My Selkirk Rex is affectionate in the early mornings and nights but I’d describe her as hyper adventurous and not laid back! She always wants to explore, be outside and play. I definitely agree she is smart, I have to change the toys weekly to keep her entertained.
I was waiting for them to say something earth shattering as far as having a Sel Kirk Rex, we have a cat who is part Maine Coone, so he is large with lots of hair, he is smart and very curious so we have lost plenty of plants, dishes and other things because he likes to investigate and knock things over, he too is not the most active cat so he spends much time sleeping, he is extremely affectionate and very clingy, so it sounds like he has a lot in common with the Sel Kirk Rex😂
Cats lick themselves. They do not groom themselves. Selkirks require regular grooming with air drying to maintain the complexity of their curls. Cats require bathing to remove the grease, dirt, and prevent matting.
Oh my God that would never get annoying unless the cat like gets like 50 lb or something but oh my god I went 10 of them❤❤❤❤❤❤ boy that sounds perfect I used to have a Siamese* Snow Shoe* who has that same exact personality I would wear him around my neck like a scarf all day😂
One other trait! They're often very gymnastic when playing. One of my Selkirk Rex boys does the most fantastic aerial flips. He should have been in the circus. This video is very true to life. Selkirk Rex are known as 'puppy cats' because they're so dog-like. One of my cats has to be by my side all the time, with his nose in whatever's going on. They are the smartest cats I've known and have learned to recognise a handful of words. They're a lot of work - they need variety in playtime, long games and don't like being alone for long. But so rewarding
What a negative title for this video just wondering if the creator of said video lives with this cat breed?I do and whilst some of the comments made can apply to the breed although put across in a negative way in the video I would tell this guy to change THE TITLE!they are a wonderful curious affectionate intelligent playful and adjust just fine when left alone and easy coat care a strong robust breed and totally gorgeous looking cat. People know in their hearts that it's wrong to selfishly exploit an innocent animal without their consent, doing so for their own personal pleasure or profit. This is what Selkirk Rex and other animal breeders do. Would you want someone to treat you or your loved ones in this manner? If you answered NO, then why do you think it's alright to do it to someone else? Animals are not here FOR us. They are here WITH us, and, like us, also want to live their lives on THEIR own terms, not on someone else's. They have the inherent rights not to be viewed as property or used for someone else's interests. Challenge cultural/societal lies that taught you otherwise.

It is better to adopt, not shop. They're beautiful, but nope. Same with the Maine Coon. I've had the best luck of having cats adopt me.
