I love that 3 armed 3 legged thing. I've gotta get me one of those. There's nothing better than the players hearing something from around the corner slowly stepping their way closer and closer. Then finally, under the dim light of a torch, this creeps out into view. Then you plop that mini onto the play mat. Tomb tapper is another freaky one.

If the minis in the retail boosters look this good, it will be an awsome set! I say this because sometimes the preview miniatures get much better paint jobs than the ons that end up in boosters. The Goblin War Chanter (Pathfinder goblins are my favorites!), the Efreeti, and the Ettin are the ones that impressed me much. The Enforcer Aeon looks so cool that it is already generating an adventure idea in my head (not as an Aeon though). I never heard of the Quelauunt, but it so creepy that it is a another potential inspiration as something to build an adventure around it. Looking forward for your full review of this set!

naw man, you're thinking 2D.....that's for perpetual stoners and elementary school kids. Meta is having your Goblin Warchanters getting the entire goblin party to sing "what is love?" "rump shaker" or "unchained melody" on repeat.
Yeah you are right on the money, Aeons are basically the Pathfinder versions of Inevitables - the Enforcer is the Kolyraut for example. And Inevitables were replacing Modrons in 3E D&D who were deemed too silly, but thankfully made a comeback. The Arbiter looks like a mini-Monodrone, stretching copyright a bit there Paizo? I would use it as a familiar for a Lawful Neutral mages. Modrons must be sending those out too, Imps and Quasits are so popular!

Btw, the whole Genie/Djinni nomenclature thing, in D&D it is quite complex. Basically Genie (plural) is the name of all 5 species as a collective term. Djinni (singular) is the name of the blue-skinned Chaotic Good Genies living on the Elemental Plane of Air, and the plural is Djinn (confusing, I know, comes from arabic). So, you can call an Efreeti (singular) a Genie - but never call one a Djinni. They hate each other. :P
And if you think that's complex, the 2E D&D setting Al-Quadim had a gazillion more Genie types living on the Material Plane! :)

Wow these are particularly nice. Love the first goblin . I just finished one very similar. My first Goblin paint job actually. I got the little trio from pathfinder as well then put all the of them on the same base.

This trio(the one with spikes on his head. I think the company paints it as a gold:copper helmet.) but man that goblin is so reminiscent of one of the gremlins!!!

The curved blade on Shaitan is by design. It has zero to do with injection molding.

The effect seems to be shaped like gas or liquid. So either it's the slowing gas or perhaps it was intended to be acid but ended up being painted yellow/orange. I guess in real life acid is generally pretty colorless. -Theo
Got to be honest I prefer the D&D Djinn models, but that gorilla-demon thing and quelaunt look AWESOME.
I think even D&D Genies can have 2 legs, if they want to - they just take that swirly elemental feet form when flying. It would be nice to get maybe variant minis that have such replaceable lower bodies.
I've seen pics of that celestial defender before and I honestly thought it was a GW Stormcast someone modded lol

About the White Dragon yeah most other adult dragons are Huge only White and Copper and Large
I think Mummies generally would not breathe fire, given that all those bandages make them super susceptible to fire. Wind blows it back and you are screwed royally! :D I think they are trying to recreate the sand blast the Mummy Lord has here, but colored it orange.
Ahhh... yes, so the effect is called sandstorm wrath, and he/she's actually blowing superheated sand. You're right! -Theo

Nice preview, I do hope you get a case too though. As with most PFB sets, I will just cherrypick mostly the Uncommons and Commons from this set. One thing I definitely want is Genies - all four of them look amazing and I can hardly believe they are not Rare at this paint level. The last time PFB did Genies all 4 were Rares and are super hard to get. I am also glad we are finally getting more female Genies, given all the Djinn so far we had were male. And the new male Marid will hopefully line up nicely with the older PFB female one.
The Giant Mantis and female Ettin are also must haves. Though the Mantis is a bit cartoony, the Ettin will look nice even next to the Icons of the Realms one, they have the same grey skin and Orc-like features.
Not crazy on the Janni. Looks more like some Elf version of the Hong Kong martial arts movie archetype wise old master than a Genie.
The two Angels that are Rare are nice, are on my "maybe" list. I do wish they gave better paint to the gold armored ones as they seem rather bland.
Celestial Guardian I will use as a Cervidal, we need more Guardinals, dammit WotC, add them to your Monster Manuals...
I see a weird repeat of minis between this set and Boneyard. A Rare Lich and Mummy Lord, regular Mummy, Grim Reaper/Avatar of Death... it's like Wizkids is doing the same minis but in Pathfinder style. Not sure if this overlap doesn't hinder them? It feels like they are their own worst competition.
I'd like to get that Merfolk, but why is a CR1 creature a Rare? Weird slot...
Is it me of the Lich is female? There are bumps on the chestplate. Though frankly seeing plate armor on a wizard bothers me - and with the staff and spellbook she is definitely not a cleric Lich (those exist too). I know Pathfinder has different rules but to me wizards should not wear armor - that's what Mage Armor and Stoneskin is for.
As before, the Dragons don't interest me much as I only collect D&D style Dragons, but they are impressive in paint. Weird why the Copper Dragon has that orange-ish breath? Maybe the slowing gas breath? Or was supposed to be acid, but miscolored?
Love all those insights! Thank you! It was interesting to see Eric Mona comment on the video indicating that he was the one who put together the set list for Bestiary Unleashed. I was wondering who was responsible for that. Those were my two guesses on the bronze dragon breath. Though who's to say what color "acid breath" would actually be. And yes, looking at the lich in hand right now... it could very well be female, but it's very subtle. -Theo
@@TheGallantGoblin Huh, nice, I gotta check that comment. Indeed it is a nice mix of Elementals, Celestials and other extraplanar creatures.
Guess this is our second female Lich then, I think the Boneyard one is a lady too, but yeah, hard to tell with the undead.
Personally when I do scroll work I mostly just use transfer decals, I have a ton of them from my 40k models . doing freehand is a pain

@@thth-sv4bt yeah I miss them, there is a company called otherworld miniatures that basically copied the look of their monsters from the 2nd ed AD&D monster manual , I love their hobgoblins and pig faced orcs!

The Aeons look really good, they remind me of the modrons except they dont look like crap.
Last time I looked at some preview for minis from Wizkids was something from Nolzur I think (all I remember was that there was a troll with many faces that was notable) and the paintjob was just terrible. It seems that the paintjob on these Pathfinder minis is way cleaner, and looks more pleasing to the eye, especially when it comes to faces. Was the difference between paintjobs for DnD and Pathfinder minis always so different?
Pathfinder has generally had some really amazing and detailed minis. It's all a matter of taste, but I certainly love me some Pathfinder minis. -Theo
Well Nolzur's is the unpainted line, so the paintjob couldn't have been terrible, when there wasn't any... :P There is a multi-headed Troll in D&D Fangs and Talons though.
Pathfinder Battles have a more cartoony paint scheme in general with more livid colors and less shading - to each their own I like D&D more, but the Genies still look great here.
@@commanderbbshockwave8698 maybe you're right about the troll part, I assumed it was from Nolzur and most dnd minis are from this line particularly
