I feel like the most simple answer would be that Grindelwald was lying about Credence being Aurelius Dumbledore. Percival Dumbledore died in Azkaban and Kendra Dumbledore died in 1899 after Ariana killed her, so there’s no way for another Dumbledore to be born that could be Credence’s age (I’m assuming late teens/early 20s) in 1927. While Grindelwald lying would be the most simple, Ariana’s Obscurus residing in Credence would be the most interesting and J.K. Rowling-like answer in my opinion.
But if he wasn't a Dumbledore he couldn't have the Pheonix. I think he is a Dumbledore but Grindelwald made up the part about him being Albus' brother so that he might hate him for it. I think it's part of his plan to get credence to kill Albus because he didn't help him even though he didn't know about him. He is probably a cousin or maybe Aberforths son just not a brother to Albus
@Ryan Ward Grindelwald could have a Phoenix. Maybe he bought it. He just says that a Phoenix will help a Dumbledore in distress. I think he's playing with Creedence. Grindelwald thought Creedence was a squib in the first movie, and he knows that that hurted him a lot, so this time he plays the nice guy that says to Creedence that he belongs to a very well known wealthy family and is the brother of the BEST WIZARD OF THE TIME. He's saying just what Creedence wants to hear. Gives him a golden name (Aurelius), and gives him a wand. A dream for Creedence.
@@IvyHilts Also Grndelwald came to Credence right after we saw him caring for the phoenix. I think Grindelwald is lying and manipulating like we've scene him do before. Also he had no idea Credence was the obscurus in the first place so how could he possibly know his ancestry? I wish we could just ask Queenie since she can read minds lol
Sure but I don't get why that matters after you've seen the movie, lol. It's like... Idk operation Basalt... or something. It's a code name. Yeah it doesn't deliver what the title promised but you already know that now that you've seen the second film. Newt is still in there with sprinkled interesting new beasts. Be happy that it has a story. Besides, they're not just gonna change the name now. What the fuck did you expect, Pokemon?
@@althealligator1467 I was looking forward to more stories about Newt because I loved his character and the expansion of the HP universe with the magical creatures. If they wanted to make a story about Dumbledore and Grindlewald, they should have just made those movies instead of hijacking a perfectly good series.
@@professorthread Yeah, but a movie needs a plot. The beasts are still there and they all get a good showcase. Again, this isn't a documentary (even though I would love the book written by Newt, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, to be made into a full fledged documentary) or Pokemon, it needs a plot. It's had it since the start, there's been no hijacking. I mean, they might make that documentary idea, it's possible, there's nothing to complain about.
Grindelwald is lying. The parents were dead before Credence were born. The other obvious reason is because Grindelwald is in a way much more dangerous than Voldemort. He has a silver tongue. He uses your own weaknesses to his advantages. With Queenie he saw an opportunity to sway her to his side by saying she should be able to love freely, which Dumbledore even said to the minister that their strict laws are sending people right into Grindelwald's path. Every single moment that Grindelwald says something to his followers or before they follow him, is a lie, and it's all been using them for his own good. He even tells the auror (forgot his name) that kills the nanny "missing Credence" that its for the greater good and that he will be remembered in history. If that doesn't explain to people that this guy says what people want to hear and fabricates a string of lies... Then I don't know how clearer you can get without saying "this guy lies don't believe him". Credence was told he is Dumbledore's brother which will fuel him to be angry to the family that left him alone.... And will therefore try to kill Dumbledore in revenge. It's the only way Grindelwald can beat Dumbledore. And Queenie was the opportune moment to bring a telepath to his side (forgot what that's called) and be able to read credence like a book and play him. The phoenix part is a red herring.
@@ellasam9008 Qeenie isn't normal legiliment. You know this by comparing how Qeenie operates and what Snape told Harry about "mind reading" in sixth book.
grindelwald is a master manipulator, look at what they did in that jail, they took out his tongue, all the ministry had to do is silence him again and he wouldn't have been able to talk to anyone.
Agreed and the Phoenix is fake It is said that a Phoenix appears when a Dumbledore needs help. That bird didn’t appear to Credence he found it and then Grindelwald transformed it. It never came to Credence
That's a great joke (I genuinely mean it, no sarcasm) but that actually COULD be a cool story. Think about this: What did Voldemort want the Philosopher's Stone for in Philosopher's Stone? To create a human body for himself. Its two properties are that it creates the elixir of life and can turn any metal to gold. Dumbledore and Grindelwald could actually have wanted to create a child, knowing that Dumbledore met Nicolas Flamel whilst he was still at Hogwarts. Then for some reason, they had to ship it off to the US with a wizarding family such as the Lestranges, or perhaps on a boat with an amazing safe reputation, like the "Unsinkable Ship," the Titanic (possibly). Credence's name is Aurelius Dumbledore, AURelius, gold. I mean I would genuinely enjoy that, and so would you. That was an altered version of my theory that goes that Dumbledore turned his sister Ariana's Oscurus into a human baby with the help of Nicolas Flamel, to maybe try to save her or revive her or something, then shipped him off to the US. Credence is also referred to "a dark twin." Both theories are just awesome and I would really like to see it.
Now that Queenie has switched sides, I predict she’ll marry a pure blood wizard with the last name Prince and she’ll end up being Snape’s grandmother. That would explain why he’s so gifted with blocking his thoughts.
Eileen Prince got born in 1929....it is barely possible. I would have loved it though, but there is a American Quidditch player with the surname of Kowalski...named Quentin Kowalski...born in 1976 in the USA. The USA also allows muggle-marriage from 1965 onwards. So the theory is that Jacob and Queenie move to Europe, and later move back to the USA with their kids. And btw, I don't have to explain the fact that Quentin sounds like Queenie, haha.
I like how Grindelwald (pretending to be Graves) thought the little girl was the obscurial in the first film, and wasn't interested in Credence at all and suddenly now he somehow knows Credence's secret identity.
There is no reason for Credence being a Dumbledore. The fact that a phoenix came to Credence can also be explained by what happened in the "Chamber of Secrets": Fawkes came to Harry Potter because he showed Albus true loyalty. In this case, the blood pact between Albus and Grindelwald can explain why this phoenix is helping Grindelwald. So the phoenix is appearing for Grindelwald, and not Credence, who just happens to stand next to him. But I guess we will only find out after the blood pact is broken.
Except the fact that the pheonix is actually dumbledore family legends and appear way before gellert meet credence.dumbledore is the one who send fawkes to harry
I thought it was interesting Grindlewald was expecting a girl as the obscurial and he was surprised that it ended up being a boy. I think Aurelius=Ariana makes more sense than a fourth Dumbledore sibling, but I'm sure there's more to the story than what we've seen so far
Yes that's weird how Grindewald thought it was the girl Modesty(?). Probably Credence was just Credence when he was on the ship. Probably of a magic family as Grindlewald/Graves told him that he is a squib. Then somehow Grindlewald brought the Ariana obscurial to implant into an someone he found disposable and she chose him in the orphanage. Then Grindlewald was trying to locate her in the FB1. But how did Grindlewald came up with the name Aurelius, maybe its from some family tree with all descendents name spelled out. Just guessing.
Well it could either be because of Ariana, he knew of her and her obscurial. Or because of the fact that Credence had a “sister”, and she’s a kid. So he was thinking she was the obscurist because she’s a kid still and obviously they don’t live up to adult hood so he wasn’t expecting Credence to have the obscurial. Idk I could be wrong.
There is also the overlooked description given to obscurus earlier in the movie. They are described specifically as a "Dark twin" of their host. Seems like the obscurus in Credence is the person Grindelwald is truly talking to in the end.
I hope Credence isn't their real brother, that would be too weird an addition to the canon. I hope we are just being misled. If he actually is his real brother, I hope he’s a half-brother, BUT EITHER WAY THIS MAKES NO SENSE.
@@c0ronariu5 it may not be true, but it certainly does make sense. Dumbledore's family is the only one in which we have evidence of all three siblings having similar magical capabilities.
If he is than that doesn't make sense because Albus's parents were dead before he was like 18 and credence was in his late teens to very early 20s in 1927 and I'm pretty Albus was born in 1881 so yeah he can't be brother or even half brother
I agree with "Let Me Explain" that Credence is not a member of the Dumbledore family, but he is carrying Ariana's obscurus for some reason. The obscurus was called something like a dark twin by JKR. This implies that it is sentient to a certain degree. Grindelwald may have been talking to the obscurus, when he said " your brother seeks to destroy you".Which immediately sends the obscurus onto a rampage btw. Since Grindelwald was present when Ariana died, he might've enclosed her obscurus in a bubble - just like the one in Newt's magical suitcase. Maybe, the fight between Albus, Aberforth and Gellert Grindelwald which accidentally killed Ariana,, ensued over the attempt to extract Ariana's obscurus. Grindelwald may then have engaged in dark experiments with the goal to transplant the obscurus into another host, whom he could eventually control . Maybe, he used orphans for his experiments. In FB1 he wasn't even sure who of Mary Lou's adopted children was carrying the obscurus, and he learned only later that it is Credence. Grindelwald may have been the Joseph Mengele of the Potter-verse. That theory fits all the known facts, and we don't have the soap opera story of a long lost brother which would only work after major timeline corrections. The phoenix, who allegedly gravitates towards members of the Dumbledore family, may have been attracted by the obscurus because he/it originated in Ariana Dumbledore. If it is like a dark twin, he might count as a Dumbledore. Grindelwald may have made up the name "Aurelius Dumbledore" because it's a credible name for a Dumbledore sibling. Actually, he almost ceremoniously baptises Credence with his new name by giving him a wand. All this might sound outlandish, but is it really more outlandish than the concept of horcruxes? ☺
@@h002aniruthi9 thanks a lot. It could work - but we have not the foggiest idea if JKR has really constructed it that way. I just came across another idea with a completely different take, which makes some sense as well, lol!
@@TheMarkmcr true. And I really wonder what that scene with Newt's obscurus in a bubble was all about. If anything, it established that an obscurus can be extracted and kept alive outside of the original body. But who knows if that theory is correct.. I just heard another, very different one, which is also plausible, lol!
Nicole Jennings same! For some reason I thought it was gonna be a trilogy. I wonder where it’s gonna end though. With dumbledore being headmaster? Or with Tom Riddle arc starting. I NEED TO KNOW
I'm confused as well but I do remember JK Rowling said in one video that "whatever you see at the end of this film, might not be the case" so I guess Grindy is lying again to Credence to manipulate him. Remember, it was said in the movie that Albus was the only one who could be a threat to Grindy's plans and his only equal! I guess Grindy is doing whatever he can to manipulate Credence to fight Albus and defeat him since he too can't go against him.
Does it bother anyone else that in the latest movie all the wizards wear muggle clothes. Like, they didnt even try with the wizard robes, just all suites and ties.
THUND3R 1315 when they did the flashback at hogwarts, 😂😂 but no it's America it's a different fashion statement. You can tell by the small details, like; color scheme, hats, the pop collars and etc.
I feel like Credence isn’t a Dumbledore, and Grindelwald is lying to him since he has a blood pact with Albus, so they can’t fight each other. But if Grindelwald convinces Credence that is his a Dumbledore and maybe that Albus knew and he can make Credence feel that his “family” hates him or doesn’t want him and can harness Credence’s dark force as a weapon to potentially attack Albus and the whole Magical Congress and Council. But I mean who knows with JK Rowling... 🤷🏻♀️
I don't get why LME brushes this theory off as a joke, it would make sense Grindelwald wants a weapon to defeat Dumbledore so he looks for the most powerful thing he can use, while Dumbledore needs a weapon to defeat Grindelwald so he picks Newt due to his honest nature (meaning it would be hard to be manipulated by Grindelwald) to me that's both characters acting as they should do
@@jamilajoseph2632 that implies that it was a Phoenix and not another trick, i mean how would Credence even know if it was a real phoenix or not (he had been a wizard for a whole 1 minute by this point), and legend states when a Dumbledore asks for a phoenix it will come, Credence didnt ask for anything but just reacted to whatever Grindelwald is telling him, remember Grindelwald already had Credence mind read by Queenie, he would know how to manipulate Credence rather well
Here's my problem with Credence as Albus' (and Aberforth's and Arianna's) brother. Why was he not mentioned in the Harry Potter books? At all?? Why wasn't he in Rita Skeeter's biography of Dumbledore? That, of all things, should have been JUICY gossip! Ooooh. Just had a thought. Is Aberforth going to be in any of the Fantastic Beast movies??
Nope. she finished the writing of the fives movies . She write theme like they was only ONE HP book, one film= one chapter. The second film is the chapter where the questions arrives, where we have to ask ourselves how it is possible. And for me Credence and Ariana are the same person. I don t want to explain why, i have done it on 10 videos comments, but it can be explain all , and elements for the first movie.
They already retconned McGonagall. She was born in 1935 godamnit. She was not a professor in 1927 and definitely not when Newt was in school. Argh come on JKR remember your own stories.

