Just found your channel. This brings back some great memories of the race! I'm actually in some of this footage (directly in front of you at 5.08). I remember seeing someone vlog during the race (which I now know was you) and I remember being impressed that your were vlogging at the same time as running a marathon!
It was good to meet you on Sunday and to talk all things running whilst we sat next together on the coach to the start. Well done on your run. Hope you had a good day.
Thanks Michael, we did have a nice tail wind which helped :-) and definitely it's been on my bucket list for a few years and I'm really glad I went, you'll love it !!
That's awesome so glad this video has helped sway your decision, you won't regret it, as you saw it's a truly stunning one to do. Enjoy....and come back here and let me know how you got on won't you !
oh wow !! small world eh :-) it's an amazing race, it was cold at the start though. thanks for the kind words. i'll have to go check yours out over the weekend.
Yes it is a great race and the first time I did it was really cold that's why they say wrap yourself up with warm with clothes you can discard for charity .
Thanks buddy. Was going to turn around and get the bag pipe player in the shot, but had sooo many people behind me I thought i'd probably get trampled if I stopped. ;-)
For someone who has a You Tube channel for ultra distance runners. You were very ill prepared to be standing at the beginning of a marathon with no food and having to rely on the kindness of strangers to share theirs.
@@sarahrolfe3949 Who made you an authority on what is and what isn't an Ultra Runner. I guess you'd say the same about someone who had a light source malfunction and had to borrow a head torch of of someone else right ? God help anyone who was in need if you was passing them by, I imagine if you was doing an Ultra and some poor soul had slipped and broken a leg, you'd pass them by and say ''well your NOT an Ultra runner if you didn't bring first aid kit for a broken leg, so it's your own fault''
@@UDR-Channel there is a difference in a light malfunction and someone have a broken leg and turning up without a damn thing and expecting people to give you what you need. I'd never run past some who were injured but if your standing next to me at the beginning of a race begging for food no I'm not give you it. If you cant carry your own food don't run in a long distance race. I'd NEVER turn up to a race unprepared and ask people who probably don't claim to be long ultra runners to feed me. Your a joke and not an ultra runner period so stop claiming to be.
Running this in 5 days. Thanks for the vid!

yay Steve !!! you too buddy, how did you get on in the end ??
@@UDR-Channel The scenery and views made up for the slight disappointment in time. I’ll try again another year. Good luck with the channel.
Incredible run Jason … so cheery and filming too and still a 3:15 !!! Amazing! May have to do that one ☝️

Thanks for filming and publishing this! I have been looking at my next marathon and I think this is the one!

really enjoyed watching - the scenery and views of Loch Ness were stunning
Thank you. glad you enjoyed and I love your username !!
It was my first marathon, I agree organisation was superb. Great running well done.
Well done 👍 Looks like a great location for a marathon….
Hey Ben 👍 yup and even a 🌈 in the sky on the start line ✅😊
I was there. Conquer the monster hill!!!!
It was a great day wasn't it :-)
Thanks! Did you find it easy to get a hotel, get to the start etc?
You made it look easy!
Yes it was!
Weather was a tad ropey mind! Beautiful though.
Yeah it was a bit cool and wet, but given the location could easily have been worse. amazing scenery
How much time do you think that the downhills give you on this course? I'm thinking of running this in October 2022. ☺
Amazing Jay, spectacular place to do a marathon and loved the bagpipes at the start - that's the kind of motivation you need! Thanks for sharing
Thanks buddy. Was going to turn around and get the bag pipe player in the shot, but had sooo many people behind me I thought i'd probably get trampled if I stopped. ;-)
@@UDR-Channel Getting trampled by a sea of runners with a soundtrack of bagpipes in the background would have made it a very different kind of video!

I guess i'm lucky that there ARE kind people out there Sarah ;-)
@@UDR-Channel yes you are, but your NOT an ultra runner if you can't be prepared to carry your own food and look after yourself.
