I have been going back and rewatching your older videos. They are so good. This dozer looks like it needs to be overhauled. The inside is a mess. Thanks for the video.
Thanks , Pal and it's set up like the D5K LGP I herded for a while except the D5 was electric over hydraulic drive and thumbwheel variable speed control. Even had a button to wiggle the blade to shake the mud off. Too many bells and whistles but nice to run. I've run Hi-tracks but am not a big fan of them. I like the conventional drives like the Komatsu just fine. It'd be a blast to get to do some heavy duty rooting with it. Take care and God Bless Yall!
Every single one of your videos makes me darn near soil myself. I love mining, logging, and farming. It's a real shame the mines here in upstate NY closed a couple years before I was born. The whole town still shows all the mine works. Tailings piles that are the largest hills in the area. Even the old shower house is there. Almost half of the homes in town were mine built and all look pretty much the same with that cinder block with a small attempt at a decorative bulge on the flat side. They built our library, football field (with lights and all, which is unheard of for a town myself). There is a lot of history here and many people looking at mining, logging, and farming as harmful things they can in fact excel in both making improvements to our environment as well as our communities. So anyway, mining equipment gives me a chub
OMG!!! Such a big beautiful machine. And the operator has to sit on a crap seat!! Thanks Justin for another great video. I also love the catch of the Steiger CaseIH tractor in the background!
You're a national treasure, Justin! 😄I like the designs of the Komatus a lot more than the elevated sprockets ones like the Caterpillar Dozers. I'm wondering why there is a rather light counterweight on this dozer? I don't quite understand the usage. For agricultural tractors on the other hand I see the benefit. Can you please enlighten me?
Haha thanks! The counterweight would be the minimum ballast for the tractor. Of course, you could easily modify it to make it heavier. A lot of operators will op for a ripper over a counterweight just for the extra weight. Thanks!
Just found your channel, love the content. Would you by chance be out near Somerset? I’m in western PA , worked for one of the worlds’ largest AC & F/A dealers in the world and love your 41B video
Hello! That is very cool! Glad you enjoythe videos! I am out in Eastern Pennsylvania however my videos come from all across the state. Somerset is one of my favorite parts of PA :)
Love the videos. Such good insight into the equipment. You do a wonderful job at explaining about these machines. Do a good majority of the equipment you show still work everyday?
Used to steam a whole new fleet of komatsus on a horizon job in early 2000s….785s and 1500s hualin and a buncha 3 and 475s pushin rock….8 and 900 loaders never seen the big 1200 but was around 2 994s and woulda run one if I’d found the disconnect lol…I have since learned where it’s at if that opportunity arises again…
Love your videos I've been operating professionally for 12 years and in my experience Komatsu is throw away equipment I'm mainly Cat. Deere, Case, Hitachi are good but mainly Cat or nothin. Keep em coming!!
Moving this thing from site to site must be a logistical nightmare. Probably have to take the blade off, counterweight off, and tracks off, to just transport the main assembly on one super transport and carry the others on another transport?
No the 475 Super Dozer was introduced as an new model all together. It was not intended to replace the 575 Super Dozer, which is the one your thinking of with the offset cab. The 575 was still in production at this time as Komatsu's largest bulldozer.
Would that hydraulic tank stay the same size if the machine had a ripper on it also? Seems small compared to the size of the machine. Great videos Love the content
That's really all going to come down to operator preference. They are both solid powerful tractors however the D11 definitely has more market hold for being the number one mining dozer than the 475
Like #414. That is a magnificent beast, but... Ugh, the interior looks like 40 different operators didn't give 2-flying-fks about inside the cab. Question; is that a spare dozer used for when another dozer is down?...or....when the company wants to punish a mouthy operator?
Komatsu does have a partnership with Cummins but reserves those engines for use in the large mining class of hydraulic excavators/ shovels and trucks. Komatsu and Cummins engines are often interchangeable however. Is it possible your PC200 was repowered? Because all series of those machines were sold with a Komatsu engine. Thanks!

If you go way back you'll find some rather good videos I did, although I wish the quality was better. Thank you!
@@PAminingYea I noticed that. I have been watching for a long time but enjoy going back to rewatch things that I had forgotten. Thanks.

Best heavy equipment info vids on TH-cam. Keep'em comin'!
😁👍 you got it! Thanks!

