this is some golden timing lol
I kinda like Undertale Yellow's Genocide Run.
Clover has the soul of justice, this mass murder he is carrying out here is not necessarily the work of a madman who kills just because he can, Clover is acting here out of pure vigilantism.
Five people were killed and more are expected to die and everyone in the underground supports it, which makes them just as guilty as the actual murderers in human law terms.
So he acts both out of self-defense and revenge, Clover wants to live and Clover also wants to avenge the people who fell before him, because in his eyes they deserve to die, they deserve to be victims of his Vendetta.
This is a really interesting perspective from a psychological perspective.
Every route can be justify from a different point of view of the Justice
Pacifist: Clover judge them not guilty, or at least they don't deserve death
Neutral: Well... It depend of the character but for exemple Starlo, he treat his acolyte like shit and wanted a duel, Clover give him want he want, and you can justify for every character to be honest
And Genocide: You explain very well!
A similar upload skipped far too much dialogue. Thank you for uploading a fully comprehensive no commentary genocide run.

*CLOVER BLAST!!!"*
I like how with every boss fight there's more and more changes.
First one, Dalv, barely has any changes. Attacks are the same, only the dialogue and expression have changed.
The second one, Martlet, has remixed music, similar to normal attacks but harder and new attacks. Her motive and pose have changed.
The third one is an entirely new boss fight, Ceroba in her lowest point. She has lost everyone, her husband, her daughter, and now you killed her childhood friend in front of her. No reasons for her to hold back here, she will battle until she dies.
The fourth one, Axis, also feels like an entirely new one. Not only you have reversed roles, as Axis defending against YOU, making him invulnerable to attacks, but his attacks also become really different since you're not longer the one holding the shield. And then we have that scene where Clover just lasers down Axis in pure rage.
Final one, the Zenith Martlet may be similar to masked Ceroba from pacifist route, but that's only because of flashback and shooting soul mode. Ceroba was throwing everything she had at you, but not because she wanted you dead, it was only in hopes of saving her daughter and finishing the last wish of her husband. Martlet on the other hand, only tries to protect everyone by fighting with you. She doesn't give up when you break her armor, and even when she starts to melt, she still tries to fight. Until the last moment, she just had hope that you will die and this nightmare will end.
FINALLY A WATCHABLE PLAYTHROUGH
Somehow this is Moe heartbreaking than watching a normal Undertale genocide.
All the side monsters that you encounter while walking all get so sad.
i feel especially bad for sweet corn, tho.
This game is definitely more mentally tolling then undertales genocide , especially after a pacifist.
It’s less heartbreaking because at least we got something good out of it, clover surviving and the souls being freed. Also they only killed NON innocent people who attacked them first (you may argue hunting for monsters but in this game the encounter balloon stays a exclamation mark and doesn’t change to the smiley implying that they were still surprised. They may have just wanted to run in circles for 20 minutes with no particular reason AND wanted to defend themself) while frisk is worse for starting encounters with people like monster kid AND doing kills of those who found them
@concerndiego897

That is a really good touch in comparison to original undertale, that a genocide route actually has some believable motivations, other than just being mindless psychopath.
How about calling it "vengeance route" then?..
@@ekaterinaobraztsova4631 why ? Genocide is a certain behavior, not an emotion, not idea. Player commits literal genocide in both undertales on this path, so it fits.
@@ekaterinaobraztsova4631I like that?
In my opinion, both names make sense
Pacifist Run Axis: Take this shield so you're a threat to me so I can kill you.
Genocide Run Axis: *I NEED THIS SHIELD TO SURVIVE OR IM [done for]*
Not gonna lie, this is my favorite route, but not because of some edgy thing like wanting to terrorize people, but because I think is the only one (except maybe fake pacifist?) that actually represents what the yellow soul stands for: justice; a really warped sense of justice, yes, but here you can actually see Clover wanting to make justice for the 5 human souls. And besides, I do like that Clover gets to free the souls, seeing him walk out with all of them is kind of beautiful (that is, if you ignore the massacre he caused).
Atlest the genocide route had a reason, not like original undertale, but maybe thats why is so sad
(Walk out with the others) I thought you needed 8 souls or something or is asgore one.
Also I agree I with your points but justice may be blind but it isn't stupid too. Or shouldn't be, hopefully.

