Her selection and arrangement of plants in her Ikea cabinets are gorgeous. I love how simplistic, equipment-wise, her cabinets are - no fans, no humidifiers, etc. - and yet her plants still look great and very healthy.

Thank you for the tour Christian! @herplantstories has an amazing collection. I recently enjoyed another spotlight of her collection which was great but this time she was able to share the care of her collection in much more detail and that is the type of content that I truly love 💚
This was fun. Becca has such a beautiful collection. Always nice to hear how folks grow plants in different environments. You should go visit Hakunalaplanta next, since he lives in Toronto! He grows the biggest plants ever!
It is always fun to see how people arrange their plants and how they grow them. Bekka is very knowledgable and has a scientific mind about the plants. I loved her asthetics in organizing the display of plants as well.
Watching your plant blogs and content is amazing! I’ve followed your journey for a few years now and love it, thank you for sharing her plant stories plants. The Pink Princess is amazing!!! 🌸🌸🌸🤗
So happy to see this. I really liked her YT videos but she hasn't posted anything in far too long! So I'm happy to see her here. I love the idea of a traveling show. Keep on keepin on!
This was GREAT! Can’t get enough of this Chic her style the way she style the 2- IKEA cabinets just BEAUTIFUL VERY ELEGANT. My eyes slowly wondered one by one I saw all the plants. I was also WOWED. I enjoyed this video. Thanks Plant guy!
@@CrazyPlantGuy I can tell! And so was mine 😄 By the way, I stopped by your shop last Wednesday but I missed you. I will send you a DM on Instagram with pictures of my precious haul 🤗
She has such a stunning collection!! I’ve loved seeing it on Instagram since I started following a while ago :) I’ve found so many awesome fellow Canadian TH-camrs and I love seeing plants grown in similar climates to me, versus the USA, UK, AUS (although I love creators from everywhere!)
Love this video so much and would love to see more! Her cabinets are pure perfection 🥰 of love to see more planty people featured. How about unplantparenthood (Charmaine) or Alice from you don't even grow where or Hakunalaplanta 💚
Fun field trip! There are a lot of great Canadian plant people, so hopefully they will be open to your visiting their collection. Glad you are back to filming 😊
its always good to see (i never wish ill will) that the struggle is real regardless of the extremes in weather differences. so nice to learn the general information should be interpreted and bespoke to your own home with guidance not a general rule.
Recently came across this persons collection on CBC Marketplace, and despite being an Aussie who randomly found it on youtube, it turned up on your channel too.
Christian I loved this tour and interview so much. The two of you have definitely bonded over the love of plants🪴☺️. Her plants are beautiful, and I love her setup, especially the ikea cabinets🥹. The manjula, wow, I need to put mine on a pole asap. I’m going to follow her on IG, she’s very friendly and so knowledgeable. Thank you so much for this vlog and tour, I can’t wait to see who you interview next🥰
Great collaboration and I love Bekka's plants and she gave some great tips. My only suggestions is Bekka could've used a microphone as she was hard to hear (I had to turn her up, and you down). Just a thought that it would be nice if everyone had microphones. Regardless, a great video. Thanks, Christian.
OMG she is amazing!!! I love that she is in Winnipeg cuz i am literally 2 hours away and get the same demonic weather and navigating that can be so tricky. For example, last winter I STRUGGLED to keep my humidity above 30% and ended up getting a humidifier with a humidistat and then i was able to keep it around 40% which still wasn't ideal but much better. Then this summer my natural humidity went from 30% to 70% and I really should have bought a dehumdifier bc it stayed that way up until this past week, and now its naturally at 50%. I set my humdifier up today just bc i am seeing the natural humidity trending down and my skin is feeling it so I know my plants are!! It is so interesting to hear someone say similar things to my own experiences though. Like all summer I barely needed to water my plants bc they were drinking from the air and now i am having to water a LOT more even though the humidity is still in what's considered a comfortable zone and my plants are still growing. Something that she didn't say she has an issue with but likely would have if she didnt have the cabinets is the warm/cold spots in the house come fall/winter. The chill definitely has impacted some of my plants. My one Maranta was doing great then one day it's leaves curled up and they started to die. I was so shocked bc I hadn't had any issues with it and then I realized that the spot it was in was very chilled (despite the thermometer saying it was warm) and the chill is usually from the damp air getting cold. Google said Marantas curl their leaves when they're too cold. So I have moved it closer to a space heater (the radiator style that keeps air consisitent not the blowy fan style) and I am hoping it will spring back to life for me, but had it been in a cabinet it wouldn't have got the "chilly" damp air. There is so much to look at in this climate bc 20 degrees can feel HOT on a humid summer day, or it can feel very chilly and have you wearing socks and long sleeves etc in the winter and the plants feel the same way we do! Christian, is there an inexpensive fertlizer you recommend? I am thinking of just grabbing miracle gro bc the Dyna grow is like 20 something for the 8 oz bottle and that doesn't go far for 100ish plants. My collection is like 80% alocasia and I use well water. My other plants are aroids and don't seem to be fussy. Thanks!!
haha Demonic weather they sure are, and it can be very tricky navigating through it. But its good that you're adjusting your care as you go through the season. Unfortunately most good fertilizer are expensive, I'm going to try the Growth Technology Foliage Focus for all my aroids. These are like $30 for 8.5 oz or 250 ml.... you do dilute them a bit so it can last pretty good. hope that helps.
@@CrazyPlantGuy I'm have to look! I know it's only been in the states about 6 months, maybe longer since time fly's! I'll keep an eye on your stories so if you find it you'll hopefully let us know 🤣 Thanks Christian!
Love this long segment. By the she means insecticides, insecticidal soaps are fine. They are soaps and generally pests can’t develop resistance to soaps though it’s milder form of mitigation. So I try not to use pesticides as much unless it really calls for it.
I have philos, anthurium, hoya,my secrete is that in pon, have plant above the water line, the roots grow to the water, then they are use to it,I start with 1 ml per 100 MLS,I grow mint with my most pest infested plants, from NZ
She has a few videos that feature her Ikea cabinets, but I don't think she has a complete set up guide, maybe we can ask her to make one ;) @herplantstories
Chunky mix just means your mooting media is airy and well draining. So you can mix things like pumice, perlite, bark, or leca balls (or all of them) into your soil base to make it more chunky and airy.
the only thing i disagree with bekka is that leaves only size up if their are in moss pole here in the philppines you can see almost everywhere golden pothos and epiprenum pinnatums, M. adansonii etc.. climbing on trees and bamboo sticks their leaves are growing humongous as they climb up...