The McGonagall thing... Not only was she in Hogwarts teaching Newt and Leta for no plot related reasons, she jinxed a student. That was sooo out of character. Also chasing Leta and screaming about points. If she doesn't mind jinxing students, why not do that instead of losing all credibility by behaving like an idiot? I know she is supposed to be younger, but that was too much.

Dynamic Dissonance idk man it seems that jk rowling no longer cares too much about her characters and how they were portrayed in the books and how we, the audience, viewed them. @@aang7505 I think her political site is retarded aswell - its sad that some of that stuff gets pushed over into her story. However - in this case I dont see an relevant issue about that. I have the nostalgia glasses on while watching this new saga of the wizarding world and I'm loving it. I love the characters, the settings and the story; it's pretty cool in my opinion I'm actually not sure why people are getting so mad at these movies. There was a lot of rumours before the movie came out that Dumbledore's affection for Grindlewald was not going to be shown; I'm not sure where anyone got this information because it is very clear this is not the case. People used this against JK about the Dumbledore being gay situation after the series finished because it seemed so left field when in my opinion it was quite obvious how he talked about Grindlewald in the books, Harry is not the best at connecting the dots and Dumbledore would definitely be a very secretive person about such personal details. No one would flat out say to a current student that they were infatuated with someone especially Dumbledore with how many secrets he kept from Harry. He however said it a lot more bluntly to Newt who is an adult but did not right out say "he loved him" in a very Dumbledore fashion. I hope this makes sense and someone can agree with me.
Actually I enjoyed the movie very much and am not going to judge anything until all the films are out. I do enjoy the theories people are throwing out :)
I agree with you. Also, that one particular flashback scene in the movie feels romantic to me. I'd take that over anything overly-physical. Sadly, some people just doesn't count anything less than outright kissing romantic.
Kiana The Avatar yeah I always felt like there were hints in the Potter series that Dumbledore and Grindlewald were attracted to one and another, but it’s no surprise that someone like Dumbledore wouldn’t wear a rainbow hat and shout from the rooftop what his favorite sex position with Grindlewald is. I don’t know why people would expect that? It seems very normal - especially for the time the FB movies are set in - not to tell random strangers that you are gay.
I reckon Credence is Alberforth's son. He's a Dumbledore, but not Albus' brother. It fits the best. No one knows where Alberforth went after the fight, he could have gone to America met a No Maj, and so on and so forth.
Manu Delpech but Ariana died in 1899, credence was born 1907 I know that in some rare occasions the obscurial can survive without a hostess but like?? (Sry for possible spelling mistakes)

@shadonic565 You are being so hostile over a movie series. Its a PREQUEL and there are still movies that need to be made. You can't say it doesn't line up when there are 3 more stories before it picks back up at the beginning of the Harry Potter series.
Lyn Wyvern McGonagall wasn’t born in the era that this film was set in, nor did dumbledore EVER teach defence against the dark arts and that’s canon, it’s literally said in the books. so i had an epiphany about Ariana. that blood vow Albus and Gellert made... they vowed to never fight each other and yet Ariana died in their crossfire. my theory is, their spelled deflected because of their vow and that's how Ariana got hit. that's why Gellert keeps the necklace, not because he 'luuuvs' Albus, but because he cared about Ariana and was genuinely sad when she died and, if Your theory is true about Ariana's Obscurial in Credence, that's why he cares about Credence too. because of Ariana
@@allusio88 well, I guess it only makes sense that the did it before her death, because of the following two reasons : 1. It's said in DH that Grindelwald fled right after Arianas death, not staying for the funeral. Maybe he didn't even say goodbye to Dumbledore, we don't know that. 2. Considering what we know from HbP and DH, the fight Dumbledore and Grindelwald had was huge. So huge that it made Dumbledore realize what kind of a person his friend truly was. I mean, from what we know, he threatened to kill Aberforth. So, in no way would Dumbledore agree to a blood pact after their fight which ultimately led to the death of Ariana.
@@Persia31012 Thank you for the answer. Somehow I thought that maybe because their fight caused death of someone's important for both of them, they did vow.