"Ah came down here ta' finish what you monsters started all that time ago. If ya want a second war, so be it. By the time the clock reaches twelve, the last of you will fall 'afore you can clear leather."
Oh damm
But wasn't it the humans who attacked first in the first war? The monsters didn't start it, humans acted out of fear. And the monsters didn't start it this time, the humans killed the monsters' prince and heir to the throne. That's an act of war in any nation.
I really did expect Asgore to killer Clover instantly no matter what at the end.
What an incredible fangame nonetheless.
I feel so bad for Martlet. When she injected herself (and after she was shot by clover), was she bleeding or was she leaking the liquid from the syringe? (I thought it was a screwdriver before she dropped it)
Sans was bleeding red when he was knifed by Frisk, and it’s not ketchup because red pixels were coming out of his mouth
it was just determination leaking, no blood
Similar to how the Amalgamates in the hidden lab (forgot what it's called lol) in Undertale had a similar effect because they were injected with a DT extract.
she was literally melting from the determination she injected into herself
From what i heard from a fandom user, the fluid she self-injected could not be determination, because the effects are different.
“The syringe can't be determination, since the timeline does not line up, nor do the effects. It DOES line up with the Integrity extract, however, which has the same effects as a monster absorbing a human SOUL, based on how Ceroba was trying to use it on Kanako.”
“The implication is Not Determination, due to a direct contradiction in how Determination works. The idea of it being DT contradicts her having the Exact same reaction Kanako did to the Integrity extract, with the exception of her surviving, and it Also turning her SOUL blue, Just like what happened to Kanako. Martlet also starts melting Before her HP hits 0, whereas Undyne proves melting from DT doesn't occur until HP is At 0”
-FrostTheFrozenFox
So i thought that Martlet got shot by clover, but she actually got an heart attack or whatever from the fluid. It still looked so nasty
@eurybiaball847 I didn't notice that the soul turned blue, I'll recheck that. I think Martlet melting is just the effect going away, she dies because of the attacks while she loses the effect of DT. Does the color of the extract matter? Because the syringe that Martlet used is Red.
If this isn’t a work of art, I don’t know what is.
then it's a masterpiece

Martlet on the other hand has a good 55% of her attacks balanced around the finicky annoying dash mechanic, and with all the bullshit on screen you can't even see exactly where you're gonna dash to begin with. It's like if cuphead balanced their bosses around the smoke bomb ability. It's a nice ability but if it's so good you have to balance the final boss around It's existence and overly punish those who aren't able to use it properly vecause of how finicky it can be then that's just sucky boss design lmao

the max HP reduction is rooough
I actually thought chara would appear at the end
Mad Clover is too scary even for her
chara only appears if someone matches his soul at lv 20
chara was only reborn when their soul was bound to frisk's body. chara would never have just let people go the way genocide clover did, or participated in starlo's dual. they would've just started blasting.
@@goobertron9132and even if they have LV 20, that's still not enough, 20 LV is weak for clover to revıve chara, it shows that they need 999999+ EXP for that to be done, to match the LV of frısk, they need at least to be at LV 50+ for that, and bypass the max LV just as how they bypassed flowey's control of the save, the way you need to increase LOVE, and maybe more
Had to watch the ending here since I was annoyingly stuck on the compound mixing minigame, and safe to say I am astonished. I wonder how the game's dialogue goes when you RESET after completing Genocide. Because we already saw how it happens after Pacifist, but still.

At least it saves before the second phase and it has a healing act move.
This is honestly very sad.
One thing I never got about the Undertale games is the constant focus on pacifism. I’m not sorry, if someone tries to KILL ME intentionally, I’m going to defend myself with equally lethal force.
That being said, pure “kill everyone and everything in my path” also isn’t my style, so going on the offensive for the sake of blood lust like Clover seems to do is off the table.
While true, lemme correct you on the last bit you said, clover didn't do it out of pure bloodlust, they commited mass genocide in the name of "Justice" for the other human souls u saw at the end
tbh going genocide on Undertale Yellow is much nicer than the undertale genocide route, our actions on whatever path we choose wether Pacifist, Neutral or Genocide its all viable for me.
There is a reason why toriel stops you from the beginning, because she knows how corrupt the underground is and how many kids will be slaughtered “just for their sake” wether there are good monster or bad ones, nobody ever stopped the king from killing/capturing in order to obtain the souls for freedom, only toriel tried to warn us, even papyrus in undertale knew what undyne was up to even if you’re his friend, the sense of justice here for the plot is incredibly Good, makes me feel like were the ones whom gives the monster their JUDGEMENT.

Random idea:the capsules that keep the souls shut and kept away are a source if imagination for the souls, that all of these routes (genocide and other non-cannon ones) are just a part of clover's imagination, thinking its the real deal.
Why does the end make this feel like the good ending? Like I can't be the only one who thinks fuck Asgore as Clover avenaged the 5 humans leading their souls free
and then frisk and everybody else to ever fall down there is trapped FOREVER!!!!! HOW NICE!!!
Haven't watched the pacifist playthroughs of this yet, but is it revealed which child Clover is specifically down there for? Like which one is the one Axis killed?
semi spoilers?
clover wasn't down for anyone specifically, he was looking for the five human souls in general

The thing is, the genocide route in undertale and undertale yellow are pretty much the same. BUT, it hits and feels different because of the difference between frisk and clovers intentions/personality. Because Frisk is doing this for their own determination, while Clover is doing it for justice.
