I love The Fury of Our Makers Hand... and the album's intro has to be one of the best in metal.
6:30 song the intro alone is like 1:45 and unlike most long songs every single second of that song is amazing hell the whole. Album is fucking EPIC!!!
Agreed. It's every bit as good as the intro song to IOWA
I’m with ya... 🤘🤘🤘
ripped apart in drop b has to be one of the best sounding songs ever imo
One of the most underrated bands ever
For sure
He xeroxed a Metallica book? Lars is going to be so pissed
In 96 i walked in the music shop with a pencil, and a peice of paper and i “stole” tabs by writing down notes and chords and going home and learning them. I noticed alot of green day songs used 2 notes that were 2 frets apart and once i discovered how much i could learn with just that power chord shape, there was no stopping me
More Devildriver Loudwire!
The Fury of Our Maker's Hand was the DD record that made me a huge fan. Thanks, Mike!!!!!!
My favorite riffs are anything on Fury of Our Maker's Hand, the entire album ;)
He's trying to bring back Devin's skullet
The most metal hairstyle in the history of metal hairstyles
If any of you guys was wondering who is this guy. Just check out "the fury of our maker's hand". And i recommend for you to listen to their songs "hold back the day" and "clouds over california". Thank you loudwire
First 2 records of devildriver was written by the singer alone, he hired musicians to play his songs, from words vocal to every instrument, but this guy is still awesome also
Swinging the dead’s good to
@@cloudyjohnson7648 Uh, no he absolutely did not bro lol
@@cloudyjohnson7648 as far as i know. Spreitzer also did wrote hold back the day. Im sorry if im wrong
@@jorgemiranda7171 yeah lol. Ive just typed what came to my mind at the time. Maybe because i love the record and those songs so much. Theres tons of good songs from them making its hard to chose. Swinging the deads great too
Best band in the world man. DEVILDRIVER
92 is when i first picked up a guitar i was 11 or 12 i think. Guitar came with one of those whistles you used to tune it lol.
For a super heavy band he seems so chill I love it 😂
I love how when i watch these vids i learn the names to my favorite songs i hear on the radio but never learned
I love that this band is still going strong
You sir are a guitar God!
I've been saying that "Testimony of truth" riff was amazing since the first time i've hear it. I really can't understand why nobody is talking about the great guitar work on that album
this guy is one sick riff writer.
Mike is one of the nicest dudes I've ever met in the biz... did LOTS of tour dates with DD. Love this guy. Love the way he writes... stoked for whatever's next for him and Devil Driver!
I remember meeting Mike in 2008 for a black star amp , he was nice and gave me all the albums , glad I met him and still play to this day , thanks man !
I love this favorite riff series but it'd be cool too see Artists play more of their own riffs/how those ideas turned into songs
Glorious.
Just run has one of my fav riffs ever, gets me hyped
Great vid! Thanks LW!
Fucking love DevilDriver. I mean seriously, < > this close to Pantera levels of love.
Devil driver is the shit man. I wanna see more of them Loudwire!
Ripped Apart was one of the first riffs I ever learned. To know that its one of his favorites is... Special.
It was the explorer bass in Def Leppard's Photograph video that first made me reach for an instrument as well. Something about that shape..
that new riff reignited my interest in DevilDriver...cant wait for new album
Above It All is my favourite DevilDriver song guitar wise. But The Fury Of Our Maker’s Hand and The Last Kind Words are my favourite albums.
8:17 ALWAAAAYYYYYYSSS, ALWAYS DARKEST BEFORE THE DAAAAAAAAAAAWN
got to meet mike in dallas him diego and dez took time to sign my esp ltd ms1...devildriver always deliver great stuff
Ha! I got the AJFA tab book when I was 18, and Harvester Of Sorrow was the first song I learned.
Thank you loudwire
Ripped apart is just a great freaking song good stuff homie 👍🏼 keep jamming 🤘🏼✌🏼
Wow now that is fret buzzing
I saw the picture before reading the title and the first thing i saw was fear factory (gear factor), so i clicked on it right away but even though it wasnt. i wasnt dissapointed
testimony of truth is one of my favourite tunes from devildriver
Metallica has an impact on every metal lovers life I feel . Greatest band of all time
The first three Def Leppard albums were great, especially High And Dry. Hysteria is weak.
I'm glad he is still in the band. Seems like a down to earth guy. Jeff Kendrick, however, was a complete tool. I know from personal experience.
Woah 😯 really?? That sucks, dude. Was he a douche to you or what happened? I'd hate if one of the dudes in a band I look up to was a douche to me. Luckily I've never had any bad experiences with the few dudes in bands I like that I have met.
Heard something off in Harvester.
Yes he played a note wrong
That was my 1st music book. lol Still have it too.
