains of gorgeous Gordon.....we can face the music together....till the tune ends,....(let it never end) !!! :-D
@ClassicDamsel Thank you so much!! As soon as I heard the song, I pictured the clips--don't Gordon and Donald make a great team? ;)) I'm so glad you enjoyed it--thank you so much for your wonderful comments, my friend!!
I'm a late subscriber, but very grateful for your channel. Thank you for sharing and preserving a dance legend, Donald O'Connor. He was, in my opinion, The very best of the best. There's virtually nothing he couldn't do, or did for that matter. It's criminal he wasn't recognized for a lifetime achievement award. But in our hearts and minds, he was pure poetry in motion. Thank you again!
this is wonderful. gordon macrae is always good to hear. also, i always thoight donald oconnor equal to fred astaire and gene kelly. thanks heather. also the song is an old favorite.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Ruth! I feel the same about Donald O'Connor, he's sadly underrated. Thanks so much for watching and commenting, have a wonderful day!
@nipstertunes I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Jim--I hope it brightened your day!! I thought it was a great version of the song, too, and it just begged for some Donald clips. Thanks so much for the "bravo"--you've made my day!!! :))
Gordon MacRae sings this song as if he is telling a woman how very much he loves her! I don't know how he does it, but he sings just every song this way! Love, Liz
What a brilliant idea! I love the way you paired those clips with the song (and a great song it is at that!), not to mention the clips themselves. An excellent job, my friend! Thank you for putting this together and sharing it with us. :)
My turn to give You a Big BRAVO, Heather!! A beautiful version of a Great song and Mr. O'Connor dancing with all his Lovely Ladies! How could it get any better? It Can't! Thank You so much for a true "Day Brightener"!! Jim
Thank you very much! Yes, the clips with Vera-Ellen are from "Call Me Madam," one of my favorite Donald O'Connor movies. Thank you so much for your kind comments!
back in '96 i wanted ice cream---went to the baskin robbins on harbor blvd in costa mesa---saw 'goat hill records' across the street--this was one of the albums i bought---the one after this-same band different singer--is dakota staton's 'the late late show'
Best version I have ever heard, but switching to a soft falsetto rather than closing forte with his extraordinary baritone was a mistake. One that another immortal baritone never made, Jim Reeves. Only tenors sound good in falsetto, and then only when used sparingly. Basically, females sound FAR better, particularly as utilized in background choir arrangements, such as many of Johnny Mathis' most splendid recordings.
OH SO BEAUTIFUL! I didn't want the song to end!
GORGEOUS......Thank you for posting this delightful share.
So sweet and tender, his voice is flawless and such a lovely tone to listen to
The very Best!!! So tired of hearing on XM Radio "Sinatra the greatest voice of all time"
So So not true, not even close

This was a 'Mystery voice' on Angel Radio. I thought it was Val Doonican!
that is this is T-937 and that is T938....
