I had a bottle of each of these recently and was very disappointed at the price point. They have both received the Diageo sterilization treatment and in my opinion are not worth half the asking price. I will not buy either again unless Diageo sells these distilleries to someone who will put out standard bottlings that show off what these distilleries can really do. Great video as always!

I agree with you on the opening up of the Oban and ran into the same experience with the Oban 14. My first 1/3 of the bottle, I thought it was “okay”. Until I saw this video, I forgot about it for a couple years and decided to give it another go and I thought it’s waaay better now.

Damn I didn't even know there was an Oban 18, never seen it before. Haven't tried the new one but I think I had too much expectation on the Talisker 18 so the few times I had it, I wasn't blown away. Good comparison though, cheer for the video 🥃

When I saw this one I was very intrigued. I have the Talisker 18 and I wanted to like it, but I just don’t, in my collection it is my least liked. I’ll let it set for a year and come back to it in hopes it is better. In cost, I paid $138.00

I "accidentally" buy DVD movies all the time. Don't feel bad. I have never tried Oban 18, but I have tried Oban 14. Am I the only person that thinks Oban 14 tastes like Christmas fruit cake?

Yep, YOU are the ONLY one. The rest of of think Christmas fruit cask tastes like Oban 14.
