Mien and Hmong are completely differently. The only thing we have in common is that we don’t have a country and so most Iu Mien people fought next to us back in Lao. Mien and Hmong use similar words because we got it from Laos. Mien is more like Chinese. Their writing are in Chinese and the way they do ceremony is like Chinese not like Hmong. But in todays world, Iu mien and Hmong are closer then any other Asian culture. There are small little things that mien people use or do that Hmong people use or do too but we are completely different from each other. If that make sense lol. I’m Hmong but raised around mien people my whole life.
