    In an ideal world, someone in the family would have a little bulldozer and a backhoe you could borrow. You will find a way to get it done. Props to your Mom on driving the tractor. Hey, Gavin two-legs!

    I think Mum might have driven a tractor before. I learned to drive on a tractor. Learned to back a trailer into the barn. Driving a Mini once I was 17 was so much easier.

    Do you watch Arms Family Homestead? They live in Sulphur Oklahoma. They live outside the town and their land was not hit by a tornado. Arms Family has 8ish mini donkeys and had just had 2 baby donkeys in the last 2 weeks. When the tornadoes came through it brought a LOT of rain and the creek near the Arms Family farm overflowed a LOT and unfortunately one of the baby donkeys appears to have been swept away in the flood. She could not be found. Nearly all of their fencing was laid down from the debris from the creek.

    Since you don't have a perfect world of equipment at the 27:30 mark in this excellent video, a couple of guys with a few hours and some shovels could really clean that up! The ladies like the guys with muscles. Who needs a gym membership when you have shovels and ditches to dig? Your Mom did good on the tractor. Your agreement on how much hay and where to place it and why showed the years of experience you share. Bravo!😊

    You did great teaching your mom.
    There's a lot of mud out where you were working that you can seed for added pasture, but to help with drainage of the water run-off, which will also help to filter the water all at the same time, even if you add the swells & create the other diversions.
    Awesome as always.

    WAY TO GO MOM!!! Conquered your tractor lesson with grace and ease! Lookin’ great! Joel it’s wonderful to see a young man like yourself looking at ways to improve your farm and just how you look at long term goals but not expecting the results to be overnight. Shows a great maturity beyond your years. One thing I wondered about is a water catchment system off your barn? Would it be advantageous to collect some of that water and then you wouldn’t have as much to divert? Just an idea if you haven’t already thought of it. Love your idea to put actual culverts in with gravel but like you said maybe one day. Great job! Your farm is looking amazing and it’s easy to tell the horses are loving it! 🥰❤️🙏🏻🇨🇦🍁

    Joel, I’ve very much enjoyed both your and the veggie boys channel. It was awesome you teaching your mom about the tractor. It would be really interesting to people like, me who have no experience with tractors, if you maybe did the same thing for your viewers. Like a tractor introduction, step by step how to run it. I really find all the equipment y’all use on the farm interesting! Thanks! Vicki in San Antonio

    That swale could be in French drain line up top the drain pipe lower section to pond. Or two swales for drains. Ok,ripping those bushes out of old metal pile. Get large magnet detachment for that area, I the bushes, first…… can you drank brush to wood burning area ok,
    Note get some free sandy, gravelly dirt from your wilderness, and raise these areas levels. Pack each level again and again.

    Luckily you have all those rocks from the fields to make the caged rock blocks to build a wall to direct the water and or flood control. You could also make a rock path to help keep unwanted stuff out of the water flow to the ponds.

    Mom did excellent on the tractor. When you put up the hay barn is there any chance that you will be putting them square bales in it because of the room for the hay. Round bales takes more room then square bales. You can feed them like you did before you started using the round bales for less waste.

  • @marthabartel604
    @marthabartel604 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    What do you mean your momma has not been on your toy, momma got her sun glasses on, a ready. I don’t think I can do this, I would have to re read the instruction book a couple of times with the handles. She did need to remember doing the tractor. The dog is really impressed. Daddy will love it.

    How exciting with all of the progress with the stable. If the Veggie Boys don't have to wrap the horse hay, wouldn't they be able to get finished with hay season a lot faster? Your Mom did a great job with the tractor driving and it was great to see Gavin working as well.

    • @tsugima6317

      Wouldn't work without the wrap until they get a hay barn...if you don't wrap it and it gets wet it gets moldy and is good for nothing but mulch or compost. It could make the animals sick.