Haha glad you enjoy them! That's how it is around here! Mining built everything and if it wasn't for it, half these patch towns wouldn't even exist.
OMG!!! Such a big beautiful machine. And the operator has to sit on a crap seat!! Thanks Justin for another great video. I also love the catch of the Steiger CaseIH tractor in the background!
It could use a new seat for sure lol. I had a feeling someone would pick up on the Case lol. Thanks!
Another outstanding docu! Thank you once again for making these.
You're welcome :)
Great work as always. Been waiting on you to cover one of this for a long time. Glad to see you did a great job on the walk around.
Well I hope it was worth the wait! Glad you enjoyed it! Wait till you see the 575 😉 Thanks

@@PAmining Much obliged!
That 575 was an absolute monster that 475 is a giant machine
Wooow that's a big dozer, enjoyed your show and I'll catch ya on the next one.
Tractors nice! Also drove my first ever heavy equipment vehicle! A Case 380B Tractor, lots of fun! 😊
Another excellent production!!!!!
Well thank you!
Nice video, I watched all of the commercials.
A brutally efficient dinosaur! Thanks!
Excellent documentary once again from PA Mining 👍👍👍 there's a dash 5 version working a quarry here in Scotland...
That's awesome mate! Thanks for that!
I am watching many of these videos just because they are well made. Usually it's machining videos and stuff like Truthstream Media :)
Haha! Glad you are enjoying them! Thanks and greetings from PA!
Great job 👍
Can’t beat a komatsu machine for hard work they are very durable reliable machines
Especially the loaders

Great video!, could you make a video of a current operating surface mines and info about the mines.
That 475 has been rode hard
And put away wet
Love the videos. Such good insight into the equipment. You do a wonderful job at explaining about these machines. Do a good majority of the equipment you show still work everyday?
Thank you, and absolutely they do! Unless it's something parked in the weeds lol
Thank you for a very interesting ....another very interesting video.
You're welcome! 😁
How did this one slip by Me? That unit does not have the variable pitch control, it only has one tilt cylinder. Great stuff. 👍👍🇺🇸
Haha! Well now ya caught it! Thanks!

Drinking game idea, take a shot every time he says D475 A-3
You'd be plastered

Is this the successor to the actual super dozer where the cab was mounted on the side
No the 475 Super Dozer was introduced as an new model all together. It was not intended to replace the 575 Super Dozer, which is the one your thinking of with the offset cab. The 575 was still in production at this time as Komatsu's largest bulldozer.
@@PAmining I see and are both the 475 and 575 the same size?
@@danielaguirre2516575 is quite a bit larger than the 475, however, the 575 is no longer in production
Would that hydraulic tank stay the same size if the machine had a ripper on it also? Seems small compared to the size of the machine. Great videos
Love the content
Yes, the hydraulic tank is enlarged for ripper installation. Thanks!
It's crazy that the machine weighs over 100 tons and they need to add weight for traction.
More for balance and stability
Awesome video. How come these big machines aren’t sold for scrap at end of lifecycle. Seems like a lot of scrap machines in your videos.
They are capital assets. Worth letting sit for 10 years until a mine opens. Might get exported to south America or something.
So do you think the Komatsu 475 is stronger than the D11. Or are they the same
That's really all going to come down to operator preference. They are both solid powerful tractors however the D11 definitely has more market hold for being the number one mining dozer than the 475
I’ve ran both, the D-11 is the better machine by far in my book. And the 11, especially the T models are more efficient.
❤
Excellent video but you need to stand next to the machine to show how big it is 👍👍👍 and by the way I like cat a lot better 🐈🐈🐈 lol 😀😀😀
Haha! That would be hard to do when I'm the one holding the camera lol. Thanks!

Nope, that is a full time production machine. I've seen cabs in way worse shape than this, however I do agree it could use a new seat lol. Thanks!
Hi Justin, you might know, have bulldozer manufacturers reached the limit of economic size of bulldozer manufacturer since the 575 production run?
That "Old Dinosaur" looks 85% wore-out. It probably deserves a rest.
That looks clapped out
$2400 just to fill the fuel tank for the work day. Thank you Joe Biden lol
D11 competition.
Excellent Justin. I thought Cummins made the komatsu motors I do know the pc-200 excavator had a 5.9 Cummins
