What a difference a year makes. The first song was from their EP 2022, Face the Fear is from the CD album 2023. The Band-Maid Genre is spreading. Sounds just like a Kanami composition.
I think there are a # of reasons our faves - such as Band-Maid, Nemophila, Lovebites, Gacha Spin, ... are always working to get even better and better and better. I think one additional reason is artists like Lonesome_Blue and Saiseiga keep popping up and nipping at their heels!
Yes! And Japan seems to have this pool of amazing musical talent, like Narumi, ReNo, etc. that join, leave, reform new groups and reinvent themselves constantly.
The first record I bought was ABBA/ Dancing Queen, but I was surrounded by rock lover classmates that brought me to rock in elementary school. Murasaki and Condition Green was a well known in the 70's Okinawa rock scene and my freind went to the "Banana Show" in Koza which is kids entering to the adult world😂
What this music reminds? Old and modern at the same time? Well Lovebites of course... You know that the main composer of this band is Mao, who has composed songs for Lovebites? Lovebites vocalist Asami has also done lyrics to some of their songs.
OK... Mate...What's going on in Japan???? Wow how many talented women have.... After Band Maid, Lovebites, Yuki D Driver and now three more phenoms, let's see what they will do in the future, but they are promising... MADIAC FOR EVER
Like this better than all the songs on their first EP. Hope we'll get more of things like that in the album. My favorite new release of the year still is Adabana by Nemophila but this is definitely somewhere near the top 👍
They are definitely great, composition wise I prefer this band to most Lovebites stuff I listened to in the past. It still has that symphonic power metal element that I'm not into, which has nothing to do with their musicianship. Putting that aside I'd say it's exciting to see more fresh talents coming out of Japan.
Heavenly secret base gives me the vibes from when I went to the roller rinks (4 wheeled roller sates) I have their EP First Utterance and it’s really good witch is not a surprise considering the connections with LOVEBITES behind the scenes

Narumi is the hawtest guitarist on the planet and 2nd best in Japan behind Hal-Ca, IMHO. I think her talented bandmates here compliment her style very well. Though I wish they were a little more "metal" This song (Face the Fear) is better in that regard than the songs I previously listened to. I love the singer's voice. Bass and drums are solid too.
The album is incredible, every single song!!! Would love to see you guys do a reaction to the entire album!!! One of the best debut albums I have ever heard! Side note: Face the Fear is great but not the best song on the album IMO! You'll see...🤘🤘🤘
Yuuki Hirose (B) has more Twitter followers than LOVEBITES on her own. Let that sink in. 😜 Anyway, yeah I like them better than LOVEBITES too, and I REALLY like LOVEBITES. Narumi wasn’t going to put herself out there with just anyone though, so I knew they would be “something”. It’s amusing that she’s usually the best looking member of any band she’s in… And then we have Yuuki too! lol And yeah, then they play as well as LOVEBITES and seem to be having more fun. I’m glad you guys like Lonesome_Blue, I thought I was in a tiny minority of people that appreciate them and it was just a few eccentric old J-Metal lovers, but no! There’s some middle aged ones too. 😜
I stopped listening to new American music because of the over-reliance on synth. I had hoped for lonesome blue, but not really going to really love a Japanese sound that relies heavily on synth (if that is the direction they are going to go). That being said, it is catchy and really good musicianship backing the synth. That is my problem with this I guess, I don't mind a little synth backing great instrumentation, but this is more instrumentation backing up the synth. They seem to be getting more synth heavy, but will keep an eye on them and see how they progress. Great reactions guys and chat with you soon!
You guys need to react to "Battle Against Justice" from Fate Gear!! 🙀💕They remind me of a throwback to DragonForce & Iron Maiden. Yet in a totally different wholly s***, this is epic Japanese sort of way!! I don't want to find an exit to this Foxhole now lol. Another great reaction, BTW!! 🤘🦊💕
Love the mix of harsh and clean vocals on that one! And the lyrics are a lot of fun. Finally someone does a decent song about a steampunk airship naval boarding action.
They tricked me. It started feeling very maidish but they triggered to metal before it started to get boring. And then Narumi and her solo. I am going to simp her and I don't even pretend to be reasonable. What a woman dude. What a woman.
I was about to barf at the pseudo-disco garbage with the orchistral punches and electric rhythm pulses ..... but then "Face the Fear" blew the walls down. Good grief! Rock is not dead.... it's just living and growing in the land of the rising sun ... thank god. Out-fricking-standing. The future is secure with talent like theirs.

The difference between the the two songs was jaw dropping. I really couldn't get into their previous songs. Just too Jpop and not up to the current standards set by Band Maid. Face the Fear sounds as if Love Bites sat these girls down and had a heart to heart 'stop that B/S' you're making us (Jrock/metal) look bad.