I think theory 3 is the most believable. I think Grindelwald is manipulating Credence, because as he says earlier in the movie, he needs the boy to go after Dumbledore. WHY? Same reason Dumbledore sent Newt in his stead, because of their blood bind spell, swearing not to battle against each other. Why would Credence go after Dumbledore, other than to get answers. Also, you do have to consider how Grindlewald knows this for sure? The people on the boat, Leta herself, admitted she didn't know the family that she switched babies with was, so how would he? The only answer is that he is manipulating Credence and because he is so desperate to fit, to belong, to have a family, he is willing to hold onto it...I hope that the next movie comes out sooner rather than later and I hope we get to see more of Hogwarts. She just left so many open ended questions I am just so thrilled to see what happens next.
Grindelwald would be pissed once he found out the blood pact is gone and wouldn't need Credence anymore, once Dumbledore destroyed the blood pact, all Grindelwald's work is for nothing. And we all know they will fight eventually, that's how Dumbledore got the elder wand.
Or the Ministry could have had the fact since if the info got out other prisoners would be encouraged to escape and have hope to escape! If would have the public loose faith in the un-escapable prison of Askaban.
I don't think the uploader mentioned breaking out. He said Percival might have had conjugal visits while in Azkaban. That would mean that he would have been allowed to have sex with his wife while there. That's all. (I'm not sure if the uploader is suggesting a second wife or not, though.)
So, to me the most interesting part of the movie was the scene with Nicolas Flamel looking at the prophecy crystal ball and then having a conversation with a photo of a lady in a book. I was not really paying attention at that book, but went through the credits and think the woman is a professor from Ilvermorny. Rowling had said that she would play a greater role in the 3rd movie or so. But if I understand it correctly it would mean that there is a powerful seer in America who has connections to Nicolas Flamel and therefore also to Dumbledore who specifically focused her attention on Grindelwald and a lot of loose ends might get tied through that, maybe even how Grindelwald went to the US in the first place to search for an Obscurus, and maybe also things about Credence.
That part was so underwhelming though... Because 1) we see this amazing character who we know and we're thinking "okay something awesome is about to happen" 2) this girl tells him he better get to the cemetery because only he can help them only to have him there telling people to stick their wands in the ground and extinguish some blue flame dragon? I mean we even see the stone and nothing special happens. It's just so anticlimactic.

I loved the movie. Gellert Grindelwald plan is so clear, he can't go after Dumbledore because of the blood oath but he can't send a simple hitman or his followers might think he was stupid to make a blood oath to begin with ( in 1927 having Dumbledore as an ex might not be accepted) so to keep face he says Dumbledore is to powerful ( an this time I don't believe Dumbledore could take him in a fight with the elder wand) and now he has to trick Credence to do it and hope Dumbledore wouldn't be willing to kill a innocent even to defend himself.
Could be, but Grindelwald wouldn't attack him. Dumbledore is at Hogwarts! Grindelwald would lose followers if, or more accurately, when the obscurial hurt or killed a school kid, because I am assuming that some of his Followers had school-age children. His whole campaign is only killing when absolutely necessary for the greater good. For example, Narcissa betrayed You - Know -Who after he told Lucius, in short, he didn't give a flick of a rats tail if Draco was dead because Draco didn't join Voldemort like the rest of the Slytherins. He also set her son up to die when he would fail at killing Dumbledore, so Narcissa's views changed because He endangered her son and he didn't care at all.

