Happy New Year! For some games I track plays on a note card I keep in the game box, for campaign games I keep a spreadsheet with info I need from game-to-game, and for others I track plays on an app. I'm all over the place🤣

First… Dead Panic…a zombie “escape a cabin in the woods” game.
Second… Box backs… you made Greg cringe, and me laugh! LOL
QotW… yep… I track our plays first in a book, which is entered onto BGG every few weeks. I know… old fashion… but it’s been working for me since 2018….so if it ain’t broken…. 😂. I do make note of players, location and scores, as well as factions or characters if they are asymmetric.
Greg has recently signed up for BGG Stats, not sure how that tracking is going though.

To keep my attention in the room, I try to snap a quick picture of the games I play and then record them later.
Maybe once a month, I scroll through my pictures and add plays in bgstats. I record date, location and players.
I mainly started doing it because I embarrassed myself too many times asking people if they knew about a specific game... Only to find out that I taught it to them a week ago or whatever. 😑

I do the exact same thing. Then I make a photo album for the year of all the unique plays and the people I played them with. It makes for nice coffee table fodder for people to pick up and look at.

2025 we'll make it happen. Thanks for the shout out! As for the question of the week, this is the first year I've started using BG stats, mostly to see what Im playing, and how often. I could care less about scores etc, but knowing what i'm playing should help me cull my collection

I've been using BG Stats for 2 years now. Initially it was for the novelty of tracking and reviewing stats. But since then I've found a couple very useful features that improve our gameplay quality of life. One is that you can track who played what role/faction for games where that applies, and it helps to ensure we're mixing things up on future plays so that we're each getting exposed to as much of the game content as possible. The other is the scoresheet function which for most games makes end-game scoring MUCH easier. No more score pads or referring to the back of the rulebook for all the things you need to add up (I'm looking at you Revive!).

We got a ton of snow in Northern VA. I'm glad you guys didn't get too much. I've been tracking my games for a while now cause I can never remember what we played and when. Haha! I currently use BG Stats since it syncs with BGG. My family and friends like to know that I've logged them in my app. They like to know the stats too such as who won last and who has won the most.

Hi Jeff! Whenever my buddies and I play on TTS, I log the games through BGG. Mainly just putting in when and how long we played (not really recording who won b/c that doesn't matter, right? ;) ). Then later in the year, I compile all the games we played for the last 12 months, list them, and then put them in Pub Meeple. There, we each go through and rank that year's games and pick our Top 5 of the Year. Culminating in a playthrough of those favorites to start off the next year. Good fun!

I track my plays on BGG Catalog app and I just track wins/losses or just a play session if it’s a big campaign

QotW: I log our plays on BGG, and I also use the app BG stats where I keep track of scores and players etc. Everyone in my family thinks I’m nuts, but it makes me happy. 😊 Thanks for the content, I really enjoy your channel…

    Thanks for the video Jeff!
Velocity Vanguard is more or a Campaign or scenario game if I’m remembering correctly, I don’t believe it has any permanent game board alterations or anything like that, but it’s cool!

I use BG Stats but only track plays. I don't keep track of who I play with or where I played them.

I track my games played on the Board Game Mosaic Calendar and then at the end of each month put them excel to track how many games played and new games. As a side Star Trek Panic is super hard, played once and my wife and I were like yeah that was way harder then it should have been.

@@TabletopToolbox Its a KS each year where the artist (Katia Howatson) uses board game pieces to create cool mosaics for each month. I have done it the past three years and its always fun.

I've never tracked my game plays before. This year will be my first. I'm going with Board Game Stats. Hoping to stay with it and not be disappointed by the end of the year.
EDIT: I'm cheap. Not buying Board Game Stats. Went with BGG logged plays. Only physical plays, not BGA.

You talk so much about it, so how about a playthrough video of RockHard'77 ?
'Bites' sounds like a game that deserves more attention.
'Time Divistion' - how was the theme part of the game?
"Stratego" is not a classic game everyone knows about? and yes, Jeff did mix up what was the higher value 🙂

I REALLY don't have the proper gear for a good playthrough video, and I don't REALLY have the friends who WANT to be in a playthrough video. :)
Bites was nice - not something I'm going to pursue very often but we had fun and it was super quick.
Time Division has no theme, honestly - at no part did we at all feel like we were in Egypt, the Dark Ages, or the 1980's... :) It's just a card-playing game with some unique art on the cards to portray the "theme."
