    Thanks for a well thought-out lesson. it's good to be reminded that plain weave doesn't have to be boring:)

    Thank you for the step-by - step! So many nuances to weaving and I'm learning alot from this series! I actually just followed along to hemstitch my scarf and although it's a little messy, I think I get the gist! THANK YOU! By the way, your cat is adorable and really wanted your attention during the hemstitching portion. It was cracking me up.

    I was unable to weave for a year but now I can finally get started again. I really liked your basic getting started weaving because it reminded me of some things I forgot I had to do. I also liked the technique for making the diamond. Thank you for sharing your skills with us. Dewey from the Texas Hill Country.

    Loved watching you weaving & designing patterns as you go along. Did attend a short class but watching helps to understand the whole process better. Thank you for sharing. 💖💐🌹

    I learned a lot from watching you make the different patterns. I am brand new to weaving and still have to warp my loom. Thanks for the info.

    I am a machine knitter and I understand waste yarn. I just wanted to comment that I love the waste yarn for the texture that it brings. I think you could do a whole project with that chunky yarn as the weft and keeping your original work as the warp. You’ve only just started doing the actual weaving so I’m not even commenting about what you are weaving, I’m just admiring the chunky yard.

      You are correct. You can have a lot of fun with different textured yarn. But if you want to weave an even set you use the same weight yarn as your warp. Thicker yarn can create a more dense less flexible fabric which can be great for making things like bags.

    Very informative. I like the stand the loom is on. Is it also from ashford?

      Thank you. Yes the stand is also from Ashford. However they have a new stand out now, so I don't know if this version is still available.

      @ thank you. I like your stand better than the ones I am seeing. More sturdy. Love your channel. Just starting to learn to weave.

      Depending on where you live you can try Facebook marketplace, craigslist or look for a local fiber arts guild. Those are good places to find used equipment. You might be able to find the older stand.

    The cat is clearly not a fan of the hemstitch, eager to get back to weaving.

    WHY ARE ALL OF YOU PUTTING HUGE YARN AT START?

    • @JeneratedDesigns
      @JeneratedDesigns  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The waste yarn at the start is used to separate out the warp threads so they are evenly spaced before you start weaving your project. I hope that helps answer your question. Happy weaving!