It should have been her daughter , the way her mother was treated should have been enough to turn to the dark side despite the fact that her mother resisted the dark side.( That would have made more sense ) I can't imagine someone with a blood curse living that long , anything to do with blood and magic in the Harry Potter world never ends in a long life . Which is why Voldemort and his followers stayed away from it .
People who are really obsessed with the Harry Potter world have strong criticisms towards the movies because first, in the original series, the movies (mostly the ones David Yates directed) changed too much of the plot, created plot holes that didn't exist in the books, and added senseless scenes, characters devoid of motivation, things that wouldn't have happened based on all we know about these characters and this world, etc. The second reason is because we, who love the series and the potterverse NOT ONLY because of the story and the plot but because of the work of genius that is the original 7 books, in which Jo created a world so magically perfect and cohesive, are mad at all the damn plot holes. Even then, I wouldn't say I hate it - I was just severely disappointed.
I just looked up Dumbledore family , Albus have a aunt name honoria, so maybe credence is actually her son, but grindewald is lying to him to make it easier manipulate him. I think grindewald could be lying.
This revelation of Credence's family is like the opposite of Rey's in Last Jedi. Both are the 2nd in a series and are much darker and some people hate it and some people like it, etc. And both are in the same universes of their originals but everyone is still wondering if its better or not XD But with Rey, most people were thinking she was important, but then the villain told her she's not. But, he could be lying. With Credence, we thought he didn't matter at all, but it turns out he does, but we also don't know if the villain, who told him, is lying or not... So yeah... I thought that was interesting XD
@@sigururf6534 magic ? On the real though? Grindelwald is literally one of the most powerful wizards of the Era. Couple that with the fact that he is a master manipulator? It could be some illusion. I'm taking everything with a whole bag of salt
i loved the movie and cant wait to find out how it all works together. There is a high probability that Grindelwald is lying or only knows half of the truth to begin with .. Grindelwald only knows what Dumbledore told him.. Perhaps Ariana had a child, it was common for people to hide teenage births and impossible for the mother to watch her every second.. Could she have blown her mother up in childbirth? Would Dumbledore admit to even a close lover that his teenage sister had a baby? Truthfully i dont think we'll know until JK wants us to know .. But .. I cant wait to find out :D. Im ok with not knowing for now. If nothing else, JK is pretty meticulous about tying things together. I dont think we will be disappointed.. and did no one else see the tiny bit of obscurus that escaped at the end of the last movie?
Ok, I have a theory here. I do think that Credence is actually Aurelius Dumbledore. That’s an incredibly specific name and I don’t think it was made up by Grindelwald. I do not think, however, that Albus is Aurelius’ brother. It makes no sense. The timeline just doesn’t add up and never will. I think this is more likely a half truth told by Grindelwald to coerce Aurelius to his side. I believe that Percival Dumbledore had a brother and that this fact was unknown to Albus and the rest of the Wizarding World. Aurelius is Albus’ *cousin* .
Grindelwald never says that Aurelius is Albus' brother. Everyone just assumes this to be the case because the film cuts to Albus and Newt when Grindelwald talks about Aurelius' brother. The film makers employed a clever technique of perceptual manipulation to make the audience believe that Albus is the brother, but there is absolutely no evidence for this in what Grindelwald actually says.
@@loganrimmer987 so ur saying there is another Dumbledore out there that has left credence all alone and for some reason grendelwald wants to take that guy down
@@erikmartinez8814 maybe the other dumbledore died or got killed by grindlewald himself since he was angry he couldnt take down dumbledore because of the blood pact
I JUST watched this movie at home. :) And I was wondering about that. Didn't 'Grindlewald' conjure up the Phoenix, out of thin air?? Or did it come from 'Credence/Aurelius'?? I cant figure out where it came from. IF Grindlewald conjured it up, then maybe he is just trying to control 'Aurelius/Credence/and maybe even....Aireana if she in in that body to!!! Making 'Credence' think he is a Dumbledore. So Grindleward is trying to control 'them' all three of those people/spirits/entities in one body. That is a massive amount of magic to control.....right??? Did anyone think of that, that there could be 3 'people' in that 1 body?? Anybody think of that....could that be possible?
Marc B. Wouldn’t that be 2 people, one just having 2 names. Would make sense though how he was able to kamehameha the shit out of the mountain from so far lmao
My theory is that Grindelwald lied to Credence about him being a Dumbledore. He knows that Credence is super powerful (at least as an obscurial), and believes that he can pit Credence against Dumbledore to destroy him, because Grindelwald himself can't attack Dumbeldore due to the blood pact they made. I'm probably super wrong but it's not so far fetched, especially considering that all the lore we have about Dumbledore never once hinted at Dumbeldore having another brother. ...unless at one point Percival Dumbledore committed adultery and Credence is Albus and Aberforths half brother. Again, who knows xD just my two cents.
dude...…… I am a hard core Potter fan! this video made me LOL so hard that I had brown stains in my trousers at the end of it. all the memes and music mixing made for a fun and funny informative video and I am now subscribed to see more of what you make. keep up the good work!
DAMN I love your videos! I've thought a lot of the things you said, especially about the obscurus (the person who has the obscurus is an obscurial, btw) being the same one that Ariana had. @@aislinlindsay3950 You're right. I just read Snape's Bio by JK. I thought maybe Queenie changed her name to hide from MACUSA and she moved to Britain because they would accept her relationship with Jacob. I also imagine ( in my mind) She's already pregnant with Jacob's baby and that's why Jacob asked her "when was she going to wake him up, after they had 5 kids." That, to me, was an odd thing to say. WHILE I HAVE YOU...who actually defeated Grindelwald in the subway in NY? Was it Newt or Tina? Because the rightful owner of the Elder wand is the one who defeated it's previous owner. I literally made an account just for the sake of leaving this comment, so listen: I can't find what the exact "brother" line you're referring to is, but I think you mean the part where Grindlewald says to Credence something to the effect of "Even your own brother was trying to kill you." Couldn't Grindlewald be referring to Yusuf Kama, who believed Credence to be his brother which is the reason he's been trying to kill him the whole movie?
That is how I took it. Albus wasn't trying to have him killed. Also, can I point out one tiny thing.... How the heck does Credence even know who the f*** the Dumbledore's are? He is extremely new the wizarding world.
Actually, after that he kinda says "your name is Aurelius Dumbledore" and then Credence does that exploding spell (I dont know which spell he actually used" but that's where the movie ended..
Thank you for giving an unbiased review of this movie. People have been in there feelings about every little detail in this movie. A movie is a movie and enjoy it!
It does made me scratch my head when Grindelwald called Credence "Aurelius Dumbledore" towards the end of the movie! Loving your theories by the way! :)
Many people are confused right now but all of you will understand the story and how it will connect to the Harry Potter series when you all saw the whole story of Fantastic Beasts series.
