- This is how to replace your SSD hard drive in a Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1 laptop. To purchase the hard drive on Amazon search for “Samsung 970 PRO Series - 1TB PCIe NVMe - M.2 Internal SSD Black/Red (MZ-V7P1T0BW)”
At the time of making this video the official link was this one here:
www.amazon.com...
Thank you so much for your help just to let you know I install the two terabyte drive in the same laptop and it works great. I cloned it and it still works great. I had to remove a card that was in the way it looks like a WAN card for 5G network I just took it out since I don't use it and it gave me room for the longer stick SSD. So everybody out there you can put a 2 terabyte hard drive in this laptop. Reach out to me if you guys have any questions.
What do you mean you cloned it?
Thanks for letting me know that a 2TB SSD will work as well. I didn't know that.
You're more than welcome. Mine is still working well my two terabyte
@@mirage711 did you check you can actually access / use the 2TB ? In some situations the drive appears to work, but its usable capacity is not the full drive due to addressing limitations
Hello, thank you very much for putting this video together. I have exactly the same laptop and i can confirm this works with the Samsung - 990 PRO 2TB Internal SSD PCle Gen 4x4 NVMe (Model: MZ-V9P2T0B/AM)
I ordered a nice 1TB for mine and it arrived so I started in by cloning my 256 SSD to a SanDisk external. Then i opened up my 7400 and was puzzled. Ah, they fooled me by putting in a shorty SSD in this one. I can put in the 2280 but decided to wait. I really want the proper cover for the longer card. I don't know how important the shielding is but I'll wait till i have it. Thanks for the nice video.
Well done, Martin! Followed your video and worked perfectly. Thanks!
Hello, i am going to do the same process shortly. One thing i don't understand is this just the basic operating system been swapped over or do /did your files etc all swap over to the new ssd or does that have to be manually done by saving and re installing them later etc.
Thanks for your time if you do read this and reply... I read a bit online but can't make perfect sense of it
can we install SATA ssd in this laptop?
I was hoping to add a second one.
Good job.
"The SSD-hard drive" - I have never felt such pain in my ears
you're right :) ... hurts my ears too, now that I think of it - even just "SSD-drive" would also be technically incorrect.
I've done this and now the battery is not working at all do you know what I did wrong?
actually its very tricky to slot in, I pushed it a little harder heard a click and now can see the charge light is back on lol
Cool
How did you unplug the battery cable that easily? No matter how hard I pull it doesn't move at all. I don't want to destroy it
