Always have thought Dr. Scholz was impressive and excellent in the information he conveys. Honest, straight-forward and unaffected by the industry.
Liked the format sitting outside at the clear glass table starting with “let’s talk about prostate cancer”. Was like a personal and honest transparent discussion.
This is even better as it covers a topic, but is more focused, based on inquiries from patients. So effective! Very well done both of you ! Much thanks. Doing some really good and important work.

If cancer returns after brachytherapy, is surgery an option? If not, is implanting more seeds possible?

How can the PET scan be used to discern whether an individual is a candidate for Active Surveillance or local treatment such as HIFU, Tulsa Pro, Focal Laser Ablation or more aggressive treatment?
It seems like many men are rushed to surgery or radiation when a biopsy reveals GL 6 or 7. When are additional diagnostic tests beyond the biopsy are needed to select optimal treatment options.

The recommended duration of hormone therapy depends on the cancer's stage. Our prostate cancer helpline can answer that question for your specific case. Please feel free to contact us here: pcri.org/helpline