But if it's Arianas obscurial ,then did Grindelwald just come up with the name Aurelios? And how does he know it's her obscurial, if he didn't even know Creedance was the obscurial in the first film?
I can def get behind the obscurious being passed on. As I was watching the video I kept thinking how can a phoenix recognize a dumbledore from a normal human. And I think it's the magic of the bloodline. Makes sense? In essence this is how the sorting hat sorts witches and wizards. Not by who they are by name, but by what they're capable of! Or even how the Gryffindor sword presents itself to a worthy Griffyndor. But it is interesting to think about how Grindelwald went from not knowing Credence to knowing everything about him. For someone who knows the family so much, I'm sure he pondered it over and over. The fact that he labeled him Aurelius was because he confirmed that this was Ariana's obscurial when the Phoenix presented itself to him. I think there's where things are going. He had plans with Albus. But since things went south, he got the next best thing. A power source that belongs to their bloodline!
Wait how do you know the ending? For me the crimes of grinderwald comes out TOMORROW. Are you a time traveler? Oh and I don’t wanna get spoiled so I’m gonna watch this after I watch the movie 😊
A lot of movies are going this way. Whenever a major franchise movie comes out that you want to see, look for tickets online for the day before the official opening, because chances are, that’s when it really opens.
I am banking on the Ariana obscurus theory but don't know if her death and his birth line up to make this possible. In order to bridge the time gap I have come up with three ideas:1) Perhaps the obscurus is so powerful it lived without a host for a period of time.2) It was trapped in an object and held in stasis for a period of time and was received after Credence was born.3) Perhaps it has switched hosts more than once and Credence is just the most recent in a line of hosts that the obsurus has inhabited and destroyed. Remember that Credence was on a ship full of people that all died at the same time. If one of these people was the current host of the obscurus it would need to find a new host and this is how if found Credence.Perhaps sudden release of the obscurus's powers somewhere on the ship was the reason it sank in the first place. It is a magic universe so really anything is possible.
There's a lot possibilities about who Credence is, and there's 3 more movies, so it's not really bother me. WHAT BUGGED ME IS... PROF. MCGONAGALL. Harry potter wiki said she's born in 1935 (some version said 1925), yet she's there, teaching, when Leta & Newt still a students.. so it's probably less than 1927 where the movie took place. I tried to think logically, like, maybe it's her mother, or grandmother or something.. But her mother lived half of her life with her muggle husband (he doesn't even knew that she's a witch until they had children and apparently she's stayed-at-home kind of mother), so, not a teacher. Minerva's grandmother from her father? C'mon, she's probably a muggle too. And i never read other member of her family ever teaching at hogwarts. HOW IS THIS HAPPEN.
@Robert Blaster Minerva McGonagall is indeed worked in the Ministry, but, dissatisfied with her job, quits and sends a letter to Hogwarts to apply. Accepted as Transfiguration teacher in December 1956 (Replacing Prof. Dumbledore) Aaaand she was born in 4th October 1935. Idc if she's teaching Tom Riddle & James Potter or not, the most important is she shouldn't exist in Newt's era!
Ive read about another theory that’s not so far off: When Ariana was killed in the face-off between Dumbledore his brother and Grindelwald, Ariana’s obscurus survived and latched onto a baby living in Godric’s Hollow that turned out to be Credence. That way, the part of Credence that’s related to Dumbledore is the obscurus, not him directly since he is the son of two random wizards that lived in Godric’s Hollow (Much like Ray’s backstory in the new Star Wars movies). This explains the magnitude of the power of Credence’s Obscurial (since it is ancient, much older than Credence having lived in 2 hosts) and the connection to the Dumbledore family lineage. This means that at the end of FB:TCGD Grindelwald is talking to the obscurus living inside credence (since it is an entity that takes control over him and has its own mind) pushing it to lash out against dumbledore with the rage of Ariana. But hey, that’s just a theory! 🧐
Well that's why it sucks so much, because all the damn plot holes in this movie leave us feeling this isn't like her at all. She's much better than this.
The host theory makes the most sense to me. It would partially explain why Grindelwald thought that the obscurial was in the little girl and not Credence in the first film.
@@rubalasuresh04 yeah I don't accept the cursed child as canon even tho jo said it is but it's more like and bunch of fan fiction thrown together and the characters are really off. True, one of the things I was most looking forward to in the movie was Hogwarts. There was a lot in this movie that was messing with Harry potter which I have to say I'm quite disappointed in 😕
I was surprised from Cursed Child when I initially read it, but on stage it is SPECTACULAR. You must understand that it is an entirely different medium than literature and film are. I was skeptical at first, but I sat outside in London waiting for buyback tickets, and it is WELL WORTH IT. That is not something you can get from the script alone. No play is simply meant to be read.
Is nobody going to talk about how intelligent JK Rowling is? When she wrote the Harry Potter books decades ago, she purposely chose the name 'naagin' for Voldemort's snake. In Indian mythology, 'naagin' refers to a shape shifting snake which can turn into a woman. That means that JK Rowling had already planned all this while she was writing Harry Potter.
Remember in the movie though they speak of a prophecy from the book of poems. In it it talks about a “son cruelly banished” and a “daughter of despair”. My sister’s theory is that Ariana had a twin brother who they thought was possibly an obscurist and sent him to America and kept Ariana. However they both ended up being obscurists but somehow credence is able to control his better. This theory would explain why Albus didn’t know of the lost brother as they could’ve sent the son away right after she gave birth. Idk it’s just a theory but I think the prophecy in the movie applies to the Dumbledore family.
I think that some part of the solution is in the name "aurelius". Remember that like two years ago - while writing fantastic beasts, presumably - JK put somewhere on her website a picture of a book about Marcus Aurelius? Marcus was (part of) his real name, but Aurelius was the name he got when he was adopted (his real family name was Severus by the way, lol)
Tom Riddle, Senior, the muggle? A.K.A. Credence, Voldemort's father. Tom Riddle was born in the 1920's, and Nagini was the only thing Voldemort ever really cared about... because she was his mother. But, that's just a theory.
Had this theory until I looked at timelines. Newt went to America in 1926 which is the year Tom Riddle was born so Credence didn't know Nagini yet. Would've been a cool twist though! I just think he used his charm and persuasion on her/his horcrux turned her into the evil snake we know where she's kind and vulnerable in this film. It's sad cause he only cares for her since his immortality is linked to her (hopefully that is all revealed in upcoming films!)
@@IvyHilts fair enough but I think one thing is absolutely certain is that he was lying when he said he was Albus' brother
@@ryanward5770 No doubt about it! That's cheap and don't fit with the story. He can't be a brother. I don't think he is family at all.
@@IvyHilts Also Grndelwald came to Credence right after we saw him caring for the phoenix. I think Grindelwald is lying and manipulating like we've scene him do before.
The phoenix part is a red herring.

