I think the many Exit signs in The Shining are referencing the right-to-die/assisted suicide organisation that began in Scotland in 1980 of the same name. Although it formally began in the same year The Shining was released, it had been around for a long time prior to that. Suicide is effectively one of the themes of the movie since Jack Torrance is drinking himself to death and Grady took his own life. Many of the exit doors clearly lead nowhere and there may even be significance regarding whether the characters come in or go out under the Exit signs as it relates to the story.
A newcomer here. First of all, I'm amazed by your work and it's really cool to see someone as passionate as myself about recreating movie locations. Sorry if this has been asked before, but do you have any plans on releasing the project as a standalone 3D exploration app or something like a VRChat world for people to explore?
Thanks for your compliment, Eugene. The drawings of the Shining started since 2006. I have made many 360 videos. You can find them under 'playlist - panoramic videos'. I have linked these renders as a test with a VR program, but the free version only allows 2 links. So now I have to save up to buy a paid version.
Hi Delta. Have you noticed that for quite some time there are no any new conntent on Miss M. The object of art channel? Do you keep any contact with her? Greetings. B.
@deltabuilder Shine On was good, but sadly no new Vivian Kubrick footage. Does her films still exist? Secondly, were he 2nd floor corridor sequences (with room 237 exterior) filmed above the Colorado Lounge, or in a separate building?
@@randallfloyd2982 Yes, still a lot of unanswered questions -- we really just got a broad overview. Was great to see and hear their personal anecdotes though.
You done Save the Best Scene for Last with that camera zooming down that Creepy Corridor, to the Last exit door. 🚪 A lower floor? No wonder 🤔 this was so Very Mysterious of what WAS Behind THAT Door.😳😯🏨🪓🚪👭🩸🔪🌨️🌬️❄️

Hi Boxy,
yes I noticed that too. I sent her a DM, but didn't get a reply.
I hope she's okay, but maybe she's very busy.

Hey, did you see the Documentary 'Shine On:The Forgotten Shining Location'? -- When I watched it, I thought of you and your channel!
It's on youtube -- if you search that title. 'Stanley Kubrick' Channel
I hadn't seen this one yet. Thanks a lot for the tip!
I'm going to sit down and watch it on the projector!
