Big minis, strange minis, good sculpts, and powerful creatures are my favorite. So this set is outstanding. It's a real shame about the breakages. It seems to be partly a consequence of daring sculpts, but packing two large minis without both locked down is a terrible idea. Not too woried about 4 more dollars for more big minis, but the greater number of rares (or singles) has me concerned. $40 - $60 for a small aftermarket pre-painted mini is not great. Ultimately, I agree with what you a said a while ago: my favorite minis are usually ones that facilitate good storytelling. Nice to see your kitty again, too.

I really love this set! I don't play Pathfinder, just D&D 5e, but I could easily use these minis for my games and they would make an awesome addition to the little bit of minis I've been able to pick up. As a DM, any amount of minis that I can get my hands on helps tremendeously! My favorite of the set definitely has to be the Attic Whisperer!

Another great review. I was blown away by the quality of the paint on some of those commons. A lot of time, commons get neglected and its nice to see that isnt the case here.
I have do have to mention that the price increase MAY not be because of the sizes. I know that the $20 MSRP is also hitting the upcoming D&D release, Boneyard. I dont know much about what in that set yet (only a handful of figures have been previewed), but maybe that set is also running heavy on the big creatures too.

I really like this set. It's got a good mix of 'dark and broody' looking creatures with that dash of leprechauns and scarecrows. I dig the clear bases but bummed out about all the breakage, but as I said in your live stream, wizkids does allow for sending in a mini for them to replace, but that could still be problematic for the spider which is too bad.

Another fun fact about the Leucrotta, they look so much like hyenas because they ARE hyenas! Well, rather, hyenas the way people in the ancient times who never seen one imagined them. Pliny the Elder wrote in his book Naturalis Historia about how these beasts can mimic human speech to lure kids out to eat, and have bone ridges in their mouth instead of teeth that can dent armor, and look like hooved badgers. Well, he was quite far off with that, but D&D decided to use this description to create the Leucrotta - the name comes from the latin name of the spotted Hyena, Crocruta crocruta.

I love Gnolls/Hyenas, so I'm thrilled for the Leucrotta!
The cavern trolls are awesome! Could work for elementals, golems, and even a couple critters from the psionics stuff.
I'm excited about the Jabberwork having a mini, finally! Snicker-snack!
The wood giant and the Treant are both nice too!
Perhaps you could get one of those clear button things that people put on the back of picture frames to keep them from leaning out from the wall...a bumper or something, not sure of the name...you can ask the framer at Michaels or something if one is near you what they are called...anywho...put one of those between the head and base of the big spider? Might help support the weight and then you can stand it upright without concern. :) Just an idea! ...a drawn-out, rambly one...hah!