your comment makes this movie make sense now. I just finished this movie and the entire plot just seemed like an elaborate "troll" of sorts.
Agreed and the Phoenix is fake
It is said that a Phoenix appears when a Dumbledore needs help. That bird didn’t appear to Credence he found it and then Grindelwald transformed it. It never came to Credence
Credence is secretly Just Dumbledore and Grindelwald’s child
That's a great joke (I genuinely mean it, no sarcasm) but that actually COULD be a cool story. Think about this:
What did Voldemort want the Philosopher's Stone for in Philosopher's Stone?
Yip definitely!!!
Yes
The best theory I have read about all of this really)
I'd start crying in the cinema if this happened, of confusion, I don't know..
Now that Queenie has switched sides, I predict she’ll marry a pure blood wizard with the last name Prince and she’ll end up being Snape’s grandmother. That would explain why he’s so gifted with blocking his thoughts.
Snape’s mother is Eileen Prince, she marries Tobias Snape, a muggle and Snape’s father.
Karen Uthaug yes. I believe that Queenie is Eileen’s mother.
Claire Futrell I thought she was Luna Lovegood’s great great aunt?
Eileen Prince got born in 1929....it is barely possible.
I would have loved it though, but there is a American Quidditch player with the surname of Kowalski...named Quentin Kowalski...born in 1976 in the USA.
The USA also allows muggle-marriage from 1965 onwards.
So the theory is that Jacob and Queenie move to Europe, and later move back to the USA with their kids.
And btw, I don't have to explain the fact that Quentin sounds like Queenie, haha.
QUEENIE MARIE'S JACOB IN THE END AND SO NEWT WITH TINA WE ALL KNOW THAT