My God, that tone, it sounds so good. 🤩🤘
It’s ridiculously good. DD are awesome band so happy to see them being featured.
Give this a listen too

You mean the muddy sound or the absurd amount of fret buzz?
@@thegatesofsleep dude this is a super unprofessional audio recording, of course it's going to sound like shit. The unplugged guitar sounds are fighting with a shitty across the room amp sound.
I love devildriver music
Please do fear factory!!!
Absolutly anything on fear factory!!!!
Please:)
The main problem in Devil Driver is that Dez sings ALL THE TIME, no pause, no breathing... check it out, once he start singing he wont shut up until the end of the song. This makes all the songs sound the same and you ended up bored and tired, threfore not too exited about their new releases. I wish the riffs and drums shine a bit more bringing more textures and flavours to their material because they are good musicians.
Hatebreed is even worse about that!
This statement is false.
tell me why i read "mike wazowski" the name's not even CLOSE
Speed up too 1.25 when hes playing perfect for me
I wonder if we are related...your a much better guitar player than I am.
I was just wondering if he ever played an ESP?
For me, while its hard not to argue DD hasnt quite been the same since Jeff and John left, Mikes work on Trust No One was fucking phenomenal. Testimony of truth and House Divided in particular.
Pyromania and Hysteria were the first 2 albums I owned (on cassette). I was 7 or 8.
5:20 Sounds like Acid Bath
i got about 60ish tab books. i buy them used, and have korns debut album tab book, Japanese version.
Love harvester of sorrow
Cool
I think one note in harvester 's main riff he plays wrong 🤔
Metallica was his primary school.
Metallica is overrated and sucks balls
@@anthonymontgomery4701 just like your mum
@@anthonymontgomery4701 but they deserve to be overrated tho, but lars sucks sometimes
anthony Montgomery megadeth way better
@@MichaelSmith-ti6qc Better how? I like both and find the recent metallica riffs to be a lot better but megadeth have always been more technical.
@5:35 summoning demons
🤘🏼🤘🏼
Anyone know if he likes ESP guitars?
These videos are kind of interesting, but I feel like them playing their favorite riffs they’ve written would be much more interesting
Well I guess they do mention some riffs they’ve written, m bad.
I pooped this morning..
Look at us., doing things and stuff
Need the white zombie tab book favorite album!
Hello white Terrance Hobbs.
Nice
I have a esp Ltd viper baritone 300 with the titanium neck rod u want it hit me up
thought that was a Solar guitar.
I always wondered what Stuart from The Big Bang Theory is doing when they're not shooting...
alot of fret buzz on that guitar lol
You cant hear any of the fret buzz on the amp so whats your point?
@@IIIIII1111-p1q you can hear over the amp, set it up properly
My thoughts were that his amp sounds like ass here. Sounds like he’s playing through a Line 6 on the “Insane” channel.
It is not fret buzz. It’s the pick hitting the strings.
@@kirkgifford746 if that's a Line 6 tone, I better pull my old one out!
Yea but can ya play smoke on the water?
genelec!
$100 for your tab books?! $150 signed!?
What the song of 5:10 ?
You mean at 5:20, the song he plays right after "Testimony of Truth"? That's "Ripped Apart" from "The Fury of Our Maker's Hand".
Thanks so much
10 minutes video and 10 seconds of actual playing...
I love him and devil driver. But am i the only one that hears that feedback.lol the frequency feels like its damaging my ears. Just hurts my ears.lol maybe I'm the only one who can hear it.lol who knows.lol
Like these vlogs, dont like the bs propaganda commercials
not first
Is it just me or is the tone really bad. Otherwise good video though.
I don’t think camera audio is a good indicator of tone being good or bad at all tbh
Too much gain..but tone is sick🤘
That’s one of the worst tones I’ve ever heard from a career musician lol
way too much string noise and buzzing
Sorry bro I've never heard of you or your band. Man I'm glad I grew up in the days of good metal. 🤘✌️
Devil Driver - End of the Line. You're welcome.
@
Going to listen to Coal Chamber now
Watching him try to play power chords was hilarious. But not as funny as his choice to go dreads and shave.
I'm just being an asshole. This dude rocks! I've seen him play live.
bad tone
terrible guitar sound
The Black Album is when Metallica went from Metal too Hard Rock. Basically they weakened there sound to appeal to a bigger fan base for more 💰 which is called “Selling out”. Lars drumming went from thrash metal drumming to AC/DC drumming. Slayer on the other hand stayed true to metal and still kick ass to this very day!
😴😴😴
Yeah, kicking ass in retirement
Slayer has sucked since Undispited Attitude
If Metallica was such a big influence on him, you think he would have learned to write better riffs. All those Devil Driver riffs he played sound like generic death metal meets generic nu metal - completely unmemorable.