@Marianne that's not what I meant. I meant that the phoenix is loyal to Grindelwald, because of the blood pact.
Hes a Dumbledore because he's albus's dark twin watch the supercarlinbrothers video about it
Except the fact that the pheonix is actually dumbledore family legends and appear way before gellert meet credence.dumbledore is the one who send fawkes to harry
Finally some good theory that fit ending of movie
I like this theory!!
The boy is a transgender ;)
I didn't find it all that strange that he thought it was the girl because obscurials are almost never known to live into adulthood
Bernhardina Hörnstein yeah. The movie was awesome right until the last 30 seconds when I was like RETCON!
@@c0ronariu5 it may not be true, but it certainly does make sense. Dumbledore's family is the only one in which we have evidence of all three siblings having similar magical capabilities.
I figure Grindelwald wants him misled and angry
Bernhardina Hörnstein same, some things shouldn't be messed with this is one of them
If he is than that doesn't make sense because Albus's parents were dead before he was like 18 and credence was in his late teens to very early 20s in 1927 and I'm pretty Albus was born in 1881 so yeah he can't be brother or even half brother
Brilliant!
Newt was even scared about Jacob touching the bubble in the last movie.
Whoa I kindly like this! Good opinion
I don't get why LME brushes this theory off as a joke, it would make sense Grindelwald wants a weapon to defeat Dumbledore so he looks for the most powerful thing he can use, while Dumbledore needs a weapon to defeat Grindelwald so he picks Newt due to his honest nature (meaning it would be hard to be manipulated by Grindelwald) to me that's both characters acting as they should do
If he wasn't a Dumbledore the Phoenix wouldn't have come to him.
But... the Phoenix?
@@jamilajoseph2632 that implies that it was a Phoenix and not another trick, i mean how would Credence even know if it was a real phoenix or not (he had been a wizard for a whole 1 minute by this point), and legend states when a Dumbledore asks for a phoenix it will come, Credence didnt ask for anything but just reacted to whatever Grindelwald is telling him, remember Grindelwald already had Credence mind read by Queenie, he would know how to manipulate Credence rather well
Aurelius could be a distant cousin of Albus'. Grindelwald never mentions the name of Aurelius' brother. Everyone merely assumes it's Albus.

Credence took care of it as a chick thats why
But a Phoenix only comes to a Dumbledore
they never said only a Dumbledore could bond with one tho and this one didn't come to credence he found it and took care of it and was likely staged by Grindelwald for that exact moment

I think Credence/Aurelius is the son of Albus' aunt Honoria...and his cousin...or ( and that is much more likely bc we all know how old Percival was and so his sisters is also old) the grandson of her, which means his mother drowned that night and he will stay a orphan...atleast till they found out who his father was....maybe it also was a child out of wedlock and she had to flee and wanted to start a new live in America...that's my theory...I would make sense, more sense than pulling out a new brother...
Grindelwald said the half-truth...Credence/Aurelius is from Dumbledore blood but not his brother .he just could have said it to turn him against Albus and to fight him since we all know he can't...
also Albus send Newt out to fight against grindelwald....I guess we'll see a fight between Aurelius/Credence and Newt...If you think about it Grindelwald and Albus are both manipulative as hell -.-'

About that ferret Malfoy is a good thing - we might just have seen the beginning of her change in that regard - maybe she was harder and something happend wich lets her react like that later to fudge. Just saying.
I really liked it too. I was expecting they pulled a Last Jedi, but it was nowhere near that crapfest.

Lyn Wyvern McGonagall wasn’t born in the era that this film was set in, nor did dumbledore EVER teach defence against the dark arts and that’s canon, it’s literally said in the books. Rowling and the dreadful writing team are just changing and yes “making stuff up” as in changing the source material just to have the casual fans be like ooh wow I recognise these characters. In turn ruining so much of the lore

@Pako chan chan Agree i enjoy the movie and definitely enjoy the near to the ending part but the middle part and how the story was told is kinda weak could definitely better..
so i had an epiphany about Ariana. that blood vow Albus and Gellert made... they vowed to never fight each other and yet Ariana died in their crossfire. my theory is, their spelled deflected because of their vow and that's how Ariana got hit. that's why Gellert keeps the necklace, not because he 'luuuvs' Albus, but because he cared about Ariana and was genuinely sad when she died and, if Your theory is true about Ariana's Obscurial in Credence, that's why he cares about Credence too. because of Ariana
May I ask, didn't they vow to never fight after Ariana's death?
@@allusio88 well, I guess it only makes sense that the did it before her death, because of the following two reasons :

@@allusio88 you're welcome 🙂
@@allusio88 it had to have happened before, because I don't see Albus doing kinky finger interlocking shit with grindewald if they just killed his sister
Theory 1, doesn’t make sense because Sirius Black was the first to ever break out of Azkaban
Probably a Trelawney ? Or maybe even Cassandra
@@raveenkumar6293 She already has a name. Just forgot it.
That part was so underwhelming though...

Don’t know why everyone hates these movies... I love them!
It's tradition to hate franchise prequels
Blue for Lucaya: Not everyone just butthurt fans.
Everyone doesn't. The movie already made over half a million dollars.
Ikr!
Lol I just finished watching this movie and was so happy to see you had uploaded this! Honestly this movie just equaled a big old WHAT?
I just looked up Dumbledore family , Albus have a aunt name honoria, so maybe credence is actually her son, but grindewald is lying to him to make it easier manipulate him. I think grindewald could be lying.
I see what you did there! Credence Clearwater revival, unfortunate son, etc.
This revelation of Credence's family is like the opposite of Rey's in Last Jedi.
Both are the 2nd in a series and are much darker and some people hate it and some people like it, etc. And both are in the same universes of their originals but everyone is still wondering if its better or not XD
But with Rey, most people were thinking she was important, but then the villain told her she's not. But, he could be lying. With Credence, we thought he didn't matter at all, but it turns out he does, but we also don't know if the villain, who told him, is lying or not... So yeah... I thought that was interesting XD

i loved the movie and cant wait to find out how it all works together. I dont think we will be disappointed.. and did no one else see the tiny bit of obscurus that escaped at the end of the last movie?
no
Ok, I have a theory here.

Grindlewald(spelling?) Could have easily planted it somehow. I'm not sure how though
Credence was just some baby infected with the obscuris of Ariana. Or he is Dumbledore's son.
Grindelwald was in possession of the Elder wand. I’m sure a Phoenix is not a difficult thing for the elder wand.
I just got confused....what da fu-
My theory is that Grindelwald lied to Credence about him being a Dumbledore.
They should make a movie about Snape.
jasson k yesssss!!! And one based on Draco Malfoy’s perspective in the last 2 or 3 movies or just his time a hog warts and being a deatheater
@@user-im1jq3lw2l oof noooo. The fandom loves him but honestly hes rlly annoying
dude...…… I am a hard core Potter fan! this video made me LOL so hard that I had brown stains in my trousers at the end of it. all the memes and music mixing made for a fun and funny informative video and I am now subscribed to see more of what you make. keep up the good work!
DAMN I love your videos! I've thought a lot of the things you said, especially about the obscurus (the person who has the obscurus is an obscurial, btw) being the same one that Ariana had. Personally I love this movie, I was super confused the first time I saw it, but I've seen it 5 times now, and it makes more sense each time I watch it.
Waiting 2 years from now on!!!!!!! I do think it's Ariana 🤔 but it's JK... we won't really know what's happening until she wants us to know
The first one was set in the 1920's soooooo how did McGonagall get here
My theory is that Grindelwald is lying, like he has for the past 2 films.
i wonder how queenie's character will play out considering she's a legilimens.

Is it possible that the Half Blood Prince ( Prof Snape) is the child of Queenie and Jacob Kowalski?
bevy814 no, read up about his upbringing and the fact that he’s British would make no sense
In fantastic beasts 2, Grindlewald has the elder wand but does he really own it! ..Can't wait for the 3rd series/
With the amount of retconning Rowling had been doing, you can already tell that her respect to her work's canon is as real as Santa Clause.
Which I hate - because in the original 7 books, everything just works and fits well together, timelines work, character stories work, there's no plot holes... This is just a mess.
@@liv97497 A mess is putting it lightly. XD
This was utter disjointment. I wonder if she is just making the movies to appeal to the wider audience that wont question stuff like 'why is mgonical at hogwarts, isn't she still technically a little girl'?
The whole thing just reeks of lazyness on her part. She is just riding the coat tales of the original series. Sad really.
I mean cant she just hire a fkn team to make sure that the god damn timeline sticks?
its a 25 billion dollar franchise for fk sakes.
Exactly. She's made it clear what her motivation is
@@liv97497 they're actually a ton of potholes in the original seven books but we forgave them because we were like 14 and that's what you do when you've been reading a book since you were seven.
I literally made an account just for the sake of leaving this comment, so listen: I can't find what the exact "brother" line you're referring to is, but I think you mean the part where Grindlewald says to Credence something to the effect of "Even your own brother was trying to kill you." Couldn't Grindlewald be referring to Yusuf Kama, who believed Credence to be his brother which is the reason he's been trying to kill him the whole movie?
janae towery that’s what I thought too
THANK YOU
That is how I took it.

Fantastic Beasts = a story about origin of Voldemort
Also I can't wait for them Harry Potter LME's!!!
The hedwig remix got me 🤣🤣😘😘😘😘
Wait how do you know the ending? For me the crimes of grinderwald comes out TOMORROW.
Are you a time traveler?
Oh and I don’t wanna get spoiled so I’m gonna watch this after I watch the movie 😊
I have Hermione's Time Turner.
....and an early screening
I saw it on november 14, which was thw premiere in Norway (and many other countries). I think the earliest premiere was november 8th
A lot of movies are going this way. Whenever a major franchise movie comes out that you want to see, look for tickets online for the day before the official opening, because chances are, that’s when it really opens.
Andrea Deagon Thanks, didn't know that
I saw it on november 13th thats when it came out in croatia :D

Why should I be angry with jo because of this. I trust the woman with my life.
just came across your channel, LOVE IT
I am banking on the Ariana obscurus theory but don't know if her death and his birth line up to make this possible.
Time traveling maybe?
@Robert Blaster Minerva McGonagall is indeed worked in the Ministry, but, dissatisfied with her job, quits and sends a letter to Hogwarts to apply.
Accepted as Transfiguration teacher in December 1956 (Replacing Prof. Dumbledore)
Aaaand she was born in 4th October 1935.
Idc if she's teaching Tom Riddle & James Potter or not, the most important is she shouldn't exist in Newt's era!
@@allusio88 Nope. Too ridiculous.
@@fpr47 maybe, who knows, lol.

Part 3 comes out November 20 2020!!!!!!
Very well done video! I just finished watching the movie and was like “what?!” Lol! Thanks... we are all in the same boat, waiting for the next :)
sarthak! you should not be thinking about these film theories! you should be worrying about your studies and your maths! only studies no films!
CAN PPL STOP HATING ON JK ROWLING
SHE WROTE HP LIKE SHE CAME UP WITH THAT. I AM PRETTY SURE SHE HAS SOMETHING BIG UP HER SLEAVE.
Well that's why it sucks so much, because all the damn plot holes in this movie leave us feeling this isn't like her at all. She's much better than this.
I agree with Akishita. She was the creator of the wizarding world, so she definitely knows at least 95% of what she's doing.
This shit is worse than the cursed child. She is just trying to make more money with this, sorry to say.
@@liv97497 Remember when George Lucas got old, and made some prequals?
Just because she did something good in the past doesn't mean everything she does is great. If a bad movie is a bad movie, its a bad movie
Oh yeah more J.K ROWLING! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!😲😲😲😲😲😲😂😂😂
Credence Clearwater Revival!!! LMAO
The host theory makes the most sense to me. It would partially explain why Grindelwald thought that the obscurial was in the little girl and not Credence in the first film.
He seriously made a CCR joke... I love this man
The Phoenix could save Persival from Azkaban - this is more realistic now...
I really hope it's just grindelwald lying to credence to try and get him to turn on dumbledore
But Credence got the Phoenix even before meeting Grinelwald. He has to be a Dumbledore.
@@rubalasuresh04 I know but I feel like if it turns out he isn't lying then they're ruining Harry Potter
@@cara3161 That I understood rite from cursed child... We are all watch the movies just for a glimpse of Hogwarts.. Jk has got us trapped..
That means that JK Rowling had already planned all this while she was writing Harry Potter.
yeah it's me not necessarily, JK Rowling is pretty inventive, but nagini has been thought to be a real woman for a while now
Remember in the movie though they speak of a prophecy from the book of poems.
